The Crown is back...and now really back. For me a true masterpiece. Although it is only march, it is already a fave for The Album of the Year 2018. All 13 Tracks full throttle straight in the face. And a melodic Death Ballad Instruments-only. Bloody good Work. Hail The Crown.
I saw a comment on their Facebook that it was a kind of strange reference to Deathrace King. Death-Venom, Race-Speed, King-Cobra. The band just replied with a wink. It makes too much sense to not be the meaning.
4:57 reused riff from Electric Night off of their album Hell is Here. A complaint? Not so much because it shows where their head is at and that is in the formative years of this band when they were landing on top 10 year end album lists coming out at # 1 for Metal Maniacs magazine. Fuck yesssssss!!!!!!!!!!
Goddamnit. I just bought Drudkh, and the remaster of Paradise Lost's "Host" off iTunes in past 24 hours. Now I'm getting ready for work and I realize I'm going to have to buy this too. I remember listening to "Deathrace King" probably 16-17 years ago. I never followed them much but I remembered I liked that OK. But this is great so far.

I actually really like Paradise Lost's "goth rock" phase. /shrug -- Symbol of Life is what got me into the band. I was 21 when it came out and it helped get me through some pretty rough times personally. Symbol of Life is a little edgier than Believe in Nothing or Host though I guess, I just went back into their catalog and got these later... my favorite album by PL is probably their 2005 self-titled effort. However, keep in mind you're talking to someone who also has tickets to see Taylor Swift this summer... my music tastes are all over the place.
Yeah that RoN album is on my watch list, right now I gotta listen to these others! I went well over my budget this month with music purchases this far, lol.

Let's just say that there wasn't a major internet distribution network back then, and Metal Blade didn't do great marketing for them. Still don't know if they do. But in Sweden? These guys are legendary. I had the good fortune of hearing "Under The Whip" on a Metal Blade sampler CD back when they still had those, and I've owned all their albums since.

Sepultura sounding Infest from Serbia ? Love that band they are insane too. This new Crown album is totally unreal. The vocals are so powerful and intense. Many heavier bands of course but vocal wise not really. You can hear every world clearly but it is so in your face. Pist as hell. And my amazing head phones of course add more brutality to it too as well as being excited as fuck at how amazing the album is.

I'm partial to Napalm Death, both vocalists but especially Mark Greenway. He always sounded like he was about to chew the finish off the studio walls.
