Expertise for skills should have been done to gain off mods rather than either using skills or dumping the materials you need to put levels into them, some skills are situational and simply won't be used in a general rotation. Most effective way for gear seems to be to to use the targetted loot in countdown to focus on a specific gear set and just use your current favourite build to do the run as you seem to get progress faster from burning drops than by playing content. So for example run a turret&drone skill build or the FOTM shield one folk seem to love in order to gather eclipse as target loot. A tactic that also means you can run with something that will offset the fact that half the group could lose connection during the initial cutscene and never come back.

Hey the expertise levels are a little bit overpowered in my eyes because my crit pve build is my new pvp crit build 1,1mil armor but per bullet i am running with my ar on 2mil
Yeah my challenge, that I am sure many others deal with, is after the gear is proficient then trying to farm for the materials to increase the expertise level. Especially those printer filaments. Feels like at times you can spend hours getting electronics, poly, carbons, printer filaments...etc. and then only be able to raise 1 piece of gear by 1 expertise level. So frustrating...
There's so many ways to get the materials to build your belts as well go in the dark Zone early in the morning or just form countdown or summat you get a lot of materials back so quickly and division 2
I almost level 3, my personal way of doing it is using a build i don't have maxd and also selecting targeted loot for something i plan on doing this untill i have all the green gear sets done and then ill slowly make my way through gold gear
A question: I'm lvl 5 expertise on my 4 Heartbreaker pieces and have +5% armor on each piece! What that means? It's 20% more of my total armor i have or what that percent means? I have 1.5M total armor and how that 5% from each piece is calculated?
Once you are proficient you can upgrade by using materials to add 1% damage to proficient guns or 1% armor to proficient gear per expertise levels that you have obtained.
I know this video is pretty old now, but knowing what you do now.. would you say investing into the bonus armor is worth it or not? Or should I just stick to weapons.
I have a question. So let's say, that I have a Striker glove. The main stat of the glove is Weapon Damage, with attribute of Critical Hit Damage. Which means that the glove has no armor at all. But my total armor is, let's say 1 million. Then I leveled up the glove by 1. So the glove now has +1% armor. Does this 1%, upgrades from my total armor (which will become 1,010,000) or will it upgrade the armor of the glove piece only (which will add +0 armor to my total armor because the glove don't have armor)?
I got the motivation to start again playing the division after a 1-1,5 year break and i dont no clue how the game was working. Which build is currently strong, where can i find it, what should i do after msq, which weapons are currently strong and easy to find, should i play the capitol on legendary etc. I didnt have these problems in games like destiny 2 even d2 is kinda bigger with severe dlcs and complicated raids
Hey NBS I love your videos! I had a quick question since you’re so knowledgeable. I owned all previous Seasons but never played through and collected Scorpio or Backfire exotics. When I try to target farm I never get either only other shotgun and smg exotics. Is it possible in TU15 to get these?
I have my backpack Demeter quick stash and holster Artemis fast draw both airaldi holdings and they dont show up on the list to upgrade them. Both at at the Proficient level. Any idea why they not showing up? My knee pads are providence defense and they also don't show on the list for upgrade, they are proficient level as well.
5 but I can't upgrade my gear cause I am low on materials so I have been doing level four control points Also if you target farm in either countdown or summit it makes leveling up other gear easy so I am running and 4red 2 blue but it's a maxed build but I am target framing other gear to get more of the proficient
THE fastest way by FAR is owning 5k+ watch, keep doin a new character finishing Lords of NY (about 3-4 hours), investing ALL THE WATCH POINTS ON PRINTER FILLAMENT. Max stack is 2000 and to get an item Proficient from 0 to 10 takes exactly 2800 printer fillaments. So keep capin the max stack and dump all printer fillaments to get items proficient ( the smart move is on items u rarely use). Heads up to get a feel of it 5000 watch points is equivilent to 42.000 printer fillaments cause the watch keeps 800 allocated points, divided per 2.800 per item means you can get 15 items fully efficient gaining an average of 1,9 expertise levels per 4 hours. NOTHING BEATS THAT. Edit: like the comment so people see it
you do need 1 million for one stack of 2000 printer filaments dude which is the equivelant of 1 item to get proficient.. therefore if u dont have like 100 millions to say the least its pointless
4 people running dua on story with 6 gear pieces will give you 7 prof levels in about 10 mins. we did it on hard, takes an extra minute but gets a few more gold drops
Are the expertise levels account wide? I mean if you play with four characters, then this will take forever if you have to level them for all characters independently.
Just buy mods or farm them and deconstruct as its the cheapest way to donate mats , keep everything else for actual upgrading Some upgrade requirements need dropping down or re working
This expertise system sucks as it is. They really need to fix it. You shouldn’t need to level everything, hopefully they change that eventually or I don’t see many players utilizing it much at all.
Importen question here guys. I hope you can give me an answer. So, I have been farming a fenris chest piece with crit chance and crit damage with unbreakable for a very long time now. I wanna roll armor on it instead of weapon damage. But sad to say I have not succeded in getting one. So I decided to craft one. (Replica). And I finally got one. My question is can’t I level the item up? I’m expertise 22, but I don’t see anywhere that I can do this. 🤷🏼♂️
They said that that was the wrong way to level up expertise Donating because that caps you out Whenever bug is going around with that Someone said the best way is just to get kills with the weapons you’re using and where the piece of armor you want to level up that’s why some people are capped out at different levels
Been doing the summit on heroic with random people and just using the resources from deconstructing a lot of the pieces that I dont use. I'm at level 3
Hello, I reached level 10 so proficient with HW, then could only update to level 1 1% bonus. A friend told me that I have to actually play other builds, so I can upgrade my HW to level 2 and such.... I have a thought. This will make it not really that playable as I have 3 or 4 builds that I use, but those are the ones that in a team I was "proficient" for years with. I was my tech guy for my 4 team. I lack the full life experience to use DPS, etc. so it is really hard on me, also, I wasted over 160 exotics I had stored on my characters to upgrade my items, BUT I only managed to get expertise up, well, I have been using all those items for almost 4 years, so I wonder what would make me non-proficient, as I am god rolled and well above 1000 level, actually almost 4000.... Also I have seen as a clan Leader, my guys keep asking me in-game to donate assault rifles or other stuff so that they can upgrade...... I wonder, I also need those, and I have seen a drop in "ITEM SHARING" which in a team is a way to play and grow a multiplayer game. UBISOFT managed to turn a multiplayer online game to a single player beggars game, apart from my hard players, my other 20 or so, keep asking to donate all sorts of items to them for this, and as a Clan Leader, I told them that everyone else needs the same so wait the game, lets concentrate on the new RAID or the new season, but they all go after pieces anyway.....! and that is UBISOFT's fault, now not only I have to play builds I had no interest in playing as we played as a team both in PVE and PVP, but I also now have to service all the needs of my players who otherwise will look elsewhere.....! Good job UBISOFT for breaking a multiplayer game, making a multiplayer only in name but now it is a free for all get all you can, as otherwise you dont upgrade! Sorry, I will play with my few people, some are also on the photos in the WH, but I almost cannot join a clan member and he does not beg for me to go summit and choose X, Y, Z, item that they need to upgrade... It is driving me a core player away! And as a supporter of Ubisoft since they started making games, and paying full price and 100 pts for games to max package to help them develop, and even when we got this update I got the season pass, but then I see 3 years of stacking exotics do not even allow me update them all to level 1!!!!!! They really screwed this up.. I could understand expertise as in, donate a AR get some xp on AR, but not on a single item! We are supposed to be elite fighters, like the SEALS, Marine Recon, Delta Force, SAS, SBS, Royal Dutch Marines, Italian Col Moschin and Folgore, and we cannot distinguish one shotgun from another????? Hell, I even participated in the CISM military olympics, and we all could use all wepons around, sure some are experts in some, but we were all fully proficient. A remington, a Franchi, a benelli (US military choice Shotgun base) or Beretta, still are the same either autos of pump...... SO why harass players with having to run other builds? Does a Ubidoft executive go to the restaurant with "our" money in his pocket and when he asks for fish he gets told by management that to also have fish for his wife he has to eat a Tbone?????? See what I mean?????
@@joshuamoore83 Well, donated over 160 exotics and about 500 named and Gold pieces, still leveling to get max 1% or 2% so best would probably be the gathering / farming of items in countdown (which therefore would be in essence forcing to use said game mode) and grab as much stuff you can, pray it fits with your upgrade schedule and go forth for a few months like that, without following a story, simply machine farming.... That is what I am against, even my clan members, well apart from the real core ones, when playing they "beg" for ARs or this or that, and for me, ruin the game experience.... Tried even matchmaking with same result, people join, and whenever we get drops, they see what I get and the begging starts..... It is frustrating when all you wish to do is play the game either PVE or PVP, without this atmosphere of being in a Middle Easter Market..... That is all......
They expertise thing is kindve cool but it's scuffed. If expertise carries over to pvp which it likely does, it's gonna be even more unbalanced. We got set builds for our pvp and our pve so we gotta go out the way and level up stuff we don't even use to level up overall proficiency.Ok
The expertise system is just not really work it i appreciate that the devs have given us another thing to grind for to level up our gear but a few tiny increases are just not worth worrying about
@@eoso8739 try buy the weapons from vendor and donate, if you got the cash to burn. Otherwise keep doing countdown with a good team, will net you good amount of weapon to donate.
OK but you didn't actually mention content or difficulty level. I literally just reinstalled a few hours ago, did the first available manhunt dork and my weekly SHD project. All on Normal mode because I'm still getting back into the swing of things and I never really got to optimizing any of my builds before losing interest in D2 (I love where the plot is going btw) So, with regards to expertise - particularly with Skills, do you know if/how it scales? Is there any particular piece of content that would be optimal to spam (probably Countdown I imagine if nothing else because of all the loot) and do you need to get kills on enemies etc. Like some skills aren't even lethal or support the party, so do they go up after you or the group kills a mob or is it based on number of uses or how much of the effect you get (i.e. armor repaired or damage blocked). Sorry for the longass comment
It's a bit more complex though. The overall expertise level is the sum of all expertise levels across all items. That seems to exclude skills, even though skills have expertise levels. Consider exotics. Five are garbage, four are ok, four are good, the rest are stellar. But you have to rank them all up to 20 if you want to raise the two you use up to 20. Me, I set a target of 16 rather than 20 for everything. Now if you redo Wony after reaching Watch rank 1000, it only gives you 200 for expertise leveling, which isn't enough to raise an exotic completely. The minimum you should have is a 2000 Watch before redoing Wony, which is about enough to fully raise 3 exotics.
Has anybody noticed that summit loot drops are bug I was farming summit for a fenris chest piece with amor core 2 reds chc and chd with unbreakable and instead I ended up with 45 chest pieces of fenris with mad bomber with the same red cores?not once did a blue core chest piece drop at all so I ran it this morning with my pals and they keep getting fenris with unbreakable with yellow main core and with 2 blues hazard protection and armor regen????

A tactic that also means you can run with something that will offset the fact that half the group could lose connection during the initial cutscene and never come back.
We can also buy weapons or equipments from the vendor and donate them too but cost a lot
yeah I reroll a lot of items so I"m ingame poor
The gear pieces do they level up just by wearing them and just standing around or do you have to be in combat for them to earn XP to upgrade?
Be in combat
killing stuff
Another awesome video. But what is that helmet you're wearing and how do I get it?
Great to return bk to the game after over 2 years, to be SHD 40(I was 1000+) and 3 missing loadouts. GG Ubisoft. Now we still have to deal with Deltas and shitty expertise.
I'm running a hybrid build
Setup Backpack (Perfect Opportunist)
Ridgeway Pride Chest
Groupo Sombra Holster
Gila Knee Pads
Sokolov Mask and Gloves
I'll go back and for between a Sokolov Mask and Bellstone mask for survivability from time to time
But mainly I stick to Sokolov Mask
Expertise Level 2
Running The Apartment and Scorpio (With The Setup)
1.4 mil armor, 105k weapon damage
60 percent CHC and 166 percent CHD
It works in countdown
I'll switch out the Setup Backpack for a Uzina Getica Backpack with Vigilance (Re Rolled for Weapon Damage) that I have for solo play
I notice tho, 8 of us can be focusing firing on a hunter and he goes right for me 95 percent of the time 🤷♂️
Hey the expertise levels are a little bit overpowered in my eyes because my crit pve build is my new pvp crit build 1,1mil armor but per bullet i am running with my ar on 2mil
Farm skill attachments on summit easy to get a ton
I cant seem to find the extend mag for 7.62 any tips tried 2 control points 1 project I dont get it
There's so many ways to get the materials to build your belts as well go in the dark Zone early in the morning or just form countdown or summat you get a lot of materials back so quickly and division 2
what is that mask/helmet you are wearing in the beginning? Can you still get that?
I almost level 3, my personal way of doing it is using a build i don't have maxd and also selecting targeted loot for something i plan on doing this untill i have all the green gear sets done and then ill slowly make my way through gold gear
Thanks gresat intro to expertise... just come back after getting fed up with same old same old.... now for something new at last!!!
Hey where did you get that cool apparel please ?
A question: I'm lvl 5 expertise on my 4 Heartbreaker pieces and have +5% armor on each piece! What that means? It's 20% more of my total armor i have or what that percent means? I have 1.5M total armor and how that 5% from each piece is calculated?
5% of that base armor roll of that one piece
@@NothingButSkillz ok thx 👍
Thanks for the tips on the Espatees sysum.
What does Proficiency No Upgrades Active means? What do I have to do to get it activated?
It means you have gained all proficiency levels for that set or item. Once proficient, no further experience mat be gained with it/them.
Weapons first 100% armor if you pvp but to 11 in fine
@@NothingButSkillz appreciate the response 🤙🏻
Skills, that is sick apparel. Is that from this update?
Where did u get the armor, mask and helmet from bro?
Where’d you get that vanity set from?
How do you level up your expertise when your proficient in a set weapon or gear set?
Lvl up OTHER sets, exotics and weapons.
@@joshuamoore83 so to upgrade you have to be proficient in everything to make the upgrades higher levels?
@@dtxgaming5901 not necessarily, but you need to reach Expertise level 20 to gain full use of adding expertise tanks to your items.
@nothingbutskillz why my kingbreaker don’t look like that mines is the tkb-408
Warlords of New York Ultimate Edition is on sale for 16$ is it worth it, I'm just getting into the THE DIVISION 2
No it's full of bugs etc.
@@diamond21450 damn, thanks
it is worth it i feel it makes the difference if not you will be out of the loop.
Definitely worth it at that price especially for as much content it has for beginners.
@@NothingButSkillz the whole loop is broken, totally sucks.
You have bad luck. Those items have been part of the general loot pool since the season following their addition to the game.
the scorpio drops on boxes.. backfire im not sure but I think its form dZ
Great vid this is one of the best explained video on this topic !! Big help Thanks Skillz 👊🏼💥
Thanks but I don't get it, my question what does proficient armor will get you?
extra armor
I have my backpack Demeter quick stash and holster Artemis fast draw both airaldi holdings and they dont show up on the list to upgrade them. Both at at the Proficient level. Any idea why they not showing up? My knee pads are providence defense and they also don't show on the list for upgrade, they are proficient level as well.
5 but I can't upgrade my gear cause I am low on materials so I have been doing level four control points
Also if you target farm in either countdown or summit it makes leveling up other gear easy so I am running and 4red 2 blue but it's a maxed build but I am target framing other gear to get more of the proficient
Great video bro❤❤❤🎉
thank you
THE fastest way by FAR is owning 5k+ watch, keep doin a new character finishing Lords of NY (about 3-4 hours), investing ALL THE WATCH POINTS ON PRINTER FILLAMENT. Edit: like the comment so people see it
The rate is better if you buy the mods and destruct them.
you do need 1 million for one stack of 2000 printer filaments dude which is the equivelant of 1 item to get proficient.. therefore if u dont have like 100 millions to say the least its pointless
Love your videos man. You are a huge inspiration for me right now in this game and in my content on my channel. Thank you
So does increasing the expertise level what increases the damage numbers on weapons?
How do you get your mask (equipement, not costume) to be visible ingame?
It's an option in inventory
I’m having issues with Striker expertise. Is it disabled?
4 people running dua on story with 6 gear pieces will give you 7 prof levels in about 10 mins. we did it on hard, takes an extra minute but gets a few more gold drops
Maybe they need to rework this system.
Are the expertise levels account wide? I mean if you play with four characters, then this will take forever if you have to level them for all characters independently.
yes they are they share the same expertise
@@NothingButSkillz thank you! 👌😊
My build stayed the same for 14 months lol
how do you expertise the chatterbox sems really slow for me
so after all that is it as simple as get proficient in lots of stuff and your expertise will go up?
if you have over 2000shd i do what i've done donate resources then refill using shd rinse repeat took about 30mins and i was lvl4
Just buy mods or farm them and deconstruct as its the cheapest way to donate mats , keep everything else for actual upgrading
Some upgrade requirements need dropping down or re working
This expertise system sucks as it is. They really need to fix it. You shouldn’t need to level everything, hopefully they change that eventually or I don’t see many players utilizing it much at all.
I don't see any donation options for the kingbreaker why? I have another kingbreaker to donate and materials
So do i need to level al items to be able to get higher expertise level, i cant just full level one set of gear to Max then do another build?
I’m very confused with all this
Been doing the summit on heroic with random people and just using the resources from deconstructing a lot of the pieces that I dont use. I'm at level 3
Level 1 expertise I grind when I can. Also what are the advantages of doing all of this thanks.
It's faster to gain proficiency through donation than play. No one is forcing you to do anything.
I wanted to ask if I gave a team mate a weapon that I leveled up to my expertise level. Will this weapon perform at my expertise level?
I noticed that gear that is already proficient will drop proficient.
How do i get my expertise level 4 St Elmos up higher? I've been using the heck out of it and its not allowing me to go any higher than lvl 4
when i go to the expertize system im not seeing my strikers pieces do you no why keep the content coming its very helpful 👍
So in a simple version get a build or weapons to proficient and then deconstruct them to gain expertise level faster?
They expertise thing is kindve cool but it's scuffed. If expertise carries over to pvp which it likely does, it's gonna be even more unbalanced. We got set builds for our pvp and our pve so we gotta go out the way and level up stuff we don't even use to level up overall proficiency.Ok
How did u get that helmet?!
The expertise system is just not really work it i appreciate that the devs have given us another thing to grind for to level up our gear but a few tiny increases are just not worth worrying about
Just gotten to expertise 5 and 5% weapon dmg is not tiny….
How so fast ?
@@eoso8739 try buy the weapons from vendor and donate, if you got the cash to burn. Otherwise keep doing countdown with a good team, will net you good amount of weapon to donate.
What helmet & mask are you wearing Skillz?
OK but you didn't actually mention content or difficulty level.
I literally just reinstalled a few hours ago, did the first available manhunt dork and my weekly SHD project. All on Normal mode because I'm still getting back into the swing of things and I never really got to optimizing any of my builds before losing interest in D2 (I love where the plot is going btw)
So, with regards to expertise - particularly with Skills, do you know if/how it scales?
Has anybody noticed that summit loot drops are bug I was farming summit for a fenris chest piece with amor core 2 reds chc and chd with unbreakable and instead I ended up with 45 chest pieces of fenris with mad bomber with the same red cores?not once did a blue core chest piece drop at all so I ran it this morning with my pals and they keep getting fenris with unbreakable with yellow main core and with 2 blues hazard protection and armor regen????
im pretty dumb, and still dont get what the actual benefits for expertise level is. it says 1% Armor, for 1 level. is that all you get? are you supposed to be a certain expertise level to access certain things, other wise whats the point it.
My gear says rank 10 but it wont let me upgrade. It says i dont have enough expertise? Do i have to go past 10 before it allows me to upgrade?
Whats your appearance loadout?
Bro, how much xp do u need to earn in game to level up on expertise? Is it in line with shd level increase?
I've been looking for the answer to this
You're a good teacher bro
I try
The fastest way to level up expertise is pursuing Parnell with emp equipped
Can you explain?
is the expertise leevl and upgrade level two different aspects?
Yes you level it to proficient then you upgrade it
