You need a negative test within 72 hours (now 24) so we got a rapid antigen in Los Jardines, Santiago, and it was NOT fun. I also show you the Santiago de los Caballeros airport! It's so great having an airport right in Santiago. When I was little this didn't exist and we had to go to Puerto Plata. I've been through it only once, but it's been so long that I don't remember it anymore. It looks nice. I really should have been back by now!

I just went through the same process with Referencia getting my covid exam. However, I went inside. In the past prior to leaving Santo Domingo and Porta Plata Airports you can have your covid test done at those Airports 3 hours prior to you flight departure. I was shocked Santiago Airport doesn't have a medical facility to do the test. Where in Santiago did you learn Spanish?? I will be moving there in 2 months
I had the antigen test in Punta Cana on 12/8 with Pronalab at the resort $17 results were done in minutes. I’ll be in Santiago this Sunday to bring in the New Year. Hopefully the testing goes smoothly upon leaving. Wondering why the test there is twice the price I paid?

What’s the deal if it comes back positive? We also going with a kiddo and I’m trying to figure out how to handle a baby if we have to self isolate… baby food is my biggest concern lol
Sorry you had a bad experience. We had our COVID tests done in Santo Domingo. No appointments necessary, just walk in, pay about $35, no pain, and results in a few hours. Show your email results at the airport check-in.
next time im not doing the antigen test! lol i think thats why it was so bad
Wait...! Are all the Covid tests in DR done like that? I used to get Covid tested every 72 hours here in the USA, before I was forced to take the jab for work, but it was never a painful test. Just a little 10 second swab in each nostril that didn't go all the way in. I hope the airport does the one I used to get and not the one you got cos that sounds very painful and uncomfortable.

@Mills where in Santiago did you go for the Covid test? I go to a clinic in front of the stadium and pay about $31 for just me. Thanks in advance!
we went to referencia in los jardines! they have an outdoor station set up you just stay in the car
Covid test are not suppose to hurt. Your description of the test sounds a bit odd. It sounds as if this person who conducted the test could have not been properly trained
it hurt soo badly lol. but also i have a pretty bad deviated septum so maybe that contributes?

Those Duty-free shops at airports are a bunch of thieves. They are overpriced and pure rip-off. At both airports in Santiago and Santo Domingo I got tricked. They sold me some food items that were outdated, and inedible. I realized it only after I got home 3,000 miles away. On another occasion, I made a last-minute purchase before boarding. I was in a rush and didn't bother to check my receipt. I noticed they charged me twice for the same Item but realized it after I was already on the plane but if I got off, they wouldn't let me back on. What was I going to do, go back to get a refund? That is why I don't buy anything there anymore.
sooo expensive lol i never get anything there ever. maybe once i got some cigars but i was way younger lol. that’s soo frustrating im sorry!
@@MillsRepDom -Don't worry, live and learn but thanks anyway. I learn there is nothing duty "free" about those shops but rather "Duty Free Mafia". It is more like a 7-11 a higher price convenience store. You are in and out quick but pay a premium. Now I know why they don't allow anyone to purchase anything outside of the airport to take on the plane. Because tits bad for business.
