This is a piece from "Shout for Joy - A Choral Festival", which culminated the 10th anniversary reunion of Oasis Chorale. The festival was held at Bethany Mennonite Church in Hartville, Ohio on August 11, 2013.
I hope the Mennonites never lose their love for singing together.
He who sings from his heart, he prays twice. (M.Luther)
My grip on my faith is tenuous but this miracle of voices helps me…..thank you. See you in heaven.
Third verse… My sin, O the bliss of this glorious thought, my sin, not in part, but the whole, IS NAILED TO THE CROSS AND I BEAR IT NO MORE!, Amazing truth for Believers
The arrangement is good, but the simple full rich singing of the first minute with traditional simple harmony directed to the listeners is, for me overwhelmingly beautiful.
Greetings from this member of the Pinehill Church of Christ. There is nothing more perfect than praise by voices united in love. Oh when the sky be rolled back as a scroll, may we meet in the air!
🙏 am also a member of the Churches of Christ.. 🙏
I long for the days when I was a member of the high school chorus and the Bainbridge Naval Choir! I loved to sing along with others and got to love choral music because of those times. This choir is not only beautiful to listen to but beautiful to look at; the leader has complete control and the audience is able to understand every word. Keep up the good work in God's name and His Son!
I came from an Amish/Mennonite background and miss the beautiful. APELLA singing
Gorgeous.
WOW!! We worship God with an acapella worship too and in my 63 years here on earth, I think that this was one of the most well-done renditions of this great hymn. Too bad it had to come to an end!!
My grandma's funeral. Most peaceful song. Sadness left.
True worship never ends with an applause. It's never a performance, but a worship to God!! VERY WELL DONE!!!!!
Clap your hands, all you peoples;
shout to God with loud songs of joy. - Psalm 47:1
We really don't know what "true worship" is. Only God can ordain true worship. That is why we seek to worship in Spirit and Truth and Love, without judgment or assumed holy pronouncements. If applause is a spiritual response to an act of worship, I feel the applause becomes an act of worship.
It is well with my soul. Beautiful and sweet to the soul. Blessing and greetings frm Australia 🙏🏿
One of my favorite hymns. This arrangement is so well written and the choir sings it beautifully. I have to return and listen to it quite often. Makes me think how wonderful it will be to sing in heaven.
Thank you for posting this video on RUclips. You blessed my day and many of the people who came to my FB page today. Peace and joy.
I've been out of church for 4 weeks since having surgery. This hymn reminds me I'm OK in Christ.
This is beautiful...
Absolutely splendid!
I've heard dozens of arrangements of this sacred song and I have to say that this is one of the best I've ever heard. Thank you for this memorable musical interpretation.
I agree completely!!!!!

Beautiful. But my favorite is the first verse, with the congregation! :-)

Is there full music score for this? Please pm
Oh, and there's a Hersheburger that's the aunt to one of my best friends :)
why the hell is he conducting to the audience instead of to the choir
The audience is helping on verse one.
In my church it is common for the song leader to "direct" the congregation as well as the choir. With over 1,000 for a Sunday morning service, the congregation benefits from the directing. Most folks read music and also know the music/words so congregational singing is like being part of a huge choir.
Congregational singing is not "LIKE" being part of the choir ... rather it IS part of the choir. "All God's creatures got a place in the choir, some sing low and some sing higher,"
some sing up on the telephone wire,
some just clap their hands, paws or anything they got (now)...

This is nice but on the fast side of the music or this song.
