Dammit man, finish the Sherpa! 😉 My longest project is about a year, almost killed me waiting that long, lol. I don't think I could ever restore an old car, just don't have the patience!
I beg to differ lol if it took you a yr to finish a build you hve the patience of jobe. I generally knock out a custom build start to finish in give or take a wk or 2.... 🤟🏽
The trouble with you young'uns today is that you lack patience. You don't appreciate that fine feeling of anticipation. I've spent longer than that just selecting beadlocks.
@@jerryvolpini7987 As I said, young'un. Patience is a virtue, a much better one than many which I despise. Without patience we wouldn't have a fine, 18 year old sipping whisky, temperance being one of those _other_ virtues.
Two years but it was a plane out of foam. Did scale up a plan to 150% for way to big battery's. Was not willing to buy smaller ones 😂. It was not a complicated build but my dedication was complicated. Someday I finished it and it flew very good.
I have a 6 shooter in my sth whiskey chassis right now. Once the crawlmaster minis come back I plan to take it out for a revolver. If it doesn't happen in the next few months I'll get a mamba micro instead. I've been holding out for what seems like forever lol
I think it’s just the camera angle. These chassis normally have a wider skid, with narrower servo mount and chassis braces, so they pinch the front and rear when assembled.
@@Tom_Wade ahhh ok, yah actually later on in the video with some other over head shots it seem to change angle but wasnt convinced. I was waiting for some high tech answer why the buldge is put there for a reason ... all i got was "Camera Angle" LOL! Thanks again!
I'm 47 yrs old and I catch all the funnies u refer too. "My back my neck, my neck and my bavk" and then ur name and the long screw driver.. LMAO 🤣 your such a neard. LOL. Yes I agree that's a compliment
John you're such a normal dude. Its so funny watching you work. Mainly because I see myself working the same way. I seem to get in my own way when building because I move around the chassis and to other things too often. And totally agree with the 8 year old theory. My daughter will stand there long enough to touch everything on my desk and drop something on the floor. Then she's done.
any 540 can brushless would work, but you'll also need a Mamba X or like esc, by the time you do that you'll have 3 x in the motor & esc then what the wltoy cost. your looking $250-$350 for a decent brushless combo. I'd invest in a Hobby Grade Crawler first.... 👍🏼
The new 10 pole inrunner motors have the same rotor diameter as the Puller. More poles do not equal more torque unless designed a certain way, which will also cause a reduction in power density and increase to no load losses. It's always a trade off.
Your old school that watch with the calculator & noted could be replaced with one phone. 😂 I completely understand though on the slow progress unfortunately life takes its toll on RC time. I can’t even stand it. I’m currently in the process of upgrading my Gen 8 V2. I’ve had the parts for months now. My build consists of a Pro Line Chevy body, Treal axles, Hobby wings Esc, Nitro Hobbies crawl master motor, & new bead locks. I’m sure I’m forgetting something. I’ve managed to get the rear axle in shorten the wheel base, install the motor & Esc & cut out my body. I just need the time to paint the body & don’t want to rush it with just a little time to do it. Mean time I’ve put the bumpers back on & the original body back on & taken it out to test & I’m impressed with it so far. Now I have a new TRX sport truck & got metal bead locks on it & adjusted the rear bumper but have a Hobby Wings Esc & one of your crawlmaster sport 550 8 turn motors on hand to install in it. I’m going to run it a bit stock but can’t wait to get the new stuff in it. I have the Marksmen & I’m impressed with the motor & Esc combo in it. Thanks for the great products & hope your feeling a little better everyday. Happy Holidays & Merry Christmas..
Took 2 months to build Chunk. Took the ecto an made it a beast. It eats LCG's for breakfast an still has room for rocky road ice cream. Goonies never say die!!! 😂😂😂
Hi #John , i can't find info on: is it easier on integrated BEC to supply power at higher voltage? In my understanding, the smaller stepdown, the less heat. Am i right and is there anything else You could add?
The smaller the step-down, the less heat. The circuits can be designed specifically for high step down/ low duty/ low amp/ variable switching rates but it normally makes a compromise on higher load performance or efficiency.
@@HolmesHobbies Thanks very much for reply John. I have managed to find...the power issue. More voltage=more servo power=more Watts draw from BEC=more heat. So less heat=more heat=it's very tricky, no answear without testing, not knowing before purchase :-) I guess that's why, there is no video about it, no point ;-p I think i might stick to standard voltage servo?
@@HolmesHobbies wont that be detremental to descent? i would use extra brass in front and have allow in rear too for more stability. but good climbing.
I have a vs410 that is missing the front axle... It has been over two years since I bought the chassis kit and started piecing together the build... The front d44 has always eluded me. I have a rear axle, it's all complete except the front axle they have never been in stock
Hell, I've been working on my sherpa for nearly 14 months now, driveshaft issues, electronic issues, enjoy the build. That's what. Matters
This man has a loose screw or 3! ❤❤
You should try and compete. Good opportunity to test out the electronics that you designed. And I would def. watch. Thanks for the info and videos.

latest news i got the axial 3 axle set but nothing else and no money for the hobby but for sure it will come together one day
latest news i ordered a cage for this project on amazon from injora? or so, let`s see what i will get ia am very nervos🤣
Awesome Friday reference!!!! Your neck and your back!! That’s great! Also good RC stuff as well…..
Been working on a rcfwd bully 2 build for about 5 years going pretty good a little slow but as soon as I buy the kit things should pick up lol

TRX4 axle based 8x8x8 also a 2 year build. with active cantilerver suspension. just ordered your puller pro r and shv800 for it.
Let me know in the comments!
I want a phinix
You guys have bins and bins of servos?🤓
I wish.
Got a scx10.2 kit when they first got released and finished it this summer :)
7 month, I turned a AMG 6x6 trx into a Defender 6x6 also 7 month for extremflight turbo duster, caused on no money

I have seen a lot of people that do these builds and the gspeed builds have this. Whats with the painters tape on the links? Its driving me crazy lol
It just marks which links are which so its easy to build.

6 years my defender build
I have a motorcycle I have been working on for twelve years.

It's nice to see I'm not the only one that struggles with butterfinger syndrome😆
Not an RC but 8 years now on a 1/35 scale M4A1 Sherman tank lol. It's ready for paint at least.
Quick Q John, Asiatees have the Revolver Classic motors but the list them as 2000kv and not 1950 like on the HH site, what’s that all about? Cheers AJ
Maybe just typo

Curious how the puller pro motors have more torque than the new 10 pole motors? 🤔 less poles doesn't equal less torque I guess haha. All confused now

Can I sensor your crawl master? Or so I need to get a different ESC? Can I run a sensored, sensorless?

I don't ever really finish builds. They're always an ongoing project. Always tinkering.
are you gonna use mismatching axle housings? or are you gonna put a metal on rear. or is it just painted haha
Mismatched. Alloy in front and plastic in rear to help forward weight bias.
@@HolmesHobbies wont that be detremental to descent? i would use extra brass in front and have allow in rear too for more stability. but good climbing.

2 years and still building? My first TRX4 is still being built and it was originally an RTR.
Are any of our rigs ever truly finished?
Talking about an 8 year old not staying on task. But this build is taking more then 2 years haha
Builds are never done.
My neck my back...we can settle outta court for $20 hahahahaha
Just like me. Too many projects. Drives me crazy bouncing back and forth. But the list will help. Leave a copy of it with the truck lol

your chassis is crooked because of the damn pinch they use... 78mm tcase skid and 67mm spacers
Makes it more rigid
