  • We took our dogs on a two day Pop-up camping adventure, with a view of Hawk mountain in Pennsylvania. We had some pretty good THUNDERSTORMS with VERY HEAVY RAIN! Things almost went out of control at one point! We managed to survive the STORMS! We also cooked up some great food and had an excellent time. I hope you enjoy the video, and don't forget to LIKE and SUBSCRIBE if you did. Thank you for coming along!!
    If you would like to buy Sierra or Gunnar a treat or me a coffee, you can do it at this link. All donations will go directly to the channel. Thank you so much!!

    Maybe you should buy a socalled 'helping-hand'! That's a extendable pole, that builders use to put plasterboard to the ceiling while nailing it. You can use it to support the middle of the canopy! When that's high enough, you won't collect so much water😊

      @richardbas2948 That's a great idea, thank you bud!

    If you put hula hoops in the corners, that helps keep the water from puddling up on the canvas. I used to do that when I used one of those for craft shows and never had the canvas collapse.

    • @gunnar606

      That sounds like a great idea too, I may try that. Thank you!!

    What a rain storm! If you lower one of the poles, the rain will drain off. Cute doggies! I miss the popup camping days!

      If you didn't want to lower the corner of the canopy you could have always undo the corner of the cover and let it hang while it rained. I live in South Florida this looks like at least one camping trip Everytime I go. Lol.

    I've been using these canopies for years in lots of different weather conditions. One thing that helps the rain from blowing in is the light weight screens you can get that just hang from the sides. Work pretty good. Tony would definitely have said it was grim and also would have added that it "is chucking down'. Love the doggos, they're beautiful.

    • @gunnar606
      @gunnar606  Год назад +2

      Lol, he definitely would have said "chucking down"! We do have 4 walls for the canopy, but not the screens. That might be a good investment 👌 Thank you for watching and commenting!!

    Put a large straight stick in center of the canopy to prop it up higher than the sides and water will run off.

      Honestly, I just didn't think of it...lol. I'm better prepared now. I did a camp in a dog corral a bit ago and when I woke up in the morning the canopy was collapsed from rain. Thought I was going to have to throw it away, the top just wouldn't stay up anymore. BUT, I recently just came up with a fix for it...and now it is rock solid and better then new! Take care!

    This may be a mean thing to do but I was a extremely curious kid my parents had a pop up camper they told me not to touch the canvass it would cause a leak so when it started to rain one night you kn ow what I did I touched the canvas I tried it again and again no leak I think they lied to m e for a joke my parents had a sense of humor especially my dad he could tell you a made up tale and keep a straight face I loved him I learned how to do 8t and played many tricks on people just fun things they raised me right
