Heyy,
I'm high school student and I really don't have enough time to do bullet journaling but I really want to take it up this year to keep myself organised. So, could you do a bullet journaling for students in 10 mins kinda video plssss💜💜
P.S - I really love your videos.
Thank-you! That's a FANTASTIC idea :)
Hey! How did it go?
The original bullet journal method by Ryder Carroll is quite simple. Everyone has time for it..you may not have time for an art journal. Check out the Bullet Journal's RUclips page.
I only take 5-10 minutes each week to prep my bujo. BUT I take close to two hours to make my spread (month at a glance, goals for the month, expenses, habit&modd trackers) at the beginning of the month.
Oh neat! I love my longer planning sessions at the beginning of the month...so therapeutic :)
Yes, indeed!
It takes me around 45-1hr to make monthly spreads, and probably under 30 minutes to make the weekly one. It for me that's a time to destress and listen to music so I don't view it as a chore- I actually get really sad when I'm so busy that I have to delay it (like my May setup right now haha)
I can relate!! I always have a big mug of coffee beside me with my latest Netflix obsession on in the background....it's quality "me" time :D
Caitlin's Corner exactly! I personally can never multitask with TV but I would do it with music or podcasts!
I like these minimal spreads because even though I'm creative I put that creativity into my painting and it can be overwhelming having so many outlets. Love that we're all different :)
Me, too! But I've been so stubborn about modifying for when I don't have time. I won't do it at all of i cant do it "my way," and then it doesn't get done at all. Before I know it, my schedule is all over the place. But I definitely prefer to use it as a distress period
Me too! I’m starting to do it again for/in 2019 and I want to spend some time doing it to get me off me phone, for a hobby, and just to be more creative with it! But this video was helpful for page inspirations and just ways to make it simple
This is soooo helpful! As someone who wants to start getting into bullet journalling everything online seemed suupppeerrr overwhelming! Thank you x100
so far the best video about journal's I have seen. I don't need a new hobby that cost me money to buy stuff that will land up in my garage. I need to be organized. Thank you from the bottom of my heart
finally!!! somebody who understands the concept of minimal
I believe Ryder Carol spent less than a minute to prep his bujo for a new month. Left page: dates, right page-todos. Next page after that was the date of a today. That’s all
mysummertouch indeed. It wasn’t created to be so... time consuming and art filled. I enjoy giving mine some color but all the ones on Instagram and such are just very over the top and of course if they like it it’s fine, but it creates a bit of a false reality.
I think the great thing about this is that you can start with a simple, ten-minute layout like this, then if you want to spend lots of time embellishing it with Tombows, doodles, and washi tape, you can! It gives a great starting point. Thanks for the excellent tutorial!
I really loved this video! I feel like I have a lot of trouble with sticking to my bullet journal because I get incredibly wrapped up in the design. I'm going to challenge myself to make my pages for this month in under 15 minutes.
I like this a lot! I usually spend a lot of time on my bullet journal when I can, because I find it therapeutic and relaxing. I like this tho for when I don't have as much time. Another quick tip / add on if you want some colour is just to grab a colour pencil or a pen in a different colour to ad a little something.
my bujo is very simple. I have noticed that I don't use weeklys. So I prepare my month at a glance ahead of time (5 minutes) and then have my dailies with a simple header. I don't prepare those but just put my header on top in the morning and then jot my to-do down. That normally takes me around 3 minutes. :) Apart from that I have my collections and normally I only start them if I feel like doodeling and designing stuff in my bujo. I love this system and have been using it with little variation for nine months now :)
This is exactly what I do too.
I know it's not exactly bullet journaling because there's not as much freedom to add or take away, but I found a cute planner with a notes space at the beginning of the month that I use for a monthly spread (it already has a month calendar) and I just decorate that and other parts of the week as I go. for a weekly to do list I either insert a note card or a large sticky note. it makes it really easy to have something cute and functional without spending so much time on preparation. when starting a month it takes me less than ten minutes or less than five if I don't have much planned yet.
That's awesome!! Very time efficient method! 😊
Where'd you find it? If there's a link please show me
what a unique bullet journal video Caits! Love this idea and the fact that it took only 10 min means even I could attempt it myself ;)
Haha, thanks Nikola 😊
I love minimalism, the journal looks so good and so simple to make. Thanks
Thanks, Harsha!
ty.ty.ty. i have been looking for a quick pretty way to plan. now i will stop looking and get back to doing. ty sooo much
Thank you 🙏 for sharing-I’ve been struggling with my planning format this year and your video not only inspired my creativity but gave me permission to do what makes me comfortable! Happy New Year 🥳
Caitlin, I still use this today as my goto! You're 10 min student video is also wonderful! If you ever get the chance, I would love an updated 10 min spread geared towards full-time employment! Thank you for all of your amazing ideas!
I love that you are always responding to comments!! It is someting so cute. love youu
Thank-you so much Maria!! I try my best to get to as many as I can...chatting with everyone in the comments is one of my favourite parts about posting videos :))
I haven't been journaling for long (it's been six months!) but usually I just do my weekly spread when i have 5 minutes of free time in class, and maybe add a quote sometime throughout the week. If I decide to do something other than my usual month at a glance, small quote, and goals it can take me two hours for the month, but usually i just spend 45 minutes, sometimes over the course of two days as i am somewhat busy, but journaling is therapeutic and de-stressing. I do think i will add a quick tracker because it would be nice to see how i feel and what i do at the end of the month
I agree about your point about journaling being therapeutic....I love putting on a podcast or some music and just getting lost in the process :)
Thank you for this. I love the idea of a mood/ health tracker and also the gratitude list. This feels more doable then other bullet journal examples I have seen.
Thank-you, Lynda!
Im so addicted To bullet journaling and i only started today xD
Saaaaameee
Love this so much! Definitely one of my favourites of yours xx
Yes!!!
You should make a series of these!
😍😍
awsome! simple & effective!! love it!
LOVE how simple it is!
+Natália Santana Faria Thanks!!
My bullet journal routine: During the summer I do daily spreads and I just do whatever I want because I have lots of time, so I add a ton of random pages with poetry, I doodle, i journal about my day, etc..
During the school year I do minimalist weekly spreads only and I just use Crayola markers to make it colorful. I habit and mood track year round.
I make my new weekly spreads every Friday or Saturday. I make my new monthly's a day or two before the first day of the month.
I was looking for something simple like that because i'm a lazy person who can't draw a thing plus that my handwriting is a mess
So that was really helpful, thank you.
I bought my first bullet journal today and this is very inspiring and very helpful, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! 😋❤️😋
Perfect! I’ve been lagging on starting September spread bc I didn’t make any time. It’s my birthday month and I put all this pressure on myself to choose the right then or make it the best. Now I have no excuse. Got to make this BUJO work for me and keep at it.
your videos are so great! I love that they're to the point; other videos I've watched take soloooong. can't wait to keep binge watching
Thanks! Glad you like the videos, Mabel!!
I needed this because I'm a perfectionist and also because I compare my spreads to the ones on Instagram and I seriously just need to get my ideas on the page lol. Thank youuuu 😚
Thanks for this video, I absolutely loved 😍😍 you save my wishes to start a bullet journal 😍😍😍
The amount of stress I've been having about this concept of a bullet journal for my life and new job just went down a bunch knowing that it can be done and cute and totally ME in a super short amount of time. :) Thanks for this.
Absolutely! You're so very welcome!
I color mine up a bit. If I could draw I would. If i want some pictures i just print some but as of right now i colored it up just a bit with my dual brush pens.i also keep my trackers simple. Just write out the date and literally write my moods in a list style. I have not wanted to do this for so long because everyone's is so complex and gives me anxiety. Outlining my journal for a few days helped the fear of messing up. I love that I actually started to do it and there's something very prideful in creating your own no matter how simple. I spend a few minutes multiple times a day bullet journaling. When I first created my journal is took me hours just because I was thinking so much about it. Going forward when creating new monthly and weekly spreads as I get more comfortable with my layout I don't think it will take long. Even if it does it's a very relaxing way to spend your time.
This is so cool! Seriously, I take hours to set up my BuJo and all thanks to you Caitlin, now I can actually not waste time and organise my life in an efficient manner!
Yay! Happy the video helped!
So happy to see that you practically reply to most of the comments down here!
I’m so impressed that you did that in 10 mins.
I love it!!!
I'm excited to do this! thanks for the guide!!
My pleasure, Lauren!
THIS VIDEO SAVED ME THANK YOU
Outstanding....love this video....I don't really give a hoot about , the sticker, color scrapbook, bujo style....I like to keep it simple and effective...
If it takes more than 10 -20 minutes to put my day notes in the book....it is too long, and becomes a hobby book..LOL
Cheers.
loving this spread
+male reyes Thankssss
So simple and cool ^^, I really like it
I really want to start a bullet journal!
Best bullet journal video I've seen! 😍 Thank you!!
Thanks, Katie!
Caitlin, that was a great idea for a video with a timer. I would just like to add that despite having little time to set up your month you can always come back to add a doodle, washi, stickers or even a magazine clip, which is what I do. In my daily planning, I always use an extra min or two to make a little drawing or grab an embellishment from my gold bowl of cutie. lol ☺
Very good point! Adding those little touches can bring a page to a new level :D
I haven’t started bullet journaling yet. I’m stalking RUclips trying to learn. Thanks for making it simple.
it's so cool! definitely gonna try this later💞 thankyouu
Awesome to hear! Thanks for your comment :)
Your videos brighten my day :)
This was simple and useful. Thank you a lot!
+Kenny Steven Fernández Torres You're welcome!
I loove bullet journal ❤️
Amazing!!! And stylish!
Thanks!
Thank you so much for this video! It can be overwhelming as a new bullet journaler (Not a real word LOL) to see the elaborate spreads and be intimidated. This really helped me take a step back and complete my monthly setup for the first time :)
Yay! That's AMAZING to hear, Alicia!! Good luck with your journaling :)
In total I probably spend an hour each day planning future days, writing in to-do lists and filling in my monthly trackers. At the end of each week, I will spend another hour doing my weekly spread for the following week and at the end of each month I spend a good 2-3 hours setting up the next month. I love my bujo and spend as much time in it as possible
Awww. That's so beautiful! :D
I might be getting one for 2019 Christmas and Santa might bring it I really wa t one they look so fun and I’m getting great ideas to start it of with and yeah it looks just fun easy and calming
this really helped. thank you
This is adorable!! I have yet to get into bullet Journaling but want to do one.
+Candi Michelle I say, do it !! 😊😊😊
This is so perfect. I would never be able to do without rulers and white out lol
or use a Frixion erasable pen if you think you made a mistake.
Great idea! I really enjoyed the video. Have a lovely day 😊
+Μαρία Π. Thank-you so much! Hope you have an equally lovely day as well 😊
this is FABULOUS!! Just subscribed! Thanks for the inspiration and simplicity :)
Aww thank-you! Welcome to the family!
amazing and simple, thx
I haven't started bullet journaling but I am thinking about it. It all seemed so daunting because I am not particularly artistic but since watching your video and other videos about simple journaling, I have become more confident that I might be able to do this. Thank you!
Suggestion for videos: in case you haven't, maybe do a beginners journaling video. Thanks a lot!
You definitely are able to do it, Ana!! Glad my videos showed you how easy it can be :) I haven't done a video for beginners but that's a great idea!
for bz student like i am ... i do love ur spread... tq 4 sharing
this is so cute ! and really helpful too since ive been meaning to start a bullet journal but havent had any inspo :/
i like this spread. this is one of the simpliest ones i have seen. which i like. if i ever do a bullet journal i will give this one a try. i just bought a planner so i cant try bullet journaling yet.
Thanks, Nick! Hope you enjoy your planner :)
Love your handwriting.
Thanks, Alaia!
This makes bullet journaling seem so much more doable compared to the crazy complicated things is see usually.
Glad the video helped show you bullet journaling can be simple, Emily!
I LOVE this!
Thank-you!!
You're welcome Caitlyn, Btdubbs, I mentioned you in my upcoming bullet Journal video. I'll be posting it up soon on my channel. Glad to see someone else in TORONTO, Canada, that does bullet journal videos as well. So excited for what's to come on my channel. Can you please also do a video on Cherry Blossoms? and How to draw it on your bullet journal? I know it was the time to see the cherry blossoms in High Park. But I missed the viewing, is it too late? Please do a video on Cherry Blossoms!
omg this was so helpful
Happy to hear that, Alex! Thanks :)
I love to take hours for my BuJo... it's so much fun and relaxing
It really is!
To do yearly or monthly spreads probably around an hour, but my weekly only takes a few minutes because all I have is a menu planner, and daily I just pull out my journal as needed.
Hi Caitlin. Your handwriting is so good. Especially when you do the "fancy" handwriting. Can you teach how to do that?
my bullet journal comes in tomorrow (via mail) and I'm so so so excited! do you have any tips for calligraphy//handwriting? ily so much
This was so inspiring and helpful thank you for this video!
Thank-YOU for watching :)
R u a kpopper
I take like 5 minutes everyday to complete my habits tracker and mark the thing I did during the day as done, I always leave a place after the daily things to do (in my weekly spread) just to say a few words about some things that happened that day. And I take something like 30 minutes to do my weekly spread :)
The daily-time I spent doing my bujo depends on how I feel actually. Some days I'll just want to do a lot of pages and move forward in my journal and some days I just write down two words and that's it.
But I'll say that I spent 2 hours/week on my bullet journal. It take at lot longer to do the monthly spread, something like 1 hour maybe. I'm a beginner so I'm still amazed about how useless this journal is and I'm so motivate to write down lots of things. (I do my bujo for a bit less than a month now)
Liked before watching it just because of your Pixel!
Haha, love it 😂
Very well done in a short amount of time👌😊
+Azemina Ay thanks!
Very helpful thanks!
No problem, Lara!
Amazing *.* really helpfull tips
+TheGiuliJ Thank-youuu! 😊
Great!!
look at it every day I spend maybe 30 mins on it daily. I turned my happy planner into my Bullet Journal
Weekly spreads take me around 30 minutes. I like to use them to test out different ideas, often I will do some research before hand and implement it.
Monthly setup takes longer for the same reasons! May is line art - succulents and cacti! :D
My line graph would be straight sad. Definitely not including that in my Bujo xD beautifully done though and second the school 10 min planing!
Nice! Now I might consider start one as well, always thought I wouldnt have enough time anyway. :)
😍😍😍
Could you do a part 2? I loved this
I love the acoustic guitar soundtrack.
+Renee Laventure 😊😊😊
Really cool Challenge! :)
Thank-you!!!
Your writing is so crisp and beautiful, what can i do to draw cool headlines etc.?
I have two videos on handwriting tutorials that are up on my channel ...those may answer your question :)
An updated (different) version of this would be neat
hahaha that end was hilarious.
I like to do mine monthly so I do my layouts and then it's just minutes here and there :)
I'm on my 4th journal and not because I'm filling them up. Im still confused with everything about bullet journaling. I see so many journals by users who are artistic or the fonts are perfect or just everything. Mine don't flow right (at least not to me). I don't have a very busy life, I just go to work and home but I still want to bullet journal.
I've even tried to journal for work to stay on task at work. An absolute mess. And there aren't any videos to help with that that I've found.
I did enjoy this video however. Very cut dry and simple. May give this one a try. Kind of tired of wasting money.
Well that's the great thing about a bullet journal, you have the freedom to do it anyway you want to make it work for you. maybe other people's styles just doesn't work for your way of thinking we're doing things so just take what you've seen so far as inspiration and just think of what you need and just do that. Hope this helps good luck keep trying you'll get it eventually! 🤍
Freaking Amazing! ❤😍❤😍❤😍
Thanks!
So nice handwriting 😍 you're so nice I wish I could do the same as yours "minimalist"
Aww thank-you so much!
outro was totes adorbs
Thanks! 😝
What should we put jn gratitide ?
1'1.5h for all tracker etc. And about 4h filling them. Daily about 6-10min
i set everything up for six months in one go (or a couple of goes) which might take a few hours. it's functional and colour coded rather than pretty or with a specific aesthetic. which may seem ironic given that im an art student.
That's pretty impressive ! I sometimes struggle with setting up my spread for just a month, let alone six :P
Caitlin's Corner i have a date stamper which speeds things up a bit (im preparing my July-December one atm)
Ok I got it, never I got. Ps. Great video
What is the difference between a dotted notebook and a grid notebook for bullet journaling? Because everyone uses a dotted one (which I can't find cheap on where I live) so I really want to know if it is just better than the grid one or what
Not much of a difference, I just prefer dots because they're less visible :) it's a preference thing!
