How does an arthritic seagull get into a bag of crisps? What do oysters do to a bloodhound’s brain? Is pet food as tasty as it looks, and if a pigeon ate chicken, would that make it a cannibal? Peel back the lid to discover who visited your dustbin last night.
Nick Park’s Creature Comforts took the classic documentary style and applied it to the lives of wild animals and pets, matching a cast of clay characters with human voices to charming effect. Originating from Nick’s 1989 Academy Award®-winning short film, Creature Comforts was unique for using unscripted vox-pop interviews with the British public in a stop motion series that has become an Aardman classic.
The success of the short film led to two TV series, which broadcast on ITV, and an iconic series of commercials for the Electricity Board’s ‘Heat Electric’ campaign. Creature Comforts also went across the pond to the USA where the unique format was used once again to tell real-life stories from people in America. The claymation characters portray very human traits and contemplate absurdities of the universe such as, ""Do bald eagles ever feel self-conscious?"" and ""What makes pigs feel sexy?""

Adding animations to real audio of people talking has always been very entertaining. Remember Penny? The little claymation girl and her hilarious childish musings? It amazes me that there isnt more of this kind of content.
I came back to see one of these episodes thanks to a clip of the tiny mouse calmly eating an MnM, just to come out giddy and excited discovering they actually animated a Pigeon with a Jamaican woman's accent. Even as something so simple it just gave a whiplash of Euphoria, speaking as a Jamaican over in America. There is a huge Caribbean community over in the UK so I just thought it was so charming to see! :D
Jamaica is a paradise!!
Am i the only one who calls the animation style The Wallace & Gromit style?

Man I love this. I wish we had a full Aardman Channel in the USA to see all this stuff.
I wish we still had the Qubo channel. In the USA, they don't have kids channels to play foreign kids shows anymore. They used to have Qubo channel, which had a lot of shows from around the world, mostly Canada and the UK. Since you mentioned Aardman, I'll let you know that Shaun the sheep used to be on Disney channel and Disney Junior, but they started to get greedy as Aardman got bigger (This was before Early Man and that pirates movie came out) and Disney's like "screw it" so they removed it. They used to used to have a British CGI kids show called Jungle Junction where the little animal characters were all on wheels and it was freaking adorable, but they got rid of that. They also got rid of Koala Brothers and Jojo's Circus, because evidently those were made in the UK even tho everyone sounded extremely American. Now they only show kids shows made by Disney, and most of their stuff is boring Sophia the first.

That small clip, nay this experience, has changed my life perspective. The simplicity of the piece, and yet the complexity of the message is awe-inspiring. The video is a critique of modern-day living. The video starts with a gray mouse, eating what is described as "Chocolate". The chocolate has a red color, which can symbolize life, and the mouse eating the chocolate, as aging. With a mundane look on his face, and a few bites, we repeat the cycle, indicating a new day has come. Every day, we see him with the same color of chocolate, with a yellow chocolate and green chocolate being just out of reach. The yellow chocolate may symbolize happiness, and green symbolizing renewal. This may indicate that happiness is out of reach, and that the days that are passing, will never come back.
Another way of interpreting the video, is that the mouse is eating the red chocolate as a metaphor for trying to achieve something. The red chocolate may indicate that the mouse is trying to find love, as both chocolate and red is connected to love. The repeating of which is the passing of days. In front of him is a pink chocolate, this may symbolize femininity, as he is always looking at it before taking a bite out of the red chocolate. This may therefore again symbolize him attempting to find love. Again, the yellow chocolate is out of reach, indicating that the mouse is not contempt, and that happiness is something that is out of reach. (Original concept by CallMeJesper)
