We're having fun with this instrumental series!!! Are you?
Heck yeah, gotta check out "the crusade" by Trivium, good shit
Wonderful song and initiative!! Looking forward for the next song on the list. Actually, I found this song/band on a metal songlist on one of the online streaming apps (don’t know if I can mention it), and it caught my atention right away. This is one of the best modern progbands!! 👍👍
(Just you wont forget, try Arcane - Promise Part 2😌)
See you guys!! 👋
There is a whole Rock/Metal Genre called POST ROCK ....all Bands are Instrumental Bands.I can give you several Names, but i think the japanese Band MONO tops them all.Three Men and a Woman on Bass Guitar. They played a whole Concert with the New York Symphony Orchestra. The whole Concert is Online on youtube....check out this one : Mono - Pure As Snow (Trails Of The Winter Storm) / / Holy Ground: NYC Live : ruclips.net/video/NjNlH0BsRRY/видео.html ......
@@roheveli I'll mention that I heard this song for the first time on a Spotify mix. I was flabbergasted by it!
@@ingovonderluhe2174 Nice! Never heard of Post Rock!
CAFO: Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation.
yooo your kids smart as hell to have picked up on "no bass, both low-end guitarists and one focuses on low-end and the other on high"
He also had the prog head bang down that takes practice
You think headbangin to that one part is hard? Try drumming to it. Matt Garstka is INSANELY undrrated. If you listen carefully he's keeping 2 different tempos while still keeping in time, which happens to be an ODD time signatere. Utterly amazing.
These are three awesome musicians for sure. Makes you wonder whether they could make it even bigger by adding a vocalist...
@@ChemicalReactions I don't think it's necessary.
A vocalist couldn't figure out when to come in LOL... It would be like attempting to sing over dialup modem noise
They don't really play "guitar and bass", they basically both do double duty since they're both on 8 string guitars. You should really check out some of their live videos and watch them play, its rather spectacular. They may even have midi pickups on their 8 strings to get some of the keyboard sounds.
I'll definitely have to check out some lives to see how it's done.
Lol Kurt killed using Aqua Net in metal and Lars killed using recognizable bass tone in metal
Two 8 strings and drums, saw them live a year or so. Great show.
I bet!
8 strings is just too much
@@prs149 Nope its not
Every member of this band is on point. Master level.
Thomas Fuller For sure!
?!
Superb progressive metal. You don't need lyrics when the music is that good. Has Raph ever listened to Steve Vai? Joe Satriani? I recommend Toska if you want some new progressive metal from the UK. Rabea Masaad is a fabulous guitarist.
Apparently not yet! Good thing we're doing this series!
Hey, I live in Anne Arundel County, MD; close to downtown DC. And to know such outstanding talent has come out of the nation's capital is refreshing 🎸🎶🔉🔊🤘🔥
My wife just told me to make sure that I tell your son that his smile is adorable.😁👶
these guys are equally great live !!! great tune for sure - you need to give Plini and Intervals a listen as well, way more melodic and bright !!!
Plini - Paper Moon live in North America
Intervals - By Far and Away
Intervals(Aaron) and Plini, After playing guitar for 40 years, are better players to me
David Shryock the compositions they create are magical !! They both are extraordinary !!
"Wait how are they from Washington D.C.? People live there?" LMAO i died. this kid is great!
blufox24 Apparently I don’t exist lol
And live, they are amazing! Go and see them!!
Polyphia - G.O.A.T. (Official video)
They need to come back and do that song. It's been a while. Don't know what happened.
Bad Brains, Minor Threat, Fugazi, Henry Rollins... Lots of Go-Go bands... Loads of hip-hop also comes from DC/Baltimore Area
Dean Smith and Dave Grohl just outside on the VA side
There is usually a bass part in Animals as Leaders music. You can hear it in CAFO pretty clearly. But they play to a backing track live, so they have no live bassist.
7:45 the moment Chuck realizes he has failed to have shown his son the epic instrumental “Orion”. Makes me wonder if the birds and the bees talk has happened yet 🧐
C.O.D.💀 OG
Orion is not any where near epic
David Shryock oooh... what’s your favorite jam dude?
I seen them perform this live in June, and they really are that good, it's insane
Legit impressed your son kept with the beat the entire song. Its easy to lose it when they start with the polyrythms.
I saw that too
angra - carolina iv
Check out pelican. They are more atmospheric but one of the most technical bands I've heard
03:30 he felt the time and kept counting with his head. Great... Its hard if you try but easy if you feel
Metal has almost always been pretty diverse, but not as many bands with members that weren't white or occasionally Latino (Hispanic, Brazilian, etc.). The earliest bands I learned that had black metal musicians were Black Death, Sound Barrier, and Stone Vengence. Tosin Abasi, according to some, is considered the best modern guitarist out there. One of the pioneers of modern heavy metal of the NWOBHM, Judas Priest, has Rob Halford, a gay singer. While not metal (aside from some songs), Queen's singer Freddy Mercury was pretty revolutionary on the diversity side as far as being of South Asian descent and gay, yet being one of the biggest bands of all time.
That said, I'm still working on my list of bands with black members (mostly metal and hardcore, some punk and hard rock).
Headbanging to this kind of thing isn't as hard as you'd think. You just have to listen for the particular drum/cymbal that's hitting the quarter, eighth or sixteenth notes. In a lot of cases it's a crash/china I think. So even though the riff might be in 9/4 or 13/4 there's still a quarter note to nod your head to!
You should check out "22:22 Nihil" by Ghost Brigade, amazing instrumental. And of course "The Crusade" by Trivium
In the Video you see, Navene Koperweis was on drums. Now Matt Garstka plays the drums...
Wow, they look fairly similar.
The studio version you listened to has programmed drums, the drummer that featured in this clip isn't with the band anymore but he played this material live. Tosin made their first album practically all by himself. Misha Mansoor (from Periphery) helped with the programming of the drums, allegedly. All bass parts that feature on their songs are played live on a backing track along with many synth parts, either Javier or Tosin tracks them in the studio. Their current drummer Matt Garstka is someone to check out maybe, he's been a driving force behind their latest records providing equal input as the other two. ruclips.net/video/yUMYJF-_gm0/видео.html
Try... (Explosions In The Sky - A Song For Our Fathers), Or (Irepress - Adeluge) Beautiful compositions that warm the heart. Be nice to see them reviewed and introduce to a wider audience.
oh dear you need to see tosin play The Woven Web Reaction..lol he plays the 8 string as bass with lead.
Do a reaction on Rammlied please!
I think it's easy enough to figure out the band...
Check out some of their live sessions! They actually play these songs live!
Try some Haken, it's like this with great vocals and lyrics
Do "zoinks!" By John 5 next
Please react to Periphery-Reptile!
Let me quote the Steve T "Is this what modern pop radio has done to people, they can`t take a 20 second of a song with no lyrics. Where is this world comming to" :) Cause I`am a metal dad too, keep the good job for teaching the kids and audience to proper music culture! Animals as Leader are one of the best instrumentalist ever, you could here them in live, they are such good at all. I suggest you react to one of my favorite bands Volbeat, with tneir live Volbeat - The Devil's Bleeding Crown - Live at Tusindarsskoven, Odense 2015 ruclips.net/video/zxXbNr7XC8Y/видео.html
I just wish I could play anything I would be amazing 😜
This is only three people two
Also check out nephele by animals as leaders
Or witch house by scale the summit
And acid rain by liquid tension experiment
Another one you could react is DREAM THEATER The Dance Of Eternity ruclips.net/video/8Ik9qECIWgc/видео.html
KillingMachine It’s on our list (in the description)
React to Angra - Streets of Tomorrow
ruclips.net/video/DWfg5BhYL5I/видео.html The Second Song ist Cafo :-)
CHON pls
I like instrumentals, but sometimes they need context (the Great Gig in the Sky is an amazing track but without the context of the whole album its hard to understand when you hear it), this is great musical ability and talent, but I need to hear more of the bands music to put it in a context that allows a fair judgement.
89 Metom's musically better than Orion
Animals as leaders are very talented musicians, but the thing that makes me not really listen to them is the lack in composition.
I feel like the transitions are quite hard and some parts are just to repetitive.
Will probably get some of that back from Animals as leaders fans if they decide to react to Versailles - Faith and decision or Silent Knight, but that's just my opinion.
Exactly couldn't have said it better, mostly noises to me and I've been listening to instrumental guitar since 70s (I'm 55,know what I'm talking about)!
Nice song. If you want even faster guitar playing; listen to Dragonforce.
DragonForce are overrated guitar players... Fact not fiction
In the Video you see, Navene Koperweis was on drums. Now Matt Garstka plays the drums...
