I'm a backend developer who recently started deploying on AWS. I've learned a lot and got things working, but I want to ensure I'm using the best practices and solutions for our needs. I'm also growing interested in cloud architecture, particularly aiming to become an AWS Solution Architect.

I graduated from BTech CSE in 2021 and got job in big company. But there I got into Support Project. Where I have very less exposure to technical work. More of like call centre. I am still doing that job, in the hope as I was told we will move from L1 support to L2 and L3. But its been 2 years I am not seeing any hope. So decided to start with AWS in the hope of getting my carrier path change. And grow myself technically. Currently feeling stuck here so started the Cloud practitioner course.
Great stuff. In a few months, you’ll have a few AWS certs, and a new career. Keep the job interview prep the study goal rather than rush through the AWS certs. Try and get some hands on experience and build a portfolio of work as you go along. Maybe document your learning journey and progress and achievements on LinkedIn or create a blog. This will build a bit of a professional presence that will be often looked at by recruiters. You’ll come across as having great initiative, commitment to learning, clear career goals,
and being that resourceful self-learner.
You got this. Don’t stay “comfortable” in that static position. 2 years in that type of role, you’ve likely mastered L1 support and beyond at this point. I’m only assuming you have very limited growth opportunities and slow promotion cycle. Don’t get stuck ‘cause it’s easy.

@@cloudvikings Thank You for the advice, Currently studying for cloud practitioner form your video after that Solution Architect Associate. Will focus on practical and hands-on as well. Very dire need of new job, as my college friends are in good positions in IT and earning well and I don't see a much hope for myself as I lost my technical touch. AWS gave me hope, so will follow this path...

Thanks for the advice on taking certification, I have started self learning Aws but my problem is "how do I get hands on experience without working as an Aws engineer? Any advice will be appreciated.
The certification path will force you to get hands-on a bit, but I’d try coming up with some project ideas and build a bit of a portfolio as you study. Also, look into any non-profit or other local community businesses where you may be able to volunteer and help with some IT aspects. Another great resource for some projects and challenges is 100daysofcloud.com - there’s a variety of hands-on project ideas, organized by difficulty levels.

This depends a lot on you current experience, and what your goals are with AWS certifications, but for most people, I would say it is worth it.
