You and your photographer are hilarious, AND very instructional. If I invited you once, I'll invite you a hundred times more to visit us in California...but, not sure why you'd leave your PARADISE! You are, without a doubt, the very BEST wood turner on this network. Keep uploading your videos...PLEASE.
Nice tip but i did on the shuck also when it turn😉 For this live the tail sock at the end of the bench take the long to the lip of the shuck and the nearest edge of the tail sock, then cut a rod at this leng. Glue the first ten cm on top of the tail sock which the zero start on the edge. To know how deep the botom is, tucht he the bottom of the bowl with one end off the rod and read the result value on the part of the meter glue on the tail sock. Pay attention whith value differ whith the type of jaws on the shuck. Put a reference on the bench in accordence whith the jaws used
Making a hole in the bottom : been there done that. Building the tool : been there done that but not as nice. Wearing my cross somebody beat me to that.

Sweet! I’ve made one of those depth gauges but never used it like that. A “ah ha” moment.
Great idea. I hate it when I turn the bottom of the bowl too thin and become a member of the "funnel" club.
