I always tell people to put that puzzle piece work out floor under the mattress. Give a bit of stuff foam under the soft foam and only adds 1/2".

I'm excited to see your additions to your electrical work, but have you done a video just on your solar, battery, inverter setup? I'm curious when you're off grid if it'll run your AC.

I have not made a video - the simple answer is YES, I can run my A/C however only for about 60 minutes so the real answer is NO!

I wonder when it comes to the camper how the Zinus would be in comparison the the OG mattress with a 2" memory foam topper when closing the camper. The height should be similar if the Zinus is actually 6" thick.

My OEM mattress was 3.75” thick and had zero density, that’s why I opted to get a whole new mattress. But to answer your question, I think it would close fine, as long as your door isn’t above the side your trying to add the topper.

@@brianblanchard4283 a DIY one, but the camper wont close then due to the door above the king bed.

Did you have any problems with any fiberglass when you opened the matress to cut it?

CAUTION! I had the Zinus opened up to cut down as well, and all looked fine when I heard about the fiberglass issue. I went back out to the garage where I was cutting it, turned off the overhead lights and shone a shop light around and sure enough…fiberglass EVERYWHERE! Thankfully I hadn’t put it in the camper yet. Threw it away, cleaned like a madman and ended up just putting the Zinus gel topper on the stock mattress and it was great. We ended up putting that topper on our Zinus in the house and buying a 4 inch Zinus for the popup (it was the biggest foam only mattress I could find before they move up to the covered ones with the fiberglass). The top closes better now but it’s not quite as comfy as the stock with topper.

We didn't have any fiberglass in our mattress. Our's is a 6" foam mattress. - ruclips.net/video/bPadbDxJ8Cc/видео.html

@@One2ManyHobbies that’s exactly what I had, and I didn’t think it had fiberglass either. But that thin fabric you cut with scissors has tiny fiberglass fibers woven all through it to meet fire retardant requirements. I wasn’t able to see the little fibers until I turned off the light and shined a light on the scissors and surfaces I was working on. Really all you could see was a glitter-like sheen. Google fiberglass mattress lawsuit or something. Hope you’re all good, but I had the same mattress and wasn’t. Didn’t want my family breathing that stuff.
