Used to watch MBR back in the day. I am glad I rediscovered you again. Superb content and honest reviews. Keep up a good job. Also nice shred in FOD and BPW 👍
Both these bikes are interesting to me. I own a Yeti 160e and spent a lot of time on a few other full power ebikes and as much as I like them, I do not love the weight or how any of them feel on the trail. I hate the lethargic handling feel of 50+ lb bikes. My 160e is 51lbs. I do not even care about the full power as I'd gladly trade the power for a mid power bike that feels more like a traditional enduro bike that is easier to throw around.
@@Bestillhomestead If you follow forums of some of the bikes with Fazua motors, you hear a lot of people having to warranty replace them. It might have just been earlier versions and they are better now. Also the ring controller is a bit troublesome and cheap feeling. They are changing that in 2025.
MBR seem to really like the fazua when it works, but have had duds. I’m curious about the system and I’m sort of tempted, but nobody wants to stump up a load of cash for a lemon. I’ve seen things online about v1 motors dying in 200miles, but then they are getting warranty replacement with a v4 motor. Is there any truth in this? I think In a review mbr had an e zesty ride 60 which died? But that was in 2023(?), there’s some posts on forums but they’re dated early 2024, there’s some videos on other channels around may ‘24…. It’s now end of December 2024, can MBR as part of the bike media get some official info as to what FAZUA have done and issues they believe are fixed? Every single review about ride 60 bring up reliability as a major factor in not being able to recommend the bikes, which must affect the bike brand’s sales. So it’s in everybody’s interest to get this info out there.
Guys, you gotta redo the testing, there is also a third light (ish) enduro bike on the market, the commencal meta sx. Aluminium frame, cat 5 rated btw, fox factory everything, bosch sx, similar geometry to the dune but with a 5mm lower bb (if they measured it parallel to the ground) and fixed dropper post insertion length, medium size comes in 180mm. Another highlight are the 155mm cranks. Just joking obviously, but the commencal might be the best of both worlds and its still reasonably priced at 8,2k euros. It does have two downsides though, 22kg weight, and its on preorder now. A tip for the dune: OneUp dropper v3, you can get through the bank 1 to 2cm, maybe even 3cm if you are lucky, extra drop length, getting it to normal lengths again. The MY25 version of the dune comes also with a different display (purion 400) and a lower stack with lower insertion length dropper post, quite similar to the OneUp v3. And still i am undecided what bike i want. The yt and anything fazua is out of question due to reliability and no range extender, the santa cruz vala and orbea wild come with poverty spec components in their 7500 euro trim, the dune has short dropper length (although i haven't felt limited yet with a 140mm on a all-mountain bike), the commencal is little bit of a fatty and the mondraker sly doesn't have the "i want it" feel when looking at it. Im looking for a enduro or enduro capable trail bike thats on the lighter spectrum, no more than 600wh, ideally around 400wh and a RE fitted the two to three times a year i need it. If you got some suggestions, i would appreciate it. Bosch cx gen4 is also out of the question, if i want rattly full power ill pick a ep801 over it, but id prefer a cx gen5 or sx over it
Thanks for your comment. A lot of interesting points you’ve made. The Commencal wasn’t out when we started the test, and they won’t send bikes to review in comparison tests, so can’t help you there. We’ve been riding the Slash+ recently and there’s a lot to like about it, but it’s spendy. As you say, that doesn’t leave many options.
22kg isn't that bad in the real word. My Kenevo SL is 21.3kg. Stop worrying about bike weights. The bike for you is the Santa Cruz Heckler SL. Yes fazua have issues but that bike is superb. The one I'd go for. Extender is out in May for Fazua
@@jordanmackay3568 thanks for your input. I already know that the heckler would be the ideal bike for me yet the reliability is concerning and the 2 year delay of the RE doesn't spark hope in me. Ill wait until spring to see how it all develops
I have a mondraker crafty rr 2022 and i made it a mullet and it makes it amazing, i agree its very tall stock but making it a mullet fixed all problems
Well I used to enjoy your content but honestly this is now primarily a electric bike channel now. Thanks for the content in the past but it's a unsub from me now
Appreciate the content has been ebike heavy recently, but we’ve got a down-country head to head test coming soon, plus getting bikes together for Trail Bike of the Year test. We’re not just about e-bikes.
👍Interesting SL agains SL test with thees diffrent peak power, witch would be nice to have opportunity to by your self choose witch cadence, how must power and for how long time the peak power going to give you the support that you choosed😉. When that opportunity comes, then I by one more frameset to build my fourth SL Mtb😋

Thanks and welcome back!
Great review, really enjoying the rapport and the depth of knowledge

Really enjoyed this video guys, great format and really well put together. Great work!
Thanks Doddy! 🙏

...and my winner is CANNONDALE MOTERRA SL, full power, more range,19.5kg,low BB,slack Geo, -absolute Dream bike
Doesn't get good ratings. Numbers don't mean much
@@jordanmackay3568 its a great Bike, dont care about ratings, best EBike for my humble skills
Man I want that yt. I hope Fazua sort out their issues
Yeah, it’s a really good system aside from the reliability issues
What issues do fazua have? Was looking into getting a YT SN as well

Mondraker Dune RR 🤎 for me 👍 I had my for 4 months and love it, at 6 feet I didn't experience an issue with the drop post ( running 200mm sizie L) 👍
Like this format 👍👍

Would be interested in comparing core 4 with the core 3.
Just seems a better bike to me, with suspension etc, but that's me.
Yeah we really want to ride the Core 3 - looks like the sweet spot
Full travel full power please.
If you test the slash plus, I would love see how it compares to these bikes. These 3 bikes are all at the top of my list.
Will try and put something together 👍
I have a mondraker crafty rr 2022 and i made it a mullet and it makes it amazing, i agree its very tall stock but making it a mullet fixed all problems
Can’t do that on this though as it’s already mullet. 👍
Sorry if I missed it but, what size Decoy did you test?
Size Large 👍
If the batteries died on each bike, how would they pedal? Is there any drag on them?
Drag on both is pretty minimal, but obviously a 20kg bike is still heavy to climb and accelerate.
2 weeks to have my YT Decoy SN Core 4... 😊
Nice! Hope you enjoy it 👍
I would get the yt with r.s. ultimate.
Good choice I reckon
2023 Specialized S-Works Enduro LTD.
Title should read ‘enduro emtb with less range & less power shootout’ just bite the bullet and buy a proper emtb!
Canyon Strive On Ltd. Barel Replica.
Bosch Performance Line CX Race motor.
End of discussion. 😂
Pretty much the bike that won our comparison this time last year 👍
Wouldnt buy either of those bikes. Much better options on the market
What would you choose?
