Hey everyone, a lot has changed since I published this video and it seems RUclips's updated TOS for Shorts has become more strict regarding what is considered fair use for remixed content such as this. Quite a few channels are getting hit with copyright. I'll keep up to date with the news, but for right now, please tread with caution using this exact method. If you want to do something similar, I would highly advise adding more originality to your shorts such as commentary or reacting so as to better qualify for Fair Use. I'm strongly considering taking this video down because it seems outdated, but a lot of people have told me it inspired them to take action with their own channels (while not necessarily copying this particular methodology) and think outside of the box. I will first make every attempt to direct as many people as possible to this pinned post as a warning, but if the video begins negatively affecting the audience, I'll have no choice but to remove. True, the conversion rate should be calculated for the people that click the link, not for the people that just watch the video. I think a very large majority of viewers don't even read the description. Considering the ones that do, it is probably realistic that only a few of those click the link, and out of those that click it, it is probably reasonable for 1 out of 100 let's say to buy the product, maybe even less. So considering all of this, you still might get some sales, but sadly it might be pennies. I wonder , after you get into the shorts partner program, how much money can you realistically make from ad revenue? considering shorts that average let's say 1000 views.

@@0xSuperPrime Thanks man! I started TikTok about 2 months ago and have ~4500 followers. I've had my RUclips for 3 years and post the same shorts as I do on Tiktok but algorithm seems to not like my stuff and I'm stuck at 1200 subs on YT.

Very high quality videos for sure. I am going for the idea of work harder than anyone else, while learning and improving with time. While I have not seen the huge success on individual posts, I have uploaded every day for more than 2 years, and am seeing channel growth of 40-150% month on month. I am learning what works well and what doesn't and am doubling down on what does. I would say it's never too late to update the title or thumbnail of an old video, even if you uploaded them years ago. What keeps me motivated is my vision of a future where I stay away from the 9-5 forever, which I have done so far for the lsat 4 years or so.

Good video. I am doing yt shorts and tiktoks, and I feel like RUclips Shorts are future because people have short span of attention now, and it's really popular with Gen Z (almost as much as TikTok). That's why last few months I have been trying to make content for both platforms, but I generally put my focus on short expressive videos (and then I use services from Famester to get easier into the loop) Easy business honestly.

technically the people in the videos are potential copyright strikes, you could be building this for years and then suddenly get 3 claims and the whole channel is gone, especially since the whole short will just be that person and you will most likely have serval shorts of a single person you took out a podcast, one annoyed person and boom its all gone.
so how do you work around this?
Remix it . Maybe screen record instead of ripping the file. I'm making a new video soon if you want to see if it works . It'll be about a Taylor swift Concert

The creators are getting leads / followers by mentioning and even linking the source. You're not claiming to be the creator, your passing on the praise.
just avoid smaller creators/really controversial or heated moments. then i think you should be good. also try not to spread misinformation or promote lies

Would you consider making a discord for people to make partners and ask questions about stuff, or is that off brand? I think it would be useful since there is always some steps that have to be left out of these videos, so people being able to help each other out like in a discord server would be pretty good. Idk though, just an idea.

made my first short walking along with this video. going to put out one short every weekend and see how it goes. thank you
Saw this video a couple days ago and realized I spend more time coming up with excuses as to why not to start doing something I'm so passionate about than anything else. And so, less than 24hours ago I created this channel, it didn't even have a logo at the time like the end of your video ironically suggested...I grabbed some clips and soundbites, used a free video editing tool and posted my 2 first shorts within minutes of each other. Tiny ones, and by the time I had cooked up a new logo, I was at over 1000 views...and had 3 subs...like 6hours later. It's still not been a full 24hours since my channel launched. 10 videos in, 3000views later, 8subs... I've realized just how freaking easy and rewarding it is.
Seriously, here's to everyone finding it in themselves to start doing what they love to do. I'll keep at it, my niche might change, I may dabble in long form content in the future, but for now, I'm going to keep actively doing what I find to be super fun and rewarding.
