After our kayaking adventure on the glacial lake at the foot of the Valdez Glacier which sits just outside the small town of Valdez, we visited both of the breweries in the city.

We thought both breweries were exceptional and the brewers were doing some pretty amazing things what, hops and malts. Our favorites included the Spruce Tip Ale and the Coffee Blonde, but there were so many good options from both places. We felt especially fortunate to get the meet Rhonda, the brewer at Growler Bay and talk to the manager at Valdez Brewing. They both reinforced the sense we had of how easy it would be to fall in love with this little town nestled in the heart of the Prince William Sound.
