Shelves are nice. Yes to removing the small basket on the shelf you thought looked overcrowded. If you like alot of color, keep the books as they are. If you like a more monochromatic look you could take the dust covers off. Would look nice either way.

I love your bookshelves! Pump the gas! Once you do it, you'll see what a waste of time it is, to have it pumped for you. I forgot Oregon had that law. We were there years ago and were surprised by it. You can't pump your own in NJ, our neighboring state. I lose stuff in our freezers all the time, even though they start of organized. I just tossed a bunch of stuff recently and it really upset me as things are so expensive. Elin Hildebrand is from the town I currently reside (according to our zip code)! I used to enjoy her books. The last couple of her books, not so much so I think I'm done with her. We replaced our 20 sofa in December and love our new recliner sofa with USB ports. I can enjoy the sofa without seriously hurting my back. Your new furniture looks great. Enjoy your weekend!
