Will this bike be banned just like the drones will? Because who knows it might fly over a home! And since it's Chinese that's dangerous for some reason!?
This is the best review of the DJI motor I've seen. Thoroughly tested, and very clear talking points in your presentation. You're definitely the best ebike tester 👍 I hope the DJI motor becomes more prolific so we can get it in other brands.
Wow, thanks for your kind words... I try really hard to get all the information we need to understand and I totally agree its going to be very interesting to see who put the DJI motor in their ebikes
I would like to see a range test with the motor limited to 85nm. If it's significantly more efficient than the Bosch, that would be a selling point to me rather than the higher available power.
German magazine "bike" did one. It is slightly below the Bosch's range, but regarding the 150g lighter battery, you get the same height per weight in both systems.
Loving my 1 week old PL Carbon Pro 800KW. RIdes like a Gen 2 Levo SL S Works, but with 3 times the power and even as a heavy rider I am finding it so much more efficient than my Gen 3 Levo S Works. Next Gen of eBikes is a great description of it.
@@SamsBikes I have a Rise at 17kg with pedals on the 360 battery, the key is being able to wind the power and torque down to save battery and take advantage of the light weight. If you cannot reduce the power on the DJI to the same level as the ep801 you will need a bigger battery as you will burn through it (if you can't knock it back in settings). I have read this level of being able to reduce power on the DJI is not as good as the other motors at the moment ?
thanks for the enthusiastic review, but there is something that is not mentioned, namely, the aftersales policy of AMFLOW with regard to the lifespan of the engine, in hours of use and mileage, the repairability, the supply of parts for the engine, It is a financial nightmare if the engine breaks down after the warranty period, which happens often, testers like you should inform future buyers about the risks of the purchase, and the manufacturers should be forced to share their own test data about the lifespan, and the reperability and the supply of parts to customers, greetings Jan,
Thank you for your comment, Jan. Currently, DJI is offering a two-year warranty on motors in Europe and a three-year warranty in Spain. After this period, you will likely be able to purchase a motor from DJI for around 600 to 1,000 euros, similar to other major e-bike motor companies. Additionally, DJI has stated that the motor will be repairable, not just replaceable, in the future.

5:53 what I’ve heard is, that you can’t reduce the watts. So how ever you will change the settings it will drain the battery and have a lot of power. They need to change that.
@zott- not sure what you are getting at but it's the assist level that controls the amount of energy being taken from the battery , so not sure what you mean .
Hi. Could you estimate vertical m range if you would run it in ECO or TRAIL mode? 1776 vm for turbo is impressive, but I am interested in max possible will lower power? This is especially important in whole day alpine adventures...
Everything is great, but what happens if the motor breaks down? If the spec breaks down, I get a new engine in two days and keep riding. When my Shimano broke, it took 8 days, but what about this one? That’s the only thing I’m worried about. Everything else is great. As soon as it’s available in Poland, I’ll buy it for my collection. Greetings from Poland!
Merry Christmas and thanks a lot for a great review! I am about to upgrade from a 2022 Orbea Rise M10 to the new Orbea Rise SL but after I seen this review I may have changed my mind...! What I really love about the rise is the "natural mtb behavior" as I have been riding trailbikes for about 25 years but the MFlow seems to be a next gen product. I guess the Orbea SL will still feel a bit lighter than the MFlow? Which one of these two bikes would you recommend 😉
Merry Christmas and fantastic question and actually make sure you subscribe to the channel because we are doing a back to back review or shoot out of the Obea RiseVs the Amflow in February
On your chart ranking the motor efficiency, is the Specialized motor rating for the full power Levo or Kenevo? How do you rate the Amflow bike overall compared to the Levo/Kenevo?
Merry Christmas Sam, great, informative breakdown of the system. Nothing against the Amflow but I'm really interested to see what other companies do with this motor, I've seen the Forbidden leak and that looks really interesting. As you hinted at I think the future of e-bikes could be a 4-600 main battery and a range extender, like the SC Vala and new Whyte e-lyte. 0.5kg on the motor isn't going to make that much difference but loosing that battery mass from up near the headtube does have a big impact on the ride, hopefully that's the route Forbidden will take. I realize your extreme range test is a fair and time effective way to test range but I would really like to see the same test in trail or even eco, it would just mimic my use case better. Looking forward to see what 2025 brings.
Hey Tony thanks for your kinda words.... Yes, definitely the future is bright and I'm sure quite a few Mountain Bike companies will be running the DJI system in the near future... As for the range test honestly I'm not sure how long I can keep on doing this even in the highest assistant mode it takes a lot of time to test all his motors so I don't think I'll ever do that in Eco or Trail but by all means you're welcome to do it, ha ha

Kind of think these new higher power motors are going to be to much for the current crop of drive trains even the shimano link glide isn’t going to be enough! Someone needs to step up and make a really beefy 8-10 speed System that can take the extra torque of these motors!
Hey mate thanks for the comment... Honestly, I've had no problem with the Sram t type 12 speed transmission apart from the cage sits too low in a mullet set up
Just got the silver Amflow, way more value for money. It’s so good, the other brands are way behind. The integration, app, innovation, controls, it’s just next level, why would I go for another high price brand with another motor😅
Happy Christmas Sam I hoping the new 2025 Spec turbo levo has the DJi motor in it or HAS Spec developed something of its own that’s as good as the DJI My local Spec bike shop that has been developing the new 2025 bike said to me the bike will blow my mind when it’s released and he also said you’ve been talking to him as well Have a good new year as well and hope the future is bright
id like to see a gps based speed limiter , so you can have a pedelec on the road at 45 and an off road speed of 32/25 kmph depending where you live in the same way DJI fence quad copters from air traffic .
This would change significantly with the next firmeware update. It would make a good bike perfect. I am using my Amflow as customer since Oct. 17 (first delivery day in Germany), done 1,300 km with zero issues.
I‘m riding mine since November and had no issues since now. Only the built in inclinometer doesn‘t work good despite multiple calibrations… Any similar experiences?
Ansonsten mega Bike… Danke für deine Antwort! Und viel Spaß auf‘m Trail 🤙🏽

Someone needs to step up and make a really beefy 8-10 speed
System that can take the extra torque of these motors!
Hey mate thanks for the comment... Honestly, I've had no problem with the Sram t type 12 speed transmission apart from the cage sits too low in a mullet set up
I hope someone figures out some sort of mounting kit to make these fit in a Bosch CX pattern
Just got the silver Amflow, way more value for money. It’s so good, the other brands are way behind. The integration, app, innovation, controls, it’s just next level, why would I go for another high price brand with another motor😅
congrats on the new ewhip.... I agree I think the base model is better value with a few upgrades.
Nice bike, very good review, very good location, but they are never mentioned. I would always like to know filming locations also.
Thanks mate all footage was shoot in Madrid
Happy Christmas Sam
I hoping the new 2025 Spec turbo levo has the DJi motor in it or HAS Spec developed something of its own that’s as good as the DJI
My local Spec bike shop that has been developing the new 2025 bike said to me the bike will blow my mind when it’s released and he also said you’ve been talking to him as well
Have a good new year as well and hope the future is bright
Merry Christmas mate let’s see what the future holds
Well im rocking the wild🚀till something really special comes out probably 2026
Yep nothing wrong with the Wild!
id like to see a gps based speed limiter , so you can have a pedelec on the road at 45 and an off road speed of 32/25 kmph depending where you live in the same way DJI fence quad copters from air traffic .
now that is a great idea.
Sam is the best
Thanks Legend
No size small?
yep they should add a small to the line up
Hi Sam, do you have a std Avinox app? As making changes to the motor settings doesn’t seem to make any difference on mine.
For the first 6 months a had the Beta add but for the last 6 months I’ve had the standard one

Merci
I'm 183cm and ride a Large but I do like smaller bikes I could ride a XL or a L
Tanks Sam...i Hope thé bises arrivés in France soon....
No way that I'd outlay that much $ on that bike, especially since it still has a Derailleur.
I understand that... lets see what Pinion comes up with for their next motor
When it comes in a 170-170 29er il get one
Mines 170-150 mullets runs pretty bad ass
Exactly, I bit more squish and a battery extender.... 🍗👍🏼🎄☃️🤗🏔️🏔️
Pour les Français qui veulent le voir et l'essayer, les vélos sont disponibles chez nous dès le 2 janvier
Thanks for the info
I haven't see the cost of this bike. Anyone? It isn't on their website.
starting from 6500 euros
As always, if aftermarket motor builders wanted to make money, they could make them fit existing bikes.
Interchangeability is a zero with EMTB's. This Amflow bikes looks the business though!
Thats a great point imagine they made it fit the ep8...
@@SamsBikes As many shimano motors have been sold, if guys could stick a hot rod motor in imagine how many would sell!....Im still getting by fine with my EP8 but someday..............
Hope they produce a £4k to £5k Hardtail!
Luna X2.5 is still better due to the throttle for sticky situations.
Amazing tech these days!
Yes indeed!
North America, when??
Not sure mid 25 I’ve heard
But where can I buy this bike?
Have Sam guess where you live.
@@vashon100 If unspecified, everyone on the internet is from the country that is the center of the universe. The United States Of God Blessed Murrica. Although really, if there were an online retailed in another country that was legit and trustworthy, I could buy it from them and import it myself I'm sure. Its also kind of obvious, as N America seem to be the one place this bike isn't available yet.
haha
hey David, as it stands right now, you can only buy the Amflow in China Australia Germany and the UK and the first quarter of 2025 I believe they're opening up Spain and France and a few other countries in Europe with America follow later in 2025.
@@SamsBikes hey thank you, I hadn't found that info anywhere. I'll start saving my spare change.
I just wish there would be other real enduro bikes with that system.
I'm sure its coming
So far the battery isn’t performing very well! 50% of battery = 15km with 481 meters of climbing. That with the power reduced to 90nm in trail mode no boosting! How did you connect the camera to the bike?🤔
Really? That’s not right go to your dealer and get it checked
Has anyone asked DJI why there's no size Small offering? It's an otherwise sick bike....
Yes I agree they should add a Small size
10k + see ya
Thats what a good ebike costs in 2024
Six month review or six week???
6 months mate got it in July
@SamsBikes thats good mate! Keep on with your reviews!! 💪💪💪
Love the bike but not the price
Personally, I feel that motors are secondary to batteries and range. I will choose a bike based on massive range not the motor.
An efficient motor will increase the range for no weight penalty. Bigger batteries = more range with more weight and more cost for the battery/bike.
good point... For me range is really important and the fact that this motor has the most power and very very good range makes it a great contender
Range extender should be at least 300wh.
maybe I feel 250 is the sweet spot.
@@SamsBikes Why? You are already adding weight it doesn't make any sense to make that marginal weight gain.
USA release date.?? No one knows anything bout that and USA is 45% of the MTB market.
If you go on the Amflow chat on the site, they say “first half of 2025”.
So June probably.
P@@LlenadeMalo
People cant acept this is the best 24/25 ebike motor.
accept vs acept
@ si como sea tu entendistes
its the best motor 100%
Please tell me it's not all to good to be true 🤞✌️
But they gave it you probalby paid you so its hard to believe anything you say on it. srry man
Not sure you know my channel you should ask around!
Specialized here ::: cough cough bring it
DJI makes cheap Chinese drones
That things noiser than my gen4 Bosch, il wait and see what the long term reliability is like, for me I'm waiting for the IMG sick of snapping chains..
You think it’s noisy? Interesting
Kudos, best review I've seen so far interesting that it's 22kg+ with a burly build, I have heard the frame feels flexy What's you opinion?.
I’m 85kg and I’m sure if your 100 plus your going to get some flex! It’s totally fine for me
@@vaughanboyce3702here in Australia a mechanic in Newcastle has shimmed the rear triangle with some spacers and said it’s noticeably better in the rear.
@@barrakingbeatz7794Shim it where? At the pivots?
Yak yak yak.
Not wot we want
Thanks 🙏
No discuss about battery range wattage...its important to choose a smaller or bigger battery😊
There is a whole range section
Don't get me wrong it's my next ride
Haha 🤣 the motor is amazing
