This site is the gift that keeps on giving,EE,s enthusiasm is infectious.Intrigued by the Losantin decontamination tablets,i never realised there was such a thing. Apparently they were crushed and mixed with water.had to be applied to the skin within 5 mins of contamination! Great that you found the gas mask inlay which completed the story.👍

What a great exploration. It’s been a while since you found a heel iron. The spark plug was an unusual find for the area. It’s nice that you are able to go out and recover this forgotten history before it is gone forever. Keep these great videos coming.

More metal detecting! You always find incredibly interesting artifacts when you detect, so I was thrilled to see that you were out there on such an important base from the period. Those spark plugs have to be the coolest thing you've found so far out there, as of course they show that it may have been a repair facility as well as an ordnance storage depot, or that the allies managed to really smash some of the planes haha.
    Thanks again, EE and HH!

Wow, what a place you found. You were able to dig up and locate quite an inventory of German WW2 and Allie artifacts - German barbed wire, huge bolts from the anti-aircraft position, K98 Rifle cartridges, button from a German soldier's uniform, German heel iron, inlay of a German gas mask, hinge from ammo box, 1944 M1 Carbine cartridge,2 German aircraft spark plugs, ? mine detonator. Were there any tablets or residual in the Losantine container? EE was very determined to get the treasures under the tree roots. Good job, EE. I bet there is so much more to discover there. Thank you for taking us there, HH and EE. 💕

Thank you for making these videos. Thanks to them, I have identified a few things my dad brought back from Germany after the war. Here in America , many firearms were available for purchase to National Rifle Association members, including the .30 M-1 Carbine. Dad bought 2 of them as well as .30 caliber bolt action rifles from WW2.

Some really nice finds in this one! That gas mask inner lens was a surprise. Recognised it straight away but was truly amazed that something so fragile had survived this long without going brittle and cracking. That's a great find in itself, but finding the Losantine container as well? Great work! Wonder if the rest of the gas mask is still lying there somewhere? The M1 Carbine rounds were an interesting find. Most likely from the GI's sent in to secure the place. The spark plugs were an oddity for a munition storage facility, but perhaps, that area wasn't just for bombs, and munitions, but anything, and everything, Luftwaffe? Really looking forward to what else History has waiting for you to find! Cheers to you both! Stay well!
