Listen to what? The guard that is ignoring the two signs right next to him, and allowing the tourists to molest his horse? He, first of all, is not upholding the "rule", and second, he is allowing the tourists to break the "rule" right alongside him!
They don't want them to stop petting the horses. This sign is for lawsuits. Before they put these signs up, more people were being bit and thrown, some more serious. The last was the Academy Award winner, who was bit slightly and fainted. I guess since she was overwhelmed that a petting zoo horse bit her, she could sue because she fainted. They did have to pay her something. Then they Changed the sign to don't touch the horse. Then the picture sign. People still touched because the trooper wasn't told about the sign. Why not?? The people got mad but our disguste doesn't matter. We yell at our phones and say we won't watch but who does that hurt? Not them, 10 more people will start to watch, 1 goes and they gain 10 more. Then you say they have cameras and are watching the mauling and grabbing and do nothing. Then some enforce the sign and it's beautiful to see. But next troopers up let people touch. So we again say tell them no, and they WILL stop because it's just a game to them. So since more people were being bit, the signs were only put up for thoes who break the rules and get bit. They can say "Well the don't touch signs were right there" and they chose to touch! Draw back is most of these troopers say yes, when asked, and the sign is right there, if that's a rule then why are you asking, then you have "Well he said I could touch him" now they have permission 😉 So it will backfire one day if they don't stop catering to the disrespectful tourist. This is a British army, Barrick, take it back.

They give signals, and people still stand up there, sticking their fingers in the mouth or pawing the face for minutes at a time, and nothing is done so they get bit and the game is over, and everyone gasps. Having a picture taken with a 1100 pound horse who is not a petting zoo horse and unpredictable would be "AT YOUR OWN RISK." it's sad, but it will continue, but now they can fight as long as the trooper doesn't give permission.

Someone got bit recently because she was holding the horse under the neck while petting the horses mouth while leaning on the horse. I have always enjoyed learning about the British army and respect them.
Funny how the same critics went on about people touching the horses but are now bleating on about OUR soldiers. Leave them alone and take your ignorant opinions with you. Candidly, I doubt if 99% of them would have the guts to serve.
I don't see why the Guards should be expected to tell people not to touch the horse when there is perfectly easy to understand signage. People used to say they should have a sign saying 'do not touch the reins' they did that but many ignored it. Then they changed it to 'do not touch the horse' and still many ignored it. Comments made that maybe they don't understand English despite the fact they could get a translation using their phone. So a pictorial sign was put in place and still many ignore it. I've seen videos where people are standing right beside the signs and actually still ask the Guard 'can I touch the horse'. Even hitting them over the head with a sign would not make a bit of difference to some people.
Guards should shout at the tourists. Do not touch the horse.They have to enforce the signs.
As long as social media shows people they'll continue. Arrest and fines are the only way.
