Thanks for the vid mate, after self diagnosing my fuel pump needing replacement the mechanic i took it to must have forgotten the green O-ring or binned it, after $800 in "repairs" every time I fill my tank to full it leaks diesel. I'm also getting no fuel gauge reading anymore so he's either munted the float or didnt install it properly so off to another mechanic that isn't screwing me around to make sure the O-ring is actually installed and float is working. This vid helped me understand the new issues i've got since their service on it cheers.

Thanks mate, very helpful….. about to do mine before it stuffs up, I’m big on preventative maintenance & don’t want to be doing this on the side of a road in the middle of nowhere (I’m doing a lap of Oz soon & replacing everything that I know will give me grief sooner or later, $3k and counting so far, but worth it…… ‘05 SX, 155k k’s, bound to give me trouble if I don’t get ahead of it 👍)
BTW those hose clamp tools are cheap at auto spares shops, about $8 at Repco 😊

Just the info I needed, now I know I don’t want to do it myself!
Why no inspection plate under the seat like most cars Ford??

Thanks. Very helpful. Signs of a diesel leak from mine. Prospect of dropping tank just to see what the problem is. Pita

won't be too bad if you have an empty tank, mine was near full

while you have the tank out you can do the diff support bushes (other side need to take off muffler) - cut the fkrs out and bolt in new ones. no need to drop cradle in territory.. rear centre diff bush same deal, can access from spare wheel cavity

Just changed my territory diesel pump today. The tank and pump comes off the same way. Did it on the ground without a hoist. Body is a bit sore now. Jack the car up as high as you can with stands, it will make it a lot easier. I didn’t remove the muffler, I worked from the passenger side and removed the rear tyre for extra room. Used a GOSS GE515 from Repco. They price matched Sparesbox online store so I got it for just under $200. This video is great and saved me a lot of time and headaches.

could be Fuel pressure regulator, bad fuel pressure sensor, fuel pump could be on its way out or could be that the fuel filter is simply blocked.

    Estimated time to complete?

At home, it would have to be 6 - 8 hrs wouldn't it?
Allow at least 1 - 2 hours to get the car set up high enough first. Use inflated wheels and tyres to sit the car on if on a non concrete floor, then remove the spare and remove the muffler. Get the gaskets for the muffler flanges and crack the bolts off before you proceed in case they break or something. Use WD-40 on the muffler bolts and let it soak.
I'd do it over 2 or even 3 days. The reason I say this is this stuff irritates me. I can do one part on one day and after I'm annoyed then leave it till the next day. I'm a mechanic turned to driving trucks because I hate (with a capital H) this stuff. I get so pissed off with working on mechanical things that I always plan this stuff in bite sized chunks, as an anger management technique if nothing else.
