They say they picked the name because they started with BARBERSHOP singing, and many 50's girl groups had ETTES for their names so they chose Barber-ettes! Imagine if they picked 50's girl groups that had ELLES for their names like the Shirelles or the Dixiebelles? Then they'd be called Barb-elles!
I wonder if they have sung "Lover's Concerto" yet? I would love to hear them sing it.

처음 노래를 들으며 눈과 귀를 의심 했었습니다. 미국인처럼 노래하고 생긴건 영락없이 우리한국 아가씨들 같은데 화성과 몸짓이 너무 미국인 같아 내심 우리 한국인이길 바랬었는데 언뜻 한국말인지 한국어 본것같아 다른 비데오를 보고 대한의 딸들이 분명해졌읍니다.
그래서 나는 아가씨들에게 농담반 진담반 우리말 딸과 영어의 어원 daughter (다라)에 대해 얘기하고 싶어졌읍니다.
세계의 언어가 흩어지기전에 한단어 딸을 이브 할머니네 식구들이 썼었읍니다.태초에 아직 이름이 없었을때였는지 이름을 두고 그랬는지 는 아무도 모릅니다. 어떤일로 어머니가 따님을 부르는 걸 본 이방인이 있었읍니다 . 얘 ! 딸아 ! ...... 딸아 ? 이름인가 ? 그렇게 부르는걸보고 따라하다 다라daughter-in-law 란 단어까지 생겨났다고 말하고 싶어졌읍니다 !
