I heard that apparently this is a common occurrence in China, hence why all of the videos are of Chinese people, there are other cases where these scammers would actually die because the person who was getting scammed would decide to actually run them over, mynmnowledge of this is from a while ago so I don't remember the specifics of why
The reason is because if the person is alive, the driver will having to pay for the person medical bills for the rest of the person's life. It's also the fact that in China, murder give you very little time and fined so to them, going to jail is better then paying.

The worst is the guy who ran up the car and stomped on the dash. They'll smash the windscreen to argue that impact shows it hit something. Even if you don't pay him, you still have to repair your car. It can be dangerous because you can't immediately drive off. If you don't have a dash cam or driving through an area without cctv it creates real issues. They target nice cars and foreigners who would be too afraid to settle in court. There have even been cases where doctors will knowingly write false medical notes exaggerating injuries for higher claims.
That incident with the white car backing up into the guy was shady as hell.. But at least he was recording so you can clearly see what happened. Everyone who drives should have a dash camera to the front and to the back
