  • The powerplant used in this Ford Territory is a 2.7 Lt, turbocharged, direct injection diesel engine marketed as a ‘Duratorq’. The V6 is used across many vehicles, from the Citroen C5 and C6, to the Land Rover Discovery, Range Rover as well as multiple cars in the Jaguar range.
    In this video, we replace the fuel filter - a simple job.
    But be warned, there are several things you should be aware of, as well as testing you should do before you replace the filter, to ensure the engine starts easily after the filter replacement.

    Thanks heaps for the video!. I have replaced the low pressure pump about 6 months ago and it drove fine since , however yesterday I replaced the fuel filter and primed it and got it running. but ever since it now takes several attempts of cranking to start . sometimes once or twice and other times 4 or 5 times, even if I turn it off and then back on again! its doing my head in! would you have any suggestions pretty please?

      @@MiracleMAX Thank you for this brilliant demonstration.
      NOTE: after conducting all the precautionary tests, correctly fitting the new filter and priming the system. My Territory stalled after a few seconds, and failed to start after dozens of attempts. Adamant that I succumb to the fuel pump issue's mentioned, I decided to remove the hi-pressure fuel line (middle-green) and prime the system, purging diesel through the filter nipple. After refitting the fuel line, it managed to start on the very next attempt. THIS MAY SAVE $$$ REPLACING A FUEL PUMP

    Hi mate. I have a ford territory sz diesel and was wondering where the radiator filler is. I can't locate it. Only the resovoir.

    • @MiracleMAX
      @MiracleMAX  10 месяцев назад

      This system uses an expansion tank and not an overflow bottle. There is no cap on the radiator.
      Therefore the cap that you see on the expansion tank is how you fill the cooling system. If you look on the side of the expansion tank you should see a cold and hot level to fill to.

      Hey Muhammad Saad ,
      What is the fault code related to the description?
      Did you test the fuel pump like shown in the video before the filter was replaced?
      Is the engine starting & running OK?
      Did you reconnect the water level sensor on the bottom of the filter?

      I don’t know the fault code number because i don’t have scanner. 2nd i also installed fuel pump also. Than change fuel filter.
      Car start & runner perfectly but error coming on dash screen “fuel system fault”. How to remove this fault? Please advice

    • @MiracleMAX
      @MiracleMAX  3 года назад +1

      @@muhammadsaad6953 You will firstly need to figure out why the error has come up. As I said, did you reconnect the water level sensor? Have you rechecked all your connections on the fuel pump. Some vehicles need to clear a fault code before all systems start working again - for example the fuel gauge.
      You may need a scan tool to see what the error is indicating.

    • @MiracleMAX
      @MiracleMAX  3 года назад +1

      @@muhammadsaad6953 Difficult to say what scanner to buy. You could try something like a Launch Creader or something similar. It all depends on how much money you are willing to spend and what you want the scan tool to do.
      There are a lot of reasonable scan tools out there that will do basic fault code readings, with capabilities to clear codes and supply live data as well. Perhaps go online and read some reviews. Try 'basic automotive scan tool australia' (if you are in Australia) in the search engine and then hit the 'shopping' tab. Make sure that the software is designed for your vehicle. They should provide a list of vehicles.

      Hey Magyar Bluey,
      There is no need for a special tool - you can just remove the lines as shown in the video. Simply press the coloured 'button' and the locking mechanism will release. Then just pull up on the line and it will disconnect from the filter.

      From what I understand, the petrol version are just a flare nut that you undo with spanners. Most likely a Z373 in the Ryco brand. Make sure you check with the parts supplier for the correct application.
