  • The Spectrum Intelligent Filter is the most powerful stereo filter effect pedal ever created.
    Learn more at: www.sourceaudi...
    Building on almost 15 years of filter pedal technology and know-how, Spectrum is the culmination of Source Audio's finest envelope sounds and best thinking on how to easily incorporate those sounds into rigs of all types. The pedal not only features finely crafted envelope filter effects inspired by some of the most iconic and sought-after effects pedals on the market, it also includes buzzing, synth-like octave/distortion/filter effects. The pedal is a cleverly integrated, all-in-one funk/psych/electronic/jam machine. Whether you want to easily plug and play with its six carefully crafted factory sounds, browse the ever-growing Neuro library for additional sounds created by Source Audio and other Spectrum owners, or use the Neuro’s deep sound editing tools to create your own highly personalized presets, this filter pedal will satisfy the needs of any guitar, bass, keyboard, horn, or (insert your instrument here) player.
    Big thanks the following musicians for playing on this demo:
    Nathan Navarro on bass: / unoriginalson
    Lyle Brewer on most of the guitars: / lylebrewermusic
    Paul Candiore on the super-cool Harmony Rocket.

    If you're watching this and thinking about getting one,DO IT. The pedal is worth the price out of the box with the factory presets. The ability to load user presets from the website makes it a steal. Plug it into the editing software and you'l understand that it is indeed the ULTIMATE FILTER (and I have owned almost all of the legendary envelope filters)

    So about 8 months in and I love this pedal. Been using the factory presets and a few from the online community(I have noticed a few of these will no longer load onto my pedal. Obviously not a hardware issue,as others load fine)
    Anyway,I am finally going to dive into creating my own presets. Been avoiding this as I can see myself forgetting to actually play my bass and geeking out on the editor. If no one hears from me in a few months send some Reeces cups and tell my mom I love her😁

      So glad you dig the Spectrum. Odd that you're not able to load certain presets. Can you tell me the names of the presets you're not able to load? Also, are you loading presets with the Neuro Mobile App or the Neuro Desktop Editor?

    I have been looking for something that could do the envelope stuff but also some LPF ramps like the Chase Bliss Condor. This is it. Plus the octave and fuzz stuff. This is a great pedal.
    If can be as simple or as complex as you want it. I just got one last week and I’ve just been using the presets and they work so well.
    The biggest thing for me though, is that it works well with different guitars and amps. Every other envelope filter I’ve used works with one of my guitars but not the other. This sounds great in every setup I’ve used so far. They’re at the Strymon level of quality, ease of use, and options in my opinion.

    I'm torn between getting the Spectrum or the new C4. I'm tempted to get the C4 since it can do everything the Spectrum can and more I just worry that there's a lot going on under the hood of the C4 that I would never use. Being a bass player what I'm really after is emulating some of the great synth bass parts in a lot of songs so I would really only need the envelope, octave down, phaser, chorus and distortion effects. I doubt I would ever use the arpeggiator or some of the multi voice features of the C4. I'm curious as to how many of the presets for the C4 could also work on the Spectrum.

    • @sourceaudioeffects
      @sourceaudioeffects  5 лет назад +7

      The primary thing that the C4 does that the Spectrum does not do is generate oscillators. The oscillators are how you create true synthesizer sounds. The Spectrum can create some really awesome "synth-like" sounds, but it is not a truly a synthesizer sound. All that said, they're both great pedals.

      @@sourceaudioeffects I agree I'm Funking with both pedals and that said it opens up a multitude of creative possibilities! • @SisterRose

      @@sourceaudioeffects I feel like as someone who owns synths & lots of VSTs I am definitely more of a "synth-like" person when it comes to bass(and guitar). I like to hear some of the dynamics or sounds of the instrument influence the final result rather than just reading the pitch. I've always liked the Line 6 Filter stuff for that reason but it doesn't quite nail the range of sounds I'd like. I felt anxiety over whether to get this or shell out for the C4 when i wasn't sure i could justify the price - hearing this it might be a good buy for me though. I particularly like the inclusion of the Foldback distortion as it's an underrated "synth" effect giving you tones somewhere between Buchla and FM Synth tones, which are really good for bass to anyone who grew up with a Sega Megadrive/Genesis.

    • @mikechecka292
      @mikechecka292 3 года назад +1

      @@jsook I love it. I have just been using the pedal straight out of the box with the factory presets . The pedal would be worth the price with just these 6 presets. I had it plugged into the computer once just long enough to update the firmware. There are tons of user created presets that you can burn to the pedal which only makes it even more of a deal. Honestly,I am surprised that I havent tried any of these but like I said,the pedal is great right out of the box. And when you consider that the software allows you to basically build your own pedal with all of the filters,distortions,and octavers this pedal is insane. Normally I would have been deep into this feature as well but I am really still enjoying the pedal as is. Source Audio have really blown me away with this one. The options are almost intimidating. I could easily plug this thing into my PC and spend hours playing with all the filters and distortions and forget to play my bass😁
