If you like mint chocolate chip ice cream, then you like this one. Its really good. Its not strong. It tastes really good. Its a great desert cocktail, or even a sweet treat.
When I was a kid my dad kept a cocktail book on top of his liquor cabinet and I liked to go through it because it had pretty photos and colours. Fast forward to when I reached legal age but had minimal drinking experience, my friends and I went to a small bar because noisy pubs and cheap club alcohol wasn’’t worth the money when you are a broke uni student. The bartender asked what we want (no menu, we got nervous) and I immediately say grasshopper because that was the only drink that suddenly popped in my head that I wanted to try. My friends were impressed, bartender was amused, and I had a great bar/drink experience. My friends asked me what was in it, so I explained that it had grasshopper liquor and the bartender was totally in on it! Of course being broke uni students we couldn’t afford to go back, but that experience and that bartender is still my gold standard in my definition of a nice bar. All this to say I love the name and I love the drink!
My boyfriend likes grasshoppers but they tend to be a bit weak for me. What would you think of substituting something like Baileys for the heavy cream?
First heard of the Grasshopper in a second season episode of the 1993 series Kung Fu: The Legend Continues. Kwai Chang Kane (David Carradine) is apparently now a time traveler and he's at a part and is drinking something interesting. "Got a nice kick to it. What's it called?". When Kane hears the answer, he looks at the camera and gives us one of those looks. It was hilarious.
Great video. The restaurant where it was created in New Orleans, Tujagues, is pronounced "twojacks." I just thought you'd like to know that it is pronounced that way.
I have been watching this channel for some time now and I really love how alot of the drinks turned out to be. Maybe do a Halloween cocktail since we're very close to Halloween? I had something called the Vampire Cocktail, could you do a video on this drink?
Thank you. I was looking at doing some for Halloween. I can tackle the Vampire Cocktail. As there is more than one recipe for that cocktail, do you remember if the one you had creamy or not?
That would work. It would change yhe flavourful and the texture a little. Definitely try It and let me know how it turns out for you and what specs you settle on.
I like a good stout too. Give this a try. I think you will like it. And tell us what you think. Its like mint chocolate chip ice cream. Which is on of my favorite ice creams.
Hey, do you know if its possible to make a sugar free grasshopper? if there are sugar free creme de menthes in the market or if it is possible to make it from scratch?
Oh... so this is an American cocktail from New Orleans. Never know that.LOLOLOLLL In the 5 stars pub it used to sell $ 25AUD ..but no more making. That's why I came here to DIY one by my own.
I love this drink but I wish there was a way to make it stronger. It's a great looking, tasting , refreshing drink, but you need 2 or 3 to get a buzz. Do you think anybody would know if I snuck in a little vodka? Lol.....

First learned of this from “The Big Bang Theory”. I’ve never tried, but I sure want to! This drink has always looked so damn good though.
It is really good for sure.
My boyfriend likes grasshoppers but they tend to be a bit weak for me. What would you think of substituting something like Baileys for the heavy cream?
You could. or you could try my Flying Grasshopper ruclips.net/video/E_sM5WzlW1A/видео.html
They also talk about the Grasshopper in the movie Ronin. Robert deNiro explains how to make it.
Its been a while since I saw that movie. It's famtastic.

I can picture it now.
Sick history lesson, I love to learn about the past of my craft.
Thank you very much. I'm glad you liked it. Is there anything you would like me to make?
@@boozeontherocks Your take on the variations of the "Adult iced teas", that sounds great.
@@stuardx Thank you very much.

@@boozeontherocks selfproclaimedfoodie.com/vampire-cocktail/ this is the exact drink I had
Perfect. This will be done.
Do you think it’d be alright with coconut cream for the lactose intolerant folks among us?
That would work. It would change yhe flavourful and the texture a little. Definitely try It and let me know how it turns out for you and what specs you settle on.
Haven't tried this yet. More of an IPA sipper but this looks like a good dessert drink to try out. Other than a stout.
I like a good stout too. Give this a try. I think you will like it. And tell us what you think. Its like mint chocolate chip ice cream. Which is on of my favorite ice creams.
excellent...especially loved by ladies because not too boozy and very sweet! if you add vodka although, you have the flying grasshopper! ;)
So now that you have me hooked on the Idea, I will make a video of this eventually.
@@boozeontherocks yeah! go for it! :)
Those are good if there made right
I agree

That Is a good question. There are some recipes online. I will have to look a few up.
Would you be able to make a video on it? @@boozeontherocks
I'd add vodka for a slippery grasshopper!
I thought that was a flying grasshopper.
Theybuse to just drink creme demint after dinner just a shot
Drink sizes were smaller then.
Where can I find these cremes?
If you are looking for the chocolate liqueur, your local liquor store should have some, or may be able to order it in.
I appreciate the info.@@boozeontherocks
Gonna subscribe to you because of all the people with „how to“ channel you are definitely the hottest! 😁
Thank you! Much appreciated!

Hi Jeffrey, that would depend on how much you added. yrt .5 oz/15 ml start and see how it tastes.
OMG hit the thumbs down button twice 😂
Awesome!!
Seems a little uncalled for
Big bang theory sucks hard
Interesting
