Thank you again to the sponsor BetterHelp! link to 10% off your first month betterhelp.com/KharmaMedic 💭 Really happy to be back 😁 I’ll be making this into a series for all the specialties I rotate through so look out for more videos 🧡
ahh welcome back! sometimes i still can't believe you're a doctor now! since the last video I've been accepted into my top hospital to be a plastic surgery nurse and as a rotational post too seeing another ward and the burns unit. Seeing you as a new doctor helps me come to terms with qualifying this year as a nurse and going through the whole process of slowly gaining more responsibility as you settle in more.
Can I just say thank you. I’m a nurse and a few weeks ago I had to do CPR on a patient (I was working in a aged care facility) When you were talking about DNR/CPR you said how traumatic it can be on the patient and the person performing CPR. I was shaken up for quite a few days afterwards. I was fortunate as the patient survived (she started breathing after a few rounds of CPR) When we send a resident to hospital, As much as we try to document all that has happened and or the residents history on our transfer to hospital form it’s hard to capture everything they need to know. It’s amazing what goes into caring for a person as all the health care professionals involved. When you spoke about “difficult/emotional” discussions you have to have with the family, that’s so hard. I have to have those discussions regarding end of life or palliative care with some families before they are referred to SPACE (Specialist Palliative Care in Aged Care). You seem like such a genuine caring doctor
Very interesting video Nasir, so good to see you back everytime you release a new video ! I'm a 4th year medical student in Geneva Switzerland and this is so valuable for me as it gives me a better understanding of what I can expect going forward as a junior doctor in 2 years. Thanks a lot for what you're doing, and wish you a lot of good things in medicine and life in general !
Yesterday,I was literally checking your channel to see why you are not uploading videos but today you came with a bang!!Welcome back nasir after a long time.
I really missed the thrill of waiting every Thursday for a new video to drop. Hope you and everyone at home are doing well. Sending my warmest regards.
i am from egypt in medicaluniversity i knew your channel from 3 years ago and i download your study with me videos and if iwant to study i open your videos to motivate me 🥰
You know what Nassir, whenever I feel tired of studying and exhausted of exams, I see your videos. It gives me the will and energy to continue, to be the best student and the best doctor as I can. Thank you for all the efforts you put and all the time you spent. Hope you the best Dr. Nassir karma.
Hey Nasir! I have been watching your channel for a while now and am about to finish my first year as an undergrad! Honestly, being on the pre-med track is tough, but thank you for always being here for all of us and for being so transparent about your journey. It's honestly helping me become more confident in my pursuit towards getting into medical school and becoming a physician! I really appreciated this video and the details you gave for this specific rotation. I look forward to the future videos as well!! I know you have a lot on your plate, so I am wishing you well, the best of luck, and maybe one day I'll see you in a very fancy international doctor meeting of some sort ;D
Good Job really. I met you on the ward we had TB patient together and had to decide on discharge plan. When I met you, I didn't noticed you are new doctor or not experienced so really good job. 😊
I really just entered your playlist's view page and it was there hahaha there was an "unlisted" tag but I could click on it anyway! promise I didnt do anything ilegal 🤪
Man it's so good to see you, it's been 1 year of me watching kharma starting when I was 13 and now 14 you have inspired me to become a doc like you @KharmaMedic Love you ♥️♥️
i cared for both parents at their home before they died - my mom just died last month - nothing prepares you for all the medical issues when an elderly parents tips over ie mom had heart and kidney failure, diabetes, edema, afib etc - the last 6 months of her life were so intense and filled with suffering - both mental and physical......she wanted to die at home and she died in her sleep next to me - i often wonder if i took her back to the hospital if she would still be here since in the last 2 days she was tachardic but sleeping and i couldnt give her heart saving meds to lower heart rate...hospice told me to give her dilaudid instead.
I m a aspiring medical school student in India - entrance exam is on 7th may And your videos just keep inspiring me to be a Doctor Thanks and Wish me luck
Hey Nasir! Always love seeing you put out videos! I had a doubt since you worked in Geriatrics. I have my grandmother at home, she's over 70 years and is very frail. I've always been told that when someone collapses and has no pulse, you start chest compressions and call for help. But since in this case, my grandmother is frail and delicate, should we perform CPR? Since we're not in a medical setting, how do we decide in the moment of we should perform CPR? Should we try it regardless?
I am currently making the switch to medicine and I was wondering...were all of those years studying worth it for you? I am weighing it up and any context would be of great value!
Hello Kharma. Can you make a video about how to maintain a relationship or friendship? Because I am not good at it. I saw your video and understand you used to study 8 hours every day but you can still maintain friendships with your friends very well. Are there any tips on it?
Hey mate, hope you’ve been enjoying FY1. I had a question about OSCEs as I know you smashed them. We’re doing our 3rd year ones soon and been told it is better to not narrate during an examination. Is this the rule that you followed as in most your videos you do commentate during OSCE examinations. Know your busy but any help would be greatly appreciated!
i never thought that i would wish to be a ghost until now.. i want to be one to enter your house, not to haunt you but because your home/space looks so cozy i wanna be there XD
Hey Doc 👋 I am studying immunology and microbiology, but it seems to me really difficult to understand. Can you please help me or other students in this regard Make a video on how to understand immunology and microbiology effectively ❤ By the way, keep doing it ❤

20:38 As a doctor, you must deal with the news or hints of death. I cannot fathom what it’s like. I’m an absolute mess around that concept.

NASIR doesn’t feed us meal prep sized pieces of content anymore. It’s a whole banquet out here now.
Nice to see a blooper again.
Oxford Textbook of Geriatric Medicine, heard this book is good
Great video. Interesting to see what is it like to work in geriatrics. I’m curious if you are still going usmle ?

Just a suggestion Nasir, using no background music or having it on low volume works better when there is describing in the video. peace ✌️
