  • I promised I would make this tutorial if my "4 Levels of Orchestral Music: Noob to Hans Zimmer" video reached 250k views.
    It's now at 400k views, so I had to publish this.
    Let's talk about how Hans Zimmer (and many other composers & producers) create hype and tension in their music. Explained in FL Studio.

    Before the "but Klaus Badelt wrote He's A Pirate" comments flow in:
    I think this specific arrangement is a Medley that plays during the credits at the end of the third movie, which was scored by Hans Zimmer & his team (Drink Up Me Hearties Yo Ho).
    While the arrangement itself contains the theme by Klaus Badelt, I think the passage I explained here was added in this HZ Arrangement.
    That's why I credit it to the Hans Zimmer gang.

    • @SomniatorSound
      @SomniatorSound 3 года назад +1

      I thought Zimmer wrote hes a pirate in the end? I recall reading that Badelt did the rest of the soundtrack, but zimmer made just the one track as the end credits piece as they were working in the same building at the time.

    • @TheJakeSweede
      @TheJakeSweede 3 года назад

      I think hans wrote the original theme as well, im pretty sure he was involved with the music in the first pirates movie on some way before Klaus took over.

      @@TheJakeSweede From what I've heard Hans was had signed a non-compete for another movie and thus couldn't work on Black Pearl but spent a night and wrote the main theme and gave it to Badelt to continue

Please, consider making a video on orchestral transitions, on how to change from one melody/chord progression into a different on without sounding too random. I can usually put together a nice progression, but when I want to add a different melody, change the theme of the song a bit to make it more interesting, the song just falls apart :( I think a lot of other beginners struggle with this one too

To test different DAWs/plugins and to dedust my "ancient" arrangement skills (25 years ago) I try to arrange orchestrate some parts a film scores and maybe change them a bit to my taste.
