The worst part of Mother's Milk is some good-willed druid, paladin, or shaman would cleanse poison on you as you were running back to the quest npc, not knowing they just griefed you.
Sounds like something they would do on purpose just to annoy players lol
The spider model in the thumbnail is the spider I use in game on my hunter, I’ve had him for 12 years, I hope he’s top 5
A fine pet choice, but you can't speak about your hunter's pet without saying what name you gave it, that's the number one rule!
What did you name the spider??
@@Joe_Potts ‘Snipe’
@@medicenplani back in the day it’s web ability wasn’t just a slow, it was an actual rooting ability. I miss it
I don't have many spiders as pets but I did tame one from the firelands dailies quest area because they are so awesome looking.
Honourable mention to Hadranox. The most skipped dungeon boss
And then that other spider boss in the wod dungeon with the botani that I forgot the name of
Getting "mothers milk" is quite the Blizzard quest alright
Fun fact about Terrokarantula, during the MoP beta, hunter pets would revert to their original, often times massive sizes. It, along with devilsaurs were some of the biggest and most obnoxious pets to have following you around
I was going to post about this too! I tamed them (well before MoP) - and had this glitch happen to me often...in some very fun situations sometimes - but yes, in other times they just got in the way
I love it when the thing I chose for #1 is actually #1 for Crendor too, I feel so understood. That thing spooked me, when I was just strolling around minding my business.
honestly i love the green tarantulas, i just think they are so cute and fuzzy, a very special type of dog to me
I'm a little surprised Mr. Sunflower isn't on the list.
He's part of one of the Zaralek Cavern digs, and I know they're pretty whatever in regards to content to do, but even so. Mr. Sunflower is a horrifyingly peaceful spider that's forcefully bound several people (casual adventurers) to attend his tea party so they can discuss why they're so aggressive and feel the need to kill and steal from so many creatures they encounter. He just wants people to stop killing random creatures through their quests.
When you get there, you don't act hostile enough for him to bind you, but he needs your help to identify Ralph, because Ralph has progressed well enough to realise the error of his ways and is graduating today. Problem is everyone webbed up looks exactly the same, so you have to talk to them without releasing them and listen to what they say deduce who Ralph is and have Mr. Sunflower let him free.
As an arachnophobe, everything about that scenario is beyond horrifying.
Well I'm going there right now to attend his tea party.
Well, nerubians are their own separate race, their spider minions could work tho...
@@lukascermak4011 I mean he's got a Nerubian model, but I don't think he's meant to be an actual Nerubian. They reuse that model and variants of it and keep calling them spiders.
Hell, the Nerubians in general get referred to as Spiders, so kinda moot anyway.
@@IBrowneeI I wonder if all Warcraft spiders are actually related to Nerubians, given the influence of the old gods on the evolution of Azerothian races in general and especially on their insectoid creations. Just like how the Qiraji have a bunch of smaller insects (Silithid) associated with them, maybe the Nerubians and common spiders aren't completely unrelated.
I decided to look this up and it seems the lore is vague on this topic. The only source I found that directly references the matter is Brann Bronzebeard quoting the Tribunal of Ages, which agrees with this theory but can't be relied upon as a source because most of its information is known to be falsified to some extent. WC3 also mentions in, I think, a map description, that "many scholars believe" that spiders are descended from Nerubians.
@@IBrowneeI Nah man, he's a nerubian. The only thing they have reused from them is the skeleton, as they are much more costly to make, not the model as Mr. Sunflower.
Man, I forgot we used to have to actually carry out pets around if we wanted to summon them. Definitely one of the best changes they made down the road with adding the pet collection and being able to just summon whatever you wanted without having to run to a bank lol
Amazing as always. Crendor I have an ambitious suggestion: Top 10 Zone Soundtracks. Harder to show visually I guess, but it’d be great to see your genius take on where the Grizzly Hills music ranks.
9:33 why is nobody talking about how the ice spiders have their silk being sucked up into their butt? Who was the animator responsible for their webbing? I need answers.
Some of my favorite spiders include the rare ones that would appear at the Molten Front and were super difficult to tame. Especially the purple one, Deth’tilac
My favorite WoW spider is currently Mr. Sunflower, who is a small nerubian looking spider creature you can find holding an intervention for different violent criminals during a Sniffenseek. He offers you tea and asks that you help him figure out which of his "guests" is rehabilitated and ready to return to the real world. He's just a cool little guy, I really like him.
Also the Spider Loa Shadra, RIP. Her high priestess Yazma was loyal to Zul, took her powers and became a spider monster and the boss of Atal'Dazar dungeon.
Shadra and Dambala actually get 'saved' in shadowlands, even the bat loa actually. Their spirits were about to be consumed forever.
Surprised the Black Recluse from Twilight Highlands wasn’t included. One of the great jump scares in WOW. Also Hadronox in Azjol-Nerub was a fav of mine. Very creepy when it would emerge from the tunnels.
Hadronox is top spider for me. He protects Azjol-Nerub by EATING the Undead Nerubians. Successfully! Until we come along.
@@DoAGoldeneye Oops.
Spiders have always been my favorite pets, especially since the molten front and recently new expansions have added amazing new spiders
I never played WoW and yet i watch these videos
It's always interesting to me. How did you get here and why do you do that?
@@borek92 i just like the universe and the names of the characters and all those fantasy elements
@@Incarnate-1 Another question pops up then. If you like it so much, why have you never tried the game? Might end up being one of the best entertainment pieces in your life.
@@borek92 i do play hearthstone andi used to play wc3. i guess im more into the lore than the actual game play of WoW
Morden WoW is changed. It is not about exploring or edventure anymore. It is about numbers. So most of quest are boring or even strange lines like "Silvana is bad... or wait, we retcon it so she is a good now" - just because noone really cares about quests, it is just +100 exp 1 gold and green armor that you will sell for more coins.
Well if you have fun watching this it is great. It is another type of fun and have nothing even close to real Warcraft now.
Besseleth was my first spider pet on my first hunter, thinking she'd be bigger or stronger lol, but she's always been a favorite of mine due to that.
Same! My first main character was a hunter and I really wanted to tame them. It was a group effort at the time, think it took at least 2 friends to help me survive it. Still have the them to this day in my pet bank, and did get to see them glitch to original size a few times in MoP when using them. Very fun.
I agree with number 1
I was flying around Terokkar in Classic and all of a sudden this huge ass spider appears right in my face.. I knew there was a bigger spider there.. i just don't remembering it being THAT BIG.. It made me jump a little and I'm not usually afraid of spiders.
All of my tarantulas enjoyed this video. It's their favorit Pointless Top 10.
My number #1 would be the Starting Pet you got as an Undead Hunter in cataclysm
Mother Fang deserves an honorable mention. I had an alt parked by her spawn for months killing her a few times a day trying to get the brood mother carapace. I'm glad to finally see the light of day again now that I have the drop, but I do pop in to visit her whenever i'm passing by because I miss her sometimes lol.
3:20 The old tarantula models had that second set of fangs that are more like pincery bits from an insect, the change to the "Correct" fuzzy pedipalps instead makes them less cool and alien. Also the old colors were brighter and being jagged made them seem bristlier.
I love spiders. My hunter has literally every color and model of spider in game. 🕷️
Number one gave me nightmares as a kid, I was just playing around, kiting mobs and suddenly died to that huge ass spider. I was so afraid of that place that I never finished the quest I was doing there and noped out LMAO
I have to say, I really don't like spiders but I do like the top 10 pointless spiders!!
Good video Crendor, keep up the good work.
Is Top 10 Oozes/NPCs in oozes coming up, wowcrendor? ;)
had no idea that last one existed lol. guess i’ve skipped terrokar a few too many times. thanks for the vid:)
I remember when I was but a wee lad playing my second or third day of wow on my brand spanking new draenei hunter and I saw the giant freaking spiders in Bloodmyst Isle and I was so excited thinking I'd get this awesome enormous spider guy so I tamed it...and it shrunk. I think I still have that little guy on that same character on my parents' account but man I still remember how disappointing it was that it didn't keep its size.
Mother's milk. An old red hot chili peppers reference... that 2nd tarantula looms like a brachypelma or fire leg.
Sorry but this might be the one Pointless Top 10 I simply do not watch. I'm not comfortable with spiders, especially in light of recent events (they been crawling in through my window while I sleep lately)
@@Loremaster17 The really scary part is, I'd been having dreams where random spiders appear, and they were the same type as the ones who crawl in next to where my head is while I'm asleep. So they may have actually been getting real close to my face and I ignored them cause I thought they were just part of the dream. I'm not gonna forgive this shit anytime soon
I remember when I had to climb down to a small place to read the water meter for my grandpa.. it was full of spiders and they were all climbing over me. was horrible. I know they are useful animals to kill insects but still terrifying
Should let them in and see where they settle. Might have worse things than spiders crawling around.
Props for saying fjord correctly
Shout out to that random spider that killed me in my classic iron man
Dude! Shadra in Hinterlands
I was about to say, if Terrokar forest spider is not number 1 iam done with this channel, but you didn't dissapoint
Spiders are my favourite type of insects
Pointy Top 10 lists when??
I would absolutely watch that
Shoutout to Sennarth and her... noise... when she pulls you with her web. The echoes were so good.
oscillating may have been the word you were looking for when describing the spiders in the air, but I think gyrating is far funnier and what we should use instead for objects moving slightly within a fixed point.
Was thinking of the ones where you do the fire lands dailies. Can't remember the name of the area, but there was a lot of spiders and some were yellow and some were like 2 different blues. Hunters would always tame these in Cataclysim
There's a specific purple colored model fire spider that spawns over there, too. I remember looking up the different models of spiders on pet-topia and decided to go looking for it. It was huge at the time, but its normal model was kind of "eh" size-wise. But it was super cool to have this flaming purple spider to go with my night elf hunter. I think I named him "Johnny Legs"
Hadronox first spider that came to mind for me
You know. … I should go read the dungeon journals on the old dungeons
Am I blind or is there no Pointless Top 10 Dragons?? And if there isn't, WHY?
I feel like the animals allows everyone to get into the videos more. I haven’t played in years and don’t get every reference
@4:01 dude theres like ten thousand billion LoTR references in wow 😅
Remember kids: spiders are a vital predator and prey present in the vast majority of ecosystems. Even the top 10 pointless spiders are good guys/gals.
Spider fun fact: sometimes jumping spiders will sleep at the end of a dangling silk thread. They can either climb the thread or drop from it if something gets too close from either end. They can also tell the difference between wind and a living animal's movement.
good thing is, if you're deathly afraid of spiders, you're probably not watching this
omg mother smolder web that damn quest and her
me and a friend had no clue what was going on we just went in there one day in wrath and yeah we had no clue what was going on with the debuff, we went back to dalaran and were just super confused and noone seemed to know what the heck was going on, the debuff didnt start doing anything till we left, trade chat and general were freaking out for a good hour a GM had to turn up and fix things because even they had no clue was hillarious, and no the debuff couldnt be removed back then xD
ah also we had removed all quests we got in the dungon before we left sooo yeah we think removign the quest cause the issue and the buff not going away also we couldnt re-obtain the quest after we removed it, still dotn know why the debuff didnt do anything till after we left the instance xD
generic creatures
anybody knows a named and feared MURLOC?
no right? you fear their numbers... theyr grkblbkblblblbl and their zealous to make.you.fall!!!
Could the talador spiders be infused with light/nature magics to cure the victims or purify the demons?
I expected Shadra on this list
Dude I'm so tired rn that halfway through the list I legitimately thought to myself "wait these are all spiders!" .... well yeah dumbass me, it's pointless top ten spiders?? Anyways, excellently pointless video, Mr. Crendor
No Shadra? Sadge, she's awesome.
WoW really does have the coolest looking spiders. I remember having a few as pets on my Worgen hunter, because they just look so awesome.
a lot of, if not all rare and elite, quest mobs that can be tamed keep their original name now when tamed too. This isn't interesting or unique for spiders such as beshol because you can name any old pet beshol. This is unique and cool for other's with special characters in their names though or really long names with spaces etc. Such as the "jungleweb hunter", "kethris the shadowspinner", "crystal fang" etc. i'm currently on a journey to tame every varient of spider but get one with a unique name, for as many as possible. Terokkarantula retains it's name after taming too. That wouldnt normally be unique but it's name is 1 letter too long for you to rename a pet normally so it gets a pass on the uniqueness list.
When I was young, my older sister would call for me to kill a spider if one showed up in her bedroom. She has never even *seen* World of Warcraft on a PC, but I know the spider animations in WoW are *so good* they would creep her out. I was sure of this too way back in 2005.
Even in WarCraft: Orcs and Humans, the orc warlocks summoned spiders, whereas the human conjurers summoned scorpions.
they changed it too, but the hinterlands had also this giant spider that could only be summoned through a quest to get the zul'farrak mallet. You needed a group to kill it and it was the first big \\oh crap\\ moment i had in WoW
There are also spiders that can go fishing. Surprisingly they're called fishing spiders. (they're cool as hell)
Dang, just watched Hotel Hell for the first time yesterday so that was an unexpected reference. Was the old witchy lady with the inn who crapped on her own floor.
you forgot naraxis witch is a rare spider on a cave on dusckwood and lady Sathrah witch is a mini boss spider on teldrasil northen area near the river also you forget the big elite spider witch is a horde quest on hinterlands ,that spider also pulled to ironforge many times by trollers
Even if you have no arachnophobia, I equate still getting spooked by #1 on this list to megalophobia. You simply do not expect to turn around and suddenly be looking at something so large that it feels out of place. While playing space games, I always get spooked when I turn my ship around - and suddenly there is just a massive planet or whatever there, as if it had snuck up on me. Nobody likes overwhelming surprises like that, and in the same way you would not expect to run into the mother of all spiders while exploring an otherwise relatively calm area. What adds to it is the fact that #1, at least as far as I recall, does not spawn/become visible until you are very close to it. Suddenly, this massive beast just materializes out of thin air.
I couldn't show my arachanphobic friend this list rofl
The video was good, i just disliked it because i have arachnofobia, but other than that, nice video bro XD
Bookmarking this video for my hunter's pet collection.
If your not poor bloodfang widow is the best and should be number 1 cause you can actually ride a spider.
I'm a spider lover surrounded by spiderphobes, ty for the lovely pro spider content 🕷❤
You forgot Shadra! :D In Zuldazar, the Spider-Loa!
My favorite green tarantula spider is definitely the hillsbrad foothill ones.
No Spider-elvens from Suramar? Rly?
im glad the fjord spiders made the list, thats one of my favorite creepy places
I recommended this months ago and you said you would do it! Thank you!
If I were to make a list, I would definitely add that spider from the night elf starting zone cave. It's the first non-generic mob you kill as a night elf. And also, and this is very niche, I would include that spider in a cave in Magmoth, Borean Tundra who almost ended Kripp' ironman run at level 79/80, just because that was one of my personal favorite moments in WoW :D
Eye core?, not ichor? as in ik ore? how do you pronounce these words Comment section?
What about the Ghostspiders in Maldraxxus? :(
I like how classes used to feel like different experiences. I agree that it all feels the same
If you haven't, please make a pointless top ten of treasure chests!
are you going to return to bb2 at some point?
I'm surprised Hadronox didn't make the list
Do a top ten wishlist on playble races and put Gilblin in top 3.
Extra spooky top 10 during october!
Yep, being the spider loa is simply not enough to make the cut on a pointless top ten about wow spider, wowcrendor is just that brutal, poor Shadra.
When I used to raid regularly during Wrath, my guild's top mage was afraid of spiders. In the Arachnid Wing of Naxx, he would put one of the healers on follow and go AFK.
One of my other favorite spiders is Sennarth from Vault of the Incarnates. Really fun raid fight where you’re following her up her icy tower while everyone is running around like headless chickens
My mom (who was the one who got me into WoW) once told me that a coworker showed her a picture of a spider on their phone while they were both on their lunch break.
The coworker, assuming the spider was real, was all like "I would not want to meet this spider" and "I bet it could kill me."
Mom was like "that spider is from a video game." It was a picture of Maexenna's model.
Bessie has murdered A LOT of hc characters lmao
fun fact: in warcraft 1 a warlock could get a spell that summoned 4 gaint spiders too fight for you! while human wizards could summon 4 scorpions (with the same colours sceme as those scorpions from the southpark episode)
my top spiders would be the firelands ones hunters were able to tame. I remember actually getting help in taming one. All my spiders are the firelands rare ones and I love em
The Molton Front the metal tiger was a pain to tame. Needed to do it naked as the debuf to armour would 1 shot you
Came here for the green tarantula spiders. 🕷️
So pleased by your choice for #1
just in time for sp00ktober ^^
yet another absolute banger
Wow super cool
but... Lady Sathrah...
🕷🕸🕷
Shoulda just called this the NOPE episode. 😂
Number nine killed me on a hard-core character. The only reason I remember it so vividly was because I was suffering from c19 at the time.
Do a random murloc one with elwynn forest classic movs ;)
wasd
