Development
After director Eli Roth created the fake movie trailer, Thanksgiving, for the film Grindhouse (2007), plans for a feature-length adaptation began. In 2010, Roth told CinemaBlend that he was writing the script with Jeff Rendell and that he hoped to complete it once he was done with press for The Last Exorcism (2010). By August 2012, Jon Watts and Christopher D. Ford were set to write the screenplay with Roth and Rendell after they finished writing the Roth-produced Clown (2014). In June 2016, Roth revealed on Reddit that the script still needed work in order for the film to live up to the trailer. In February 2019, reports indicated that Roth was slated to direct an undisclosed horror film for Miramax the next month in Boston, Massachusetts. Bloody Disgusting speculated that the film could potentially be Thanksgiving but was unable to verify.
In January 2023, Deadline Hollywood reported that Spyglass Media Group was producing the film. Roth would depart from Borderlands (2024), passing additional photography off to Tim Miller, in order to direct the film.
Casting
In February 2023, Patrick Dempsey was cast in the film while Addison Rae was cast in the lead role later that same month.[10][11] Jalen Thomas Brooks, Nell Verlaque and Milo Manheim were cast in undisclosed roles. In March 2023, Rick Hoffman, Gina Gershon, Tim Dillon, Gabriel Davenport, Tomaso Sanelli and Jenna Warren joined the cast.
Filming
Principal photography took place in Toronto and Hamilton, Ontario, from March 13 to May 5, 2023.
Release

It wasn't mud on his boots it was from flowers and he didn't have time to change them, he had Bobby unconscious in the trunk parked near John carvers house and after the lead escapes over the fence he took off to get back to the factory to place him in position to kill him but upon opening the trunk Bobby cracked him with a tire iron and headed inside the factory and that's when the final girl arrives to find the sheriff.
Great job
thanks!
Great video!
thank you!
The movie was good i just wished they had more chase scenes
This film Thanksgiving is a fine mixture of Halloween, Mute Witness, Happy Birthday to Me, Out Of The Dark, Scream, The Prowler and I Know What You Did Last Summer.

I knew something was going on with Patrick Dempsey character when Gina Gershon said to him you won't be single for very long while smiling and I was like ooh they screwing each other they were just way too friendly to each other even as supposed friends plus ain't no way character the Sheriff played by Mcdreamy himself Patrick Dempsey was single no way 😂😂, the only thing that surprised me wad that Gina Gershon character was pregnant that was shocked me
Well that's just classic horror movie revenge isn't it? I had the same thought. They were the the only two who looked like they just went on a morning show where they gave makeovers to recently singled 50s hahaha. Of course they're plowing more than just snow together. Regardless, i think they buried his stuff early enough in the story to keep us off the trail for the most part. I knew the second the gun shots were happening off screen.
Well damn. I'm too scary to watch the movie. But that's the twist I didn't see coming. But I peeped that long look she gave him in the foyer. I was like hmmm mmmmm. Ok Gina I see you. I know it's sad I'm trying to piece together a movie thru RUclips clips. But my eyes don't know this shot is fake. I have to tell myself it is. But the anxiety I get during these is off the charts. It could make for a movie all by itself.
Also there was a line at the start where Patrick Dempsey's character said "I know my way around an oven", clearly foreshadowing when he bakes the wife of the store owner later on. This is one that I think will get better on multiple viewings with lots of little hints and Easter eggs dropped in by Roth.
It was obvious to me when he had the bloody burnscar on his face when Jessica found him. He had taken off his hat, placed it on top of the oven, it melted and then he put it back on his face.
Solid flick, Eli captured the grotesque nature of consumerism in the opening scene. I knew it was the sheriff when the clown threw that stun grenade at the parade , not gonna lie , I was at first thinking it was that nerd kid with the shades . Lol
Title for the sequel
Thanksgiving leftovers
You keep dunking on other films as often as a guy claiming to be "over" his ex yet still name-dropping them. You okay? 🥴🙃
Anyone who couldn’t figure out who the killer was by the trailer is out of it.
"We needed a good laugh in theaters"
Clearly, you didn't see Jackass Forever, XD
I saw that too
I gotta say I enjoyed this and going to see it a second time tomorrow! 🤎 the ending had a My Bloody Valentine 3D go to it!
