6 month review of my Zacklift. It wasn't perfect.

- It's been a little over 6 months with the @zackliftinternational4841 Genesis 30 Ton detachable wrecker, so it's finally time to give that review that quite a few people asked for. To put it short and simple, it's been amazing and I couldn't be happier with how it's held up and performed through the rough winter season that we had. The one major change I made to it was pulling the steel cable off and replacing it with @YankumRopes synthetic winch line, and that has made it so much nicer to use that I should have done it from day one. I've also been incredibly happy with my @SeriousTrucks 4900, which has also been flawless. I was really nervous about buying a modern emissions compliant truck, but with the interstate work I do and all the trips to California, it was a necessity, and that truck has been nothing but great.

Excellent presentation. Thank you. I think I understand how the 'rotator" wreckers fit into the big picture but would you mind explain the cost, drawbacks and benefits to a rotator compared to the options you have been discussing.
My setup is a quarter million dollar investment, a rotator is a million dollar investment. For the same money, four of my current setups would make me a hell of a lot more money than a single rotator, and I would have far MORE recovery ability, and be able to take on bigger jobs with four Zacklift Genesis units than I could with a single rotator. The one and only advantage a rotator has over four of these setups is that it can do crane work, which opens up another revenue stream. But at the same time they are so heavy that they are horrible for daily towing, and basically eliminate long distance towing, so they limit another revenue stream at the same time.
They absolutely have their place and are the way to go for companies that have a heavy work load of rollovers and accident recoveries, but you’ll notice that those companies also have other smaller straight boom trucks that to the towing and day to today work that pays the bills. For me and where my business is at right now, the Zacklift is the more beneficial piece of equipment.
But all that being said… I would still love to have a rotator just to have a rotator!
@@CaseyLaDelle Many thanks!
@@CaseyLaDelle Very well explained!
Side note, a quote from a famous cartoon came to mind.. "Actually it's a buck and a quarter quarter staff.. but I'm not telling him that!"
@@CaseyLaDellerotator at 1M subs 🍀
@@BorisV1 ...wow, that is a very generous offer from you. I am sure he will take you up on that when he gets to the 1M.
Has anyone else noticed how long Casey can talk without an "uhh", "and", "you know", "I think", or other pauses for thought processing or memory lapses? He is amazing on how he can maintain a cogent, connected, and consistent conversation on a complicated topic? I think that is why we all keep listening. My wife thinks I'm crazy when I try to share all new knowledge with her about a Zack lift!
Like ahhh what are you like talking about ? 😄
Very well said, and I did notice.
Yes, I think you hit the nail on the head with your statement. He definitely knows what he is talking about and tells you right up front if he doesn't know!
Until the Motorheadz podcast where I said “like” 4 billion times 😂
WELL SAID
I’m a owner operator I completely agree with having several trucks to complete all the jobs easier. I run a med duty rollback, med duty wrecker, 3500 wrecker, 3/4 to service truck, 24 ft hydraulic tilt deck trailer, and a 34 ft gooseneck flat deck. No one understands why I jump from truck to truck until they actually ride along
OK, I'm only 8 minutes. 43 seconds 45 seconds into this video. I'm gonna leave a comment. This is exactly why this is the only heavy rescue. I watch because he explains it. Cut-and-dry.This is the only channel.I watch and this video so far proves why this is the only channel I watch.
And some people can't handle the truth or straight forward approach . I love it & thats how i am .
@@davestevens4263yep he's straightforward, honest, and explains things clearly and simply.
Not only does Casey give a detailed explanation about what he is doing and why he screwed something up. Nor do we have to know about his business ...
He's very good. The only other heavy wrecker channel I watch is Ron Pratt.
If I want to watch what happens - Ron Pratt explains the 'what' very well. If I want to learn the 'how' like I was considering a career change - Casey
I'm one of the old women that subscribed to your channel 😊 enjoy your content. The best part of this video is Rusty's tail wag and the way he looks at you right in the eyes 👀
I’m one of his old lady viewers too and agree he is a joy to watch and I love when he shares his family ✔️✔️👍👍👏👏🤗🤗💞I’m amazed by his homestead and fleet of vehicles and knowledge
Same here. Older lady that loves this channel
I heard rusty say drop that camera its play time dad & he gave the look .
We elders also appreciate genuine, caring people and your and your friends qualify in both areas. Blessings!
What? You left out Riley !!! 🤬
Oh my !! I just watched a whole video about something I have no use for .I do not drive a truck or a wrecker yet I found this video very interesting .Thankk for good videos Casey .My wife and I really enjoy all your content .
haha! That's what makes Casey so entertaining. When he can talk about something for 30 minutes that I will never apply in my own life and I watch the entire thing? That's some good content LOL.
The people who make that genesis/Zack lift those engineers really got their head together, man they really knocked it out of the park with this one six in a row Jim again
That they listen to their customers wishes ...
Yeah, for what you wanted, it was perfect. I watched you figure out EXACTLY what you wanted over MONTHS. It totally may not be somebody else's cup of tea but you got heavy and versatile that could be removed from your 5th wheel. For you, perfect.
Admire the combination of expertise and you being on the top end of strait forward. Oh, and you know how to make a video, that too.
Will I ever tow anything, apart from a stroller or shopping cart? God forbid. Yet I’m watching this video 👵🏻😘
@margreetanceaux3906 100% agree. I watch as I sit at my home office where I should be working my banking/insurance emails, also knowing I hate towing my 900# camper 😅
CASEY you know what you are talking about well done my good man KNOWLAGE is POWER
It sure is. Too bad you are low power.
@@bobmahnamahknobyou feel better Bob?
It’s spelled “knowledge “.
Knowledge of a product = Good Salesman
Nothing like an AH On here bob dont look in the MIRROW.
My wife watched this whole episode with me. She knows very little about trucking or towing, but she enjoyed the video very much. She said that your explanation’s made perfect sense to her, whereas I have failed miserably to help her understand. Thanks Casey for this great tutorial, it helped immensely.
That's his thing ... some say he talks to much but by explaining things in such detail both verbally and with visual representation the point gets across. I have backed up the video to see it again to make it sink in.
He might have a new subsriber !!!!
I am glad you don't beat around the bush and tell it straight up you are a great guy 👍
So Zack gets an "A" on his midterm exams. Nice going Professor Casey.
I trust Casey's reviews. If he likes it, he says what he likes and why. If he doesn't like it, you get the same thing. Honest feedback. And that's rare.
Love your ability to walk, talk and demonstrate what your six month review of Zacklift. You my friend are a rolling billboard for this American made towing equipment!
Looking forward to the 1year review.. 🙂
yeah, I bet you by then it will be 2 loose latches, 2 fittings and no further wiring issues to report.
For a man who says that he never said he was good at it definitely has an encyclopedia of knowledge about everything he does. That's a compliment btw
Yep, yep, yep, yep, yep, yep, Casey is no good at it .. But I am not buying a "I hate Casey" shirt.
If you consider the trifecta of failures, the ZackLift hit them all. You had a hydraulic issue, an electrical fault & a mechanical failure. They were very simple to fix as you say & didn't constitute any down time. I'd consider that as just teething pains & be thankful that they build such an awesome product. The flat deck is the Lineman tool but the ZackLift is the Swiss army knife in the kit.
P.S. Been following "I hate Casey LaDelle" to have a good laugh!
You tell us, Casey. Listen up folks, Casey has got to “teach stuff”. He tells us the way it is and stills has time to play with Rusty, Riley, Grumpy and Ben. I love your 103 inch Zacklift “reach” it is definitely bigger than most. Man you are good with numbers! Cool that you used to drive Monster Trucks.
I have oft called it "The Grumpy and Casey Show"
Glad to hear you are keeping the rollback! (For now)
Enjoy Watching all the different types of towing, recoveries hauling, etc...
Hope Grumpy & his family are well!
Be Safe!
Keep Your Head Up! 👍
Those problems are pretty minor. I’m impressed, that’s a very capable system.
No doubt you did your homework when you were looking to buy something like your truck you really covered all the bases makes you very versatile and it helps. Keep the cash flow coming in and that’s a nice truck like your dog too. By the way anyway this is six in a row.Jim from Kennerdell PA
I am amazed at the performance of the unit. Especially the use of it by you.
Glad you are starting to recoup some of your money back from the flatbed again. I'm so in agreement with the Xaklift being a good universal fit for you. Thanks for the updates.
Zacklift*
Zacklift knocked it out of the park with this unit. You made a very wise choice.
Another great and informative video! Thanks Casey.
I'm glad you decided to keep rollback, I really like seeing things you do with that, like that 40' container.
That's a amazing setup. I had no idea they even made something like that
casey wearing the topsy hoodie make me want to see him driving an edison version of his setup. so many people don't grasp what edison is trying to do and I think this channel would be such a great showcase for that. even if it was just his small wrecker
I love your warts and all approach to reviews. So refreshing from the normal approach where these adverts are paid for and you know that any problems are glossed over. I enjoyed the track jeep episodes in the past, but they didn't really give you much scope for varying the content. Your approach on varied content is welcomed as it opens up different stuff for us couch-borne warriors.
Always interesting and informative.
Thanks Casey.
As a viewer, I prefer watching the Zacklift content over the rollback truck content.
The analytics show that most people agree with you
@@CaseyLaDelle
nd I don´t agree with the analytics, i like the rollback content just as much.
@@O-Chainsaws Agree
But those rollback shenanigans aren't too bad. C'mon... moving a 40' container? That was great.
@@Zyzzyx42 I think Casey and the Zacklift could have moved the 40' container but it would have been a BIG challenge.
"I want a super-short, stiff one" -- Casey LaDelle 7:57 🙃
More seriously -- I've never really paid that much attention to the towing industry, but I'll listen to anyone who is passionate about and great at explaining what they do. Your natural charisma and gift for speaking is enviable.
Totally agree!
WOW, you Sir are my new HERO, you're there for the ppl when they need you with the proper equipment to get the job @ hand done, great informative video for Zacklift, if I was in this business I would go right up and buy this piece equipment for all the reasons you went over, if I owned ZackLift I would sponsor you immediately, TY for what you do keep the videos coming, just say'n!
You always explain things so most people know what you are talking about.
And WHY!
Casey's Channel: Come for the entertainment, stay for the education. I really admire your honesty and transparency.
Absolutely no truck can do everything. Because the Zack is versatile you can do almost everything you need it to do.
Because it is a removable unit it helps you keep the truck rolling year round.
If you were a bigger wrecker only service this type of unit would not be something that you would really want.
As a one man show this looks to be about the perfect unit for YOU.
Keep the show rolling.
It actually makes perfect sense for a bigger company
I can imagine Zacklift sitting nervously through the first half of this then getting Very Happy Indeed! Great review of what appears to be a great product.
I’m only part way through this video. What I have seen, besides what a great teacher Casey is, is that he has more common sense than 10 people combined. That is so awesome!
I know for a business is nice to get plain red sides to put their logo, etc.
But I really like those Zacklift decals, I think they look great. 😅
Edit: Keeping the other truck is a good move as long as you can afford it (Not doubting you, just pointing the obvious, if not someone might get the wrong idea and end up in debt) . The flatbed can do things the Zacklift can't do and having the right equipment for the job is always a good thing. 👍
I've watched and enjoyed a lot of your work and 'fun' style videos - always learn a bit more about the world you live and create. What is most impressive (to me) is your unique ability to communicate a meaningful message in an articulate, erudite and conversational manner that we Armchair Generals appreciate as you never talk over our ability to follow the logic and purpose of your thought process. Thanks for sharing your relationships with family, friends and work associates. Allows us to grasp a bit of your personal philosophy and attention to the needs of the task at hand.
This was a pleasant, well thought out piece of journalism. I think it was well written, produced, and edited. Great job, thank you.
Had no doubt that you would have given a No Nonsense Review.
Expertly done.. Clear and to the point.. No expectations of sponsorship.
Well Done ... as I would expect nothing less from you.
As always Great job Casey. God Bless you and yours
Great information I would never have been able to learn anywhere else. Thanks for sharing.
Wow, not only a great review, but an awesome presentation! Love waatching your vids Casey, keep up the great work entertaining us!!
Thanks for the breakdown! I always like how you take the time to actually explain something.
Great video....explaining the all the capabilities of both trucks...very interesting all round ..... Love your videos....Stay safe and see you on the next one
Thanks for the review! Great to see it’s working out as intended.
Excellent presentation Casey!
Your video of explaining things are the best. You have done several gems of this type !!!
this is what i like about your reviews. always logical and honest reviews.
Greetings from southwestern Oregon! Very informative. Thanks!
That was a great honest review Casey. I am impressed with the versatility of the Zacklift. Thank you.
Such a great channel. I always look forward to your posts. As for the equipment you run, to support your business model it all seems perfect for a small business. Not completely crazy busy (everyday) but never completely stopped either and still remaining completely flexible and adaptive. Keep it up Casey.
Great review on really both tow trucks. Thank you for sharing! 👌 😊
I am so happy you are keeping your rollback 👍
Thanks for the walk around James, Sacramento
Casey, I love your expainations. It makes watching your work more understandable and feels as if i am with you on site. Great. Thank you! God bless you.
Smart for keeping both. Your plan is spot on. Zacklift seems like a real good deal. Carry on. Great content.
I've watched your videos for a while, thought I would be bored, wasn't. Thanks for sharing.
Great summary! Like both of your trucks!
Really good video explaining the features and benefits of each truck and the Zacklift Casey. I am sure that Zacklift is very happy to have made a promotional deal with you. Coming from you it is a review that people can count on because you won't bullshit us. You keep it real and would tell us the good , the bad and the ugly. Thanks for the real world review from a man that has worked the Zacklift for over 6 months in all kinds of weather conditions and has been very happy with the product!
nice review. 3 minor problems = no problems. love the honesty in each review. keep up the great. keep up the good work.
A great review of the unit, Zack lift should be happy. Very informative
I'm an not a truck driver/tow guy. I will likely never be one, but I love these informative videos the same as the recovery videos. I have learned a lot about the trucking world for Casey.
6 months wow that went by fast. Love watching it in action
I love your reviews. Your straight forward, no apologies style is inspiring. Keep it up Cassey.
Thanks Casey, your honest appraisal of the Zacklift tells the whole story. 👍
Right on.. I wouldn't mind seeing a few more roll-back videos from time to time. The jacklist is pretty cool.. thanks for the video
Probably one of your biggest critics. This is very very very good thank you
I think Zacklift will be most pleased with this video. An honest assessment after about 6 months of use. I learned a lot as i usually do when i enjoy another Casey video. Thank you for sharing. Peace Out.
Awesome review of my favorite vehicle in your fleet…. ALL OF THEM!! Love the ZackLift, the Rollback, the small wrecker, the Jeeps, and the trailers!!!
Awesome channel! I love the unbiased over view of all the products you support on this channel thanks for the content and the way you support the boys over at Edison motors 👍
I don't know how you get a better review than this.
Great job, Casey !
Love the content and ,learning some of your history.....plus you wife and daughter are amazing
Excellent video, and thanks for catching us up with all that's been going on, Casey!! Do I wish there were move videos being posted? Heck yes - but the occasional short keeps me satisfied 🙂
You are set up very nicely Casey, you have an AWESOME Business Going ,and you have an AWESOME Family. Its not just a towing channel, its also an Adventure Channel lol. Thanks for the overview of the ZachLift , that thing is just plain Badass.
Honestly, I love your review and explanation videos so much. For one particular reason: They are 100% honest and personal experience based. No show, no magic-just real-life hands-on experience report.
And it is amazing. Every next step in your equipment selection is a large step forward. I remember the red Ford F-350 wrecker… When you sold it, I almost cried. But today, I think: You just rock your work! Congratulations, Casey. Your honest, authentic attitude is just awesome! All the best from a large fan from Germany!
I'm glad to hear that you decided to hang onto the rollback. It gives you a complete fleet with great versatility.
I'm really glad the Zacklift is working out well. I know you've worked it hard and it's obviously a very well engineered and manufactured product.
Glad to hear you're hanging on to the shenanigans rig!
Great explanation Casey. This is the kind of insight you cannot get until you have the equipment in the yard, and have the experience.
Excellent explanation, thanks!
Very well presented Casey.
Excellent production Casey. I feel like I just watched a top notch History channel documentary that literally explained everything in an accurate, thorough, and easy to understand way with all the necessary visuals as well. Great Job Brother.👍🥰😎
I first started watching some of your videos not long before you got the Zacklift, but once you got it, I was all in. I have always loved versatility in anything I own. Anything that can do multiple things and do them well is right up my alley. I've always been that way. Your setup ticks all the boxes for me. It's always entertaining to see what you can pull off with that truck, with or without the Zacklift on it. Plus, you're an entertaining person with your fun, no-nonsense attitude and your altruistic nature. Keep it up. I'll be here watching.
Zaklift it's getting a great deal from you 😊
I had been wondering what your thoughts were on the Zacklift. This towing neophyte can see the advantages of the Zacklift quite well. Glad you love it and I look forward to more big recoveries.
Not to nit pick, but didnt you also have flickering tool box light?
By the way, love your channel!
The variety of what you do keeps it fresh and entertaining!
Glad you are keeping the rollback! Also glad to hear you haven't had any real issues with the Zachlift. It's hard to find good quality in equipment these days. Oh the nightmares of the 1982 Ford Ambulance i used to drive back in the day. Even new you would be goong code and everything would suddenly shut down with no warning. Even the fuel tank switch was garbage and you never knew if it would actually switch over or not. You found out quick if you ran out of fuel though. I had it happen 3 times, including the day i took it to get the switch replaced 🙄
Great to see you case❤❤❤❤
I was hoping you would keep it and great job on explaining between the two and hope that people can understand the difference. What you said about Zacklift was on the owner it’s maintenance of any kind of equipment new or old. Thanks again
To maximize year round employment the detachable zacklift is definitely the way to go. Great explanation and great piece of quality equipment!
Excellent, that is a badass setup great presentation on it
good explanation of the pros and cons of each of your equipment :)
I like the fact that you can update the truck with minimal modifications.
Hello, new to your channel. Nice content clear and good editing. I just bought Prineville Lake Acres about a year and a half ago. I can not believe how many people are in the area.
Good honest review
Really like your Explanations.
