Ball position and attack angle. We can make it easier or harder...

  • Attack angle will be affected if we move the ball back or forward. There is also a limit too how much forward we can move it when we hit our driver.
    Online lesson are now a possibility on Skillest: skillest.com/a...
    Let me help you get an effortless golfswing with speed and accuracy. I call it the circle of speed. A good release will help you to a better impact and longer drives and irons without slice and hook. How to swing a golf club need to be adjusted to your skill level and experience.
    Long and straight is the goal for everyone but it takes time. Try to focus on one thing not everything when you practise. Impact, face control and swingpath will always be the most important part to drill. We focus too much on rotation but no good golf shot will be executed just by rotating.
    I’m naturally right handed but all my tips works for both left handed and right handed golfers playing either way.
    We also need to understand that many myths in golf are misleading. Everything that you find on the internet isn’t true. Ben Hogan, Sam Snead are two of the legends that are often misunderstood. To understand golf we need to take it step by step and learn every part of the swing before we move on to the next. It's like a big jigsaw puzzle that we all can figure out.
    Some pro's that hit draw: Rory McIroy, Xander Schauffele, Patrick Reed, Sepp Straka and many, many more.
    We shall not keep our head still, only start with the hips, look only at the ball or keep the left or right arm straight. Understand what do do with the club and let your body find the best way possible.
    If you use callaway, ping, titleist or taylor made clubs doesn’t matter you can learn to hit good golf shots. Your loft or your shaft on the club will not change but you can always get better.
    Find what inspires you. Golf basics are the same for everyone. The pga tour, longdrivers or other good golfers can all help you find better golf shots. Watch what they do instead of listed to what they say. Listen mostly to your body and figure out what you need to do to produce the same results as the pros on TV. Be careful when you watch a golf swing in slow motion. The result isn't always what the golfer is trying to do. Feel and real are seldom the same.
    Mike Malaska, Mike Austin, Mike Dunaway, Pete Cowen and Steve Pratt are some of my favorite golf instructors online. Find the tips that make your golf better. Decide what you want to hit. I teach a draw but many like a fade and nobody likes a hook or slice.
    Your hips or your lag is not the key to golf. Your hands will decide the shot and you can do like Tiger Woods and trust your hands. Teach your hands to hit different shots. Hit big hooks and slices to understand what happens. Only straight is not gonna teach you anything.
    Bryson Dechambeu and Kyle Birkshire can inspire you to hit it longer. Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson can give you inspiration and motivation to test new things and new golf shots. Linn Grant, Viktor Hovland and Ludvig Aberg can show you the future of golf.
    The Masters, Players Championship, The Players, The Open and US Open can make you love golf even more. See the best in the world solve all the problems we all need to master any golf course. Golf is a craft and you need fantasy, feel and skills to master it.
    Questions my videos will answer:
    How to swing faster. How to hit longer. How to swing faster. How to hit your irons better. How to be better at anything. How to master the circle of speed. How to get a better short game. How to hit your wedge better. How to release the golf club. How to rotate in golf. Best tips for beginner golfers. How to hit down on the ball. How to hit up on the ball. How to rotate hips in the golf swing. How to hit straight every time. How to stop slicing. How to swing effortlessly.

    Now it’s time to putt these pictures to work

    Marcus, thank you for this series.
    A little over a year ago, you announced you would be ceasing videos for a while while you dealt with cancer, andI I know I speak for everyone in here when I say how happy we were to find out you beat it because you are one of the best human beings we have on RUclips, yet alone golf instructors).
    On the day before that announcement. I asked you if we could get some more short game videos, which you replied were definitely going to be on the list of videos to make when you came back.
    I don’t know if I speak for everyone regarding this, but I know I am still very much looking forward to a series of short game videos, from chipping and pitching to green side bunker play. I know you’ve made I think one on each part, I think a series could be great. I realize that the weather in Sweden is not conducive to this right now, but I just wanted to put it back on your radar (so to speak).
    Thanks again for all you go for us on your RUclips channel. When you say “My friends” I always feel that way.

      I haven't forgot about the wishes but last year was a nightmare and I am still recovering and trying to get back to good health. If the upcoming controls are positive there will be short game videos when the weather allow for it. 👍

      I know the weather doesn’t permit it right now, and there isn’t any rush. Just was checking to see if it still was on your list was all.
      Thanks!!!😊

    Another good video Marcus! Lee Trevino constantly advises that most golfers have the ball too far forward in their stance.

    Great mini series Marcus as always. Many modern coaches are promoting a give blood positioning of your trail arm (facing up) at setup. It’s supposed to help keeping the club at front of you rather than behind, can you share your view on this aspect please vs for example just a natural position of your trail arm? Thanks in advance for your view. Best J

    • @GolfwithMarcusEdblad
      @GolfwithMarcusEdblad  6 дней назад +1

      I can't do a recommendation about that because I don't see the benefit. Everyday I see arms at set up being slightly different but still producing good golf shots. Set up is very personal and will differ a lot just buy making a slight change in the grip. I think you will find that position of the trail arm in combination with a strong grip.

    Ball position is my biggest variable and cause of heavy or thin contact. I will work on moving everything to just back of center during warmups and adjust for my swing that day.

    • @GolfwithMarcusEdblad

      Ball position will only make a good contact possible. We all need to learn to bring the club to the ball in a correct way. Watch this:

      @ I watched the video and it makes sense to use hand eye coordination to deliver the club to the ball. I also know from experience that my body moves a little differently each time I golf, and like the idea of starting with a neutral or middle position and learn my best contact position during my warmup session.

    I tried too move the ball slightly back and suddenly my long time problems with driver impact disappeared. Weird when my instructor told me to move it forward but now it works. Thanks.

    Once again thanks! Moving the ball back really has helped keep me from sliding my head forward in the downswing. My question:: I find myself setting up 40-60 front foot to back foot and stay kind of on my rear foot until impact with pretty good results. Should I continue? My finish is always up and over my lead shoulder.

      It is the hardest part of the swing and I think that is the reason why you are struggling. I think of a circle going back and I think the circle of speed videos are the most helpful. I will probably talk about it again soon but have you seen this:

    Hi Marcus, I've experimented with ball position with my driver, in the middle I tended to either block way right or hook, to get the most consistent result I play it about an inch or 2.5 cm inside my left in step.

    thank you Marcus learned again some good things. I have a question, could you do a video about effect of wrist angles in up an down swing? As they also have a major influence on club path and attack angle.

    • @GolfwithMarcusEdblad

      That my friend is something I talk about in every release video. This is one of them:

    • @fransvandewiel
      @fransvandewiel 6 дней назад +1

      @GolfwithMarcusEdblad yes the release is one of the wrist actions, but what about wrist angles at top of back swing and impact. There are two wrist movement hinge and unhinge and flex and extending. (I hope that you understand what I mean with flex and extending. For instance not enough flexing at the top makes it much difficult to swing from the inside. To much extension at impact caused flipping and less compression. I would like to know your advice for wrist position at top op the backswing and at impact.

    • @GolfwithMarcusEdblad
      @GolfwithMarcusEdblad  6 дней назад +1

      @@fransvandewiel Nobody can recommend the wrist position at the top without also look at the grip and the mobility of the golfer.
      I don't look at the wrist at the top but how the wrist needs to be positioned to get the club in the right position. The club is the important part not the wrist.
      I have been thinking of a video on the subject but I'm still thinking about it.

    • @fransvandewiel
      @fransvandewiel 6 дней назад +1

      @@GolfwithMarcusEdblad indeed getting the cluhead in the right position is the goal. I tried different wrist positions in top of the back swing and it has a big effect on the club path and face to path and can make it easier to get the clubhead in right position at impact but also on clubhead speed. I agree releasing at the right moment is a must but unfortunately not enough for a good shot.Wrist positions play an important role.

    • @GolfwithMarcusEdblad
      @GolfwithMarcusEdblad  6 дней назад +1

      @@fransvandewiel Then you have found the wrist position you need to get the club in the right position. Sadly that is not universal and everyone needs to do the journey you have done. Good job.

    I have watched your entire series and still can not hit the ball inside only using arms followed by body. Then one day I realized you have not mentioned anything about hyperextension of your upper body you do as you go through the ball which is very critical move in my opinion. Otherwise, you will not be able to come over your right shoulder after impact as a lefty. Please comment on that.

    • @GolfwithMarcusEdblad
      @GolfwithMarcusEdblad  5 дней назад

      Every golfer I have met in 25 year can do it, you can to. Hyperextension is not the key. I have seen it from so many golfers. If you hit a short pitch shot, can you do it then? If not I need to see what you are doing to respond in any way that is helpful.
