    I love these nails. Two hints . . . Spend the extra $8 for the brush on glue, as it gives you so much more control with way less mess. Also, if your size falls in-between, choose the one that is larger and use the provided emery board to shape the nail for a perfect fit. Oh, also, apply the pop-ons to all eight fingers, and do the two thumbs last. Again, increases control.

      I actually have better luck with the glue in the kits. The brush on glue doesn't work at all.

      @@chellediane for the static nail brand you are meant to soak your nails in hot water until they loosen enough that you can remove them without damaging your nails. It is reccommended to leave the mails on a minimum of four days before attempting this though. It can take quite a bit of soaking in hot water though. The longer you wear them the easier they will come off which is probably why they reccommend you wear them for at least four days before removal. If you are finding them hard to remove try using a thinner layer of glue next time. The more glue you use the longer they are meant to stay on.

    The issue with the glue is they're telling you to put entirely too much glue on! This is the 2nd review video I've watched about these nails and, honestly, I thought the first girl just wasn't familiar with using nail glue. I wasn't aware that the actual company was telling y'all "the more the better"! It's no wonder you had glue everywhere and the other girl had glue leaking out from under the sides of her nails. When I glue my fakes on, I use one good sized drop and kind of spread it around the underside of the false nail. I don't get too close to the edges to avoid any leaking. I also scratch up the underside of the false nail with a drill tool (meant for nails) and gently buff the shine off the nail plate (just like you did). Oh, and unfortunately, once you have glue on your nails, it ain't coming off.
    I was, however, really impressed to learn that the acetone didn't take the shine off the nails. That stuff takes the shine off of everything.... as I learned when doing my nails at my brand new kitchen table. I put a towel down and everything and thought I was being extra careful but apparently not. 😕
    Anyway, I just wanted to say that I appreciate this review so much! I like how you are honest, mentioning both the good and the bad. Between this one and the first one I watched, I definitely am going to try these nails out now.

    Also - any press on nails that come with the “pre-stick” gel adherence can look more natural if you remove that gel sticky and just use glue. They’ll last longer too.

  • @gld291

    I have been wearing glue on nails for years. The excess glue that you experienced is due to improper application / using too much glue. Also, I agree with the sizing not being perfect. If the nail is slightly too big for your nail bed, you can file. Filing is also good for the length, as some of the glue on nails are too long for me. Great video!

  • @Shaunese83
    @Shaunese83 3 года назад +4

    Only use one drop on the nail if you want them to last one week. If you had one drop on the nail and one drop on the press on you will have glue coming out. But only do this last step if you want them to last longer than 2 weeks. Regarding the size,I use a nail file to pre shape the press on to match my nail bed and natural nail size.

    They look beautiful. But I just went through a set. They don’t “easily pop off” they loosen overtime. Moisture got under mine and I needed up with a green nail. Some nails took a lot of nail with it. My nails are stripped quite a bit. My nails are now floppy and weak. Only wear them for a special occasion . I tried every day use and glue dried and caked on the false nail, you’re not supposed to force them off but also while they’re lifting moisture can get under there.

    ok, just to try and help out, cuz i think they do really look nice on you...i make custom press ons, and i wouldnt put the glue on the fake nail, even tho they said to....you can find smaller glue ons, my nail beds are small too...if u can, file the inside, like lightly etch, the inside of the tips where it touches the natural nail...its harder without an e-file, but i use tiny nail/emery boards, it gives the glue a rough surface to bond to, they will last much longer...just sum tips...not being funny or anything, i dont do that...ty for the video... xx

    If you really want the Impress, or other press on nails to work, you have to pre-treat them w/ Red Light brush on treatment available from Ulta. It's a game changer and you can put it on before putting glue on your nail if you're going that route.

    Something to take if you have weak nails is collagen. It also helps thicken hair help with skin and a whole lot of other things. You just put a scoop of it in your coffee if you drink that or a smoothie every day and it will help overtime. But make sure you find a good brand of it. A great brand it doctor Axe.

    I had a really hard time using enough glue to get them to stay a long time and not having excess glue squeeze out everywhere. I’m a hairstylist. So far I’ve been able to get them to last about 5 days before a nail pops off. Static tells me to use more glue, but I can’t see how without it getting everywhere. I’m ordering the brush on glue to see if that helps.

    • @AbbeyYung
      @AbbeyYung  4 года назад

      hopefully that helps! 5 days definitely isn't long enough

    Next time start with your pinky & work in. Leaving both thumbs for the last 2 nails to do. Having those free of the nail makes the others easier to handle & you’ll probably have an easier time not getting glue everywhere.

  • @mandafayeee4234
    @mandafayeee4234 3 года назад

    So I would suggest that if putting glue on both nail and nail bed you use a brush glue so that you get a thinner more even layer on both parts without the excess drip which causes you to stick to the nails and pretty much everything else. With the eye dropper glues, you can’t really evenly lay it out quickly and evenly without issue and because the little bottles are kind of hard to squeeze, you don’t get to determine the best flow of the glue. Brush glues just lay it down so much easier, it’s faster and cleaner when doing press-on’s. Eye dropper glue is better used for tip application when doing acrylics and similar because you don’t cover the entire nail with it.

    I tried Static Nails a few months ago and they lasted a day before they popped off, and I did exactly what you did! On the other hand, I've been using Impress since last year and have found that, to get them to last over a week, I'd have to put some nail glue on my natural nail, then apply the fake one. I normally get 7 days wear from the regular Impress nail sans glue, but with it, I can get nearly two weeks. Nevertheless, I LOVE the look of some of the Static Nails designs. I have 1 that I never used, and 2 new ones. Going to give them another try today!

    I have very breakable nails and decided to give press on nails a try. Thus far, I'm really liking the Kiss ImPress Color line. I have really small fingers and was worried that I wouldn't be able to find the right size but there was enough variety in the pack that it wasn't an issue. They're really durable too. I assumed they would last a day, maybe two. I'm on day three and they haven't budged. I'll be very happy if I get a week or two out of them. They cost $8. I like not having to deal with the glue. I'm really curious about the Static nails though because the colors are really cute.

    Making sure you don’t get your nails wet about 4 hours before and after application makes them last even longer. Sometimes two weeks without popping off for me. Brush on nail glue helps too but I just try to be careful not to apply too much.

    I just bought a pair of Static almond nails for an upcoming formal. I'd forgotten what I realized about them when I bought some a while back. 1) they're too damn long (almond) 2) they're too wide for my fingers and there aren't enough options for smaller fingers. My pointer, middle, and ring finger are basically the same size so it's annoying that only 1 pair will fit one of these fingers and then I'm stuck filing for days.
