For me MW2 will probably always be #1 because of all the stuff that was added to the multiplayer and it was the peak of partying up with my friends, but Black Ops2 might be what I consider the most nostalgic for me. Being able to troll and do the worm squirm (shoutout to Blackxworm, if you know you know) was so much fun. the falloff for me personally and my friend group happened right after with Ghosts.
I loved COD WW2 I played from 2017-all the way through covid lockdown. The war gamemode kept me into the game so much! Plus the campaign was gritty af and honestly I loved it. RIP Turner.

It's damn near my favorite. The audio and visuals are so good and the weapons are all so fun. The maps were solid and the customizable streaks were really unique and fun to use. The pick 13 system is still my favorite system of them all and the ability to hop into the range from the create a class section was genius. The survival and zombies were done well too. I love AW
The vibe u got from the maps, gameplay, the lobbies, and the community at the time were incredible I’ve yet to experience anything that rivaled the feeling bo2 gave when u loaded it up. Miss it all the time.

7:35 Blackout was actually F2P sometime in 2019 on Playstation Plus only, and only for around a week. I played it back then, and the lobbies were PACKED. I'm 100% sure Blackout would have been insanely popular if it was F2P.

I know they wouldn't beat anything but I still wish the first three Call of Duty games before COD4 would be included, just to make this tier list feel more complete. I personally would play those three Call of Duty games way more than anything we have today.

MW3 being #5 made me a little sad. To this day, I feel it is the most underrated COD. Specialist mode, man, those were some amazing times that I will never forget.
Me personally I loved Cold War so much. High rounding with my dad in lockdown in the zombies (my dad loves Cold War as well) I loved the campaign so much. The multiplayer was so fun and arcadey the way a game should be. I played Warzone at it’s prime but Cold War just hits different maybe it’s playing with my dad maybe it’s the game. I’ll never know.

But I will say I thought Tranzit was still fun to play with friends but couldn't be executed as well as treyarch wanted because of the console technology at the time. The fog and lava were specifically created to slow players down to help the map perform better on the Xbox and PlayStations

Let’s be real, the people who hated on bo4 also loved MW2019. And the correlation was that these were typically noobs, Bo4 probably had the highest skill gap of any cod to date, and MW2019 was built from the ground up to support noobs. I personally think MW2019 is the worst cod ever made because it was truly the start of everything we all hate in cod to this date - SBMM, no map voting, Doors, safe spaces, no dead silence, loud footsteps, no DLC season, no prestige system, no pick 10 create a class, store bundles, WZ taking priority over multiplayer, bad maps, battle passes, bad kill streaks, disbanding lobbies etc
I'd give a lot to have all the previous zombies maps remade with the cold war engine. Or just use that as the base for future releases, updating it for each game
This list is basically perfect. There might be some disagreement on how bad the bottom half of games actually were, but they all deserve to be there. I think it says something though when all of Sledgehammer's games are at the bottom and Treyarch's worst game is middle of the pack.
It’s still crazy to think that black ops 2 had sooo many endings depending on if you finished the strikeforce missions and the decisions you made (killing/saving Harper, rescuing Karma, killing or wounding Mason, what you did with Briggs, and if you decided to kill Menendez or not)
For me it was mw2. All the guns were memorable and satisfying. First to introduce nukes which was, in the beginning a definitive proof you were way above average. Highly memorable missions. Did i already mention extremely delicious juicy thick….. guns. I definitely played this one the most out of every COD. Black ops 1 was ruined for me because of the complete gutting of quickscoping. Then i found a trick with the variable scope to make it a little faster but then they patched that -_-
Here's some history of mine that you didn't ask for. Black Ops 3 is my most played (and favorite) Call of Duty game, secondmost being MW2019. It has had the most influence on my perception of CoD (hell, maybe even video games as a whole). I used to play Multiplayer and Zombies with friends both old and new. Unlocking DLC weapons and prestiging in Multiplayer was always hype, and high-rounding with friends in Zombies was always very fun. I would even splurge into the misc modes (Nightmares, Freerun, Dead Ops Arcade 2) for no reason other than the modes not being in the mainstream trinity, and all three were a blast. I'm jealous that I wasn't old enough to really experience the golden age of CoD, but I'll always remember BO3 as the game that really hooked me into the series.
having infinite warfare above ww2 is absolutely wild, the ww2 campaign is maybe top 5 or 6th oat, and the multiplayer was surprisingly entertaining and consistent and sledgehammer never added stupid stuff they kept mp the same with just added dlc which is why it gets so much hate bc of the lack of creativity out towards it, but compared to infinite warfare, you gotta be kidding me

Never played any COD as a kid, as I got older though, I bought BO3, BO2, IW, WW2 and various others. BO3 by far has been my all time favorite followed by IW. I mainly play zombies and thought these two had the best zombies. BO2 was good, but it wasn’t what I was looking for. WW2 had been my least favorite to date. BO4 zombies was also decent, but it would never be my first choice, even though the Easter Eggs are really fun
I don't get how everyone likes BO3 with all the sliding and flying around? It's not like any other COD and it just feels absurdly unrealistic. Can you explaing what's good about it apart from zombies?

It was a good take on the futuristic mechanics with only having limited in air time and the wall running was balanced. Most guns were fun and fair and the specialists are an underrated topic. But personally, when Bo3 is the one Cod constantly gaining new players. It speaks for itself.
You could earn the good advanced warfare weapon variants without paying, it just took a longer time to get the supply drops in game, but saying that it wasn’t possible is simply not true.
Mw22 way too high The weight the community puts on the campaign pisses me off. It's 15% of a CoD game MAX. Most of the community plays it once and never comes back. MP and the third mode is what makes the game more fun.
Heres a hot take: If a nowadays CoD came out with a game that was exactly like COD4 (only 3 killstreaks, unbalanced guns as the MP5 and M16 were WAY better than everything else, overpowered frag x3, and overall just not alot to do as far as challenges and what not) it would be considered worse than garbage. But because it came out in 2007 everyone is blinded by nostolgia.
Honestly I disagree! If it came out as exactly the same product, I think people would still like it. The map design is far better than infinity wards latest CODs and there is no heavy SBMM and we have forced game chat in SnD lobbies. I don’t think it would be as beloved as it is now, but people would still like it overall even with the BS

The top 3 are quite fitting and seeing the top 6 just be Modern Warfare and black ops shows how good the old days were. My only issue was AW should have been at least number 7 or 8. I thought that was a phenomenal campaign, top 3 for me personally with mw2 and black ops 1.
AW was super innovative, WW2 was refreshing and MWIII is actually fun (each season gets better and better). SHG doesn’t get the credit they deserve at all. I hope they finally get to do AW2.
I'm all for hating the newer cods, especially being someone who played since CoD 2 but MW2019 placing so low is outrageous. Not perfect of course but weapon customization and variation along with gunplay, mechanics etc. were great compared to previous years. It honestly helped me get back into caring about the series.

MW2 is the real number one. High Rise, Terminal, Favela, Run Down, Sub Base, Derailed, Carnival, it had such great maps. And the white building had a skylight that you could throw grenades through in case a camper got his way to the top.
I think BO4 has shown from the polls that it isn’t as hated as we thought it was! Some people have a burning passion for hating it and just like to be loud I guess 😂 The loudest people aren’t right a lot of the time! BO4 was the last true Call of duty before they started changing up how they games play/work

I really hope we get back to the Vietnam setting. You know the Pave Low, Harrier Strike (Harrier GR. 1), AC-130, EMP System (Starfish Prime), and even Tactical Nuke were exist during the Vietnam War? Plus Night Vision Goggles, Singlepoint Sight (Predecessor to the Red Dot Sight), W1200, M40, G3, R700, M21 (with Ghillie camouflage and Green Painted and suppressor), and People Sniffers (which could be used as Heartbeat Sensor). If there’s weapons that I would love to see it’s the Balashinkov assault rifle, Commando, and the AR-18. The Balashnikov is the prototype version of the Galil (which isn’t appropriate for BO1 as it was made in 1972. Most BO1 weapons are from the 70’s and 80’s).
The GR.1 was never used in the Vietnam War, and the AC-47 generally saw more action than AC-130. Most the weapons used in the Vietnam War were a combination of then-modern ones (i.e the M16, M14, AKM, Type 56, MAS-49, etc) and like WW2/earlier weapons like the M1 Garand, MP40, Mosin-Nagant, SKS, PPSH, DP28, Grease Gun, etc), so there probably wouldn't be G3s, AR-18s, or whatever AK-clone the Israelis came up with.

A realistic warfare is something that Infinity Ward would do, but I rather have Treyarch to handle with weapons that are appropriate for the time era even though they weren’t used in the war.
I agree, I think it may have been the most well-designed CoD to date as far as graphics/animation/movement go. I also think the guns felt the best, or at least the most "real". The maps were mostly ass and the SBMM hit like a truck (also no prestige system which is always gay), but the campaign was great and the additions of ground war and gun game was awesome!
Tbh I didn't like it when it came out, I thought the specialists were annoying and goofy. But it was truly the last classic CoD experience before MW19 came out and completely flipped CoD on it's head.
Imo the mw19 ranking is bs I rarely saw campers because everyone was slide cancelling their asses off and the campaign is levels above most of the games on this list, the spec ops was insanely difficult at launch but was made so much better later on, idk how people can complain about maps when no matter what you do people will camp but they’ll be more critical about the newer games. Plus the nostalgia is insane the older games aren’t these godsends like people are trying to make them out to be they aren’t bad by any means but compared to the newer games they beat them in most categories people just have followed the popular opinion.

Let’s be real, the people who hated on bo4 also loved MW2019. And the correlation was that these were typically noobs, Bo4 probably had the highest skill gap of any cod to date, and MW2019 was built from the ground up to support noobs. I personally think MW2019 is the worst cod ever made because it was truly the start of everything we all hate in cod to this date
- SBMM, no map voting, Doors, safe spaces, no dead silence, loud footsteps, no DLC season, no prestige system, no pick 10 create a class, store bundles, WZ taking priority over multiplayer, bad maps, battle passes, bad kill streaks, disbanding lobbies etc
I'd give a lot to have all the previous zombies maps remade with the cold war engine.
Or just use that as the base for future releases, updating it for each game

This list is basically perfect. There might be some disagreement on how bad the bottom half of games actually were, but they all deserve to be there. I think it says something though when all of Sledgehammer's games are at the bottom and Treyarch's worst game is middle of the pack.
It’s still crazy to think that black ops 2 had sooo many endings depending on if you finished the strikeforce missions and the decisions you made (killing/saving Harper, rescuing Karma, killing or wounding Mason, what you did with Briggs, and if you decided to kill Menendez or not)
For me it was mw2. All the guns were memorable and satisfying. First to introduce nukes which was, in the beginning a definitive proof you were way above average.
Highly memorable missions. Did i already mention extremely delicious juicy thick….. guns.
I definitely played this one the most out of every COD.
Black ops 1 was ruined for me because of the complete gutting of quickscoping. Then i found a trick with the variable scope to make it a little faster but then they patched that -_-
When it comes to MW22 I think you’re right about the old warzone being better but I genuinely think that it’s campaign was more fun than 2019

Black Ops 3 is my most played (and favorite) Call of Duty game, secondmost being MW2019. It has had the most influence on my perception of CoD (hell, maybe even video games as a whole).
I used to play Multiplayer and Zombies with friends both old and new. Unlocking DLC weapons and prestiging in Multiplayer was always hype, and high-rounding with friends in Zombies was always very fun. I would even splurge into the misc modes (Nightmares, Freerun, Dead Ops Arcade 2) for no reason other than the modes not being in the mainstream trinity, and all three were a blast.
I'm jealous that I wasn't old enough to really experience the golden age of CoD, but I'll always remember BO3 as the game that really hooked me into the series.

having infinite warfare above ww2 is absolutely wild, the ww2 campaign is maybe top 5 or 6th oat, and the multiplayer was surprisingly entertaining and consistent and sledgehammer never added stupid stuff they kept mp the same with just added dlc which is why it gets so much hate bc of the lack of creativity out towards it, but compared to infinite warfare, you gotta be kidding me

Never played any COD as a kid, as I got older though, I bought BO3, BO2, IW, WW2 and various others. BO3 by far has been my all time favorite followed by IW. I mainly play zombies and thought these two had the best zombies. BO2 was good, but it wasn’t what I was looking for. WW2 had been my least favorite to date. BO4 zombies was also decent, but it would never be my first choice, even though the Easter Eggs are really fun
I don't get how everyone likes BO3 with all the sliding and flying around? It's not like any other COD and it just feels absurdly unrealistic. Can you explaing what's good about it apart from zombies?
@@RaveAndMortyzombies actually hard carried Bo3 in my opinion, Campaign is trash, but Multiplayer was overhated simply cause it was not boots on ground. It was a good take on the futuristic mechanics with only having limited in air time and the wall running was balanced. Most guns were fun and fair and the specialists are an underrated topic. But personally, when Bo3 is the one Cod constantly gaining new players. It speaks for itself.
You could earn the good advanced warfare weapon variants without paying, it just took a longer time to get the supply drops in game, but saying that it wasn’t possible is simply not true.

The weight the community puts on the campaign pisses me off. It's 15% of a CoD game MAX. Most of the community plays it once and never comes back. MP and the third mode is what makes the game more fun.

Heres a hot take: If a nowadays CoD came out with a game that was exactly like COD4 (only 3 killstreaks, unbalanced guns as the MP5 and M16 were WAY better than everything else, overpowered frag x3, and overall just not alot to do as far as challenges and what not) it would be considered worse than garbage. But because it came out in 2007 everyone is blinded by nostolgia.
Honestly I disagree! If it came out as exactly the same product, I think people would still like it. The map design is far better than infinity wards latest CODs and there is no heavy SBMM and we have forced game chat in SnD lobbies. I don’t think it would be as beloved as it is now, but people would still like it overall even with the BS

The top 3 are quite fitting and seeing the top 6 just be Modern Warfare and black ops shows how good the old days were. My only issue was AW should have been at least number 7 or 8. I thought that was a phenomenal campaign, top 3 for me personally with mw2 and black ops 1.

I'm all for hating the newer cods, especially being someone who played since CoD 2 but MW2019 placing so low is outrageous. Not perfect of course but weapon customization and variation along with gunplay, mechanics etc. were great compared to previous years. It honestly helped me get back into caring about the series.
Mw2019 is shit. None of those things matter when there's shitty maps with safe spaces that support camping way too much. Gameplay way too slow paced and boring. No prestige etc

MW2 is the real number one. High Rise, Terminal, Favela, Run Down, Sub Base, Derailed, Carnival, it had such great maps.
And the white building had a skylight that you could throw grenades through in case a camper got his way to the top.

it was a catalyst to bring all the better games later on like modern warfare and black ops. Doesn’t get the love it deserves but def helps other games to make them masterpiece along with WAW

I really hope we get back to the Vietnam setting. You know the Pave Low, Harrier Strike (Harrier GR. 1), AC-130, EMP System (Starfish Prime), and even Tactical Nuke were exist during the Vietnam War? Plus Night Vision Goggles, Singlepoint Sight (Predecessor to the Red Dot Sight), W1200, M40, G3, R700, M21 (with Ghillie camouflage and Green Painted and suppressor), and People Sniffers (which could be used as Heartbeat Sensor). If there’s weapons that I would love to see it’s the Balashinkov assault rifle, Commando, and the AR-18. The Balashnikov is the prototype version of the Galil (which isn’t appropriate for BO1 as it was made in 1972. Most BO1 weapons are from the 70’s and 80’s).

The GR.1 was never used in the Vietnam War, and the AC-47 generally saw more action than AC-130. Most the weapons used in the Vietnam War were a combination of then-modern ones (i.e the M16, M14, AKM, Type 56, MAS-49, etc) and like WW2/earlier weapons like the M1 Garand, MP40, Mosin-Nagant, SKS, PPSH, DP28, Grease Gun, etc), so there probably wouldn't be G3s, AR-18s, or whatever AK-clone the Israelis came up with.

A realistic warfare is something that Infinity Ward would do, but I rather have Treyarch to handle with weapons that are appropriate for the time era even though they weren’t used in the war.

I agree, I think it may have been the most well-designed CoD to date as far as graphics/animation/movement go. I also think the guns felt the best, or at least the most "real". The maps were mostly ass and the SBMM hit like a truck (also no prestige system which is always gay), but the campaign was great and the additions of ground war and gun game was awesome!

Tbh I didn't like it when it came out, I thought the specialists were annoying and goofy. But it was truly the last classic CoD experience before MW19 came out and completely flipped CoD on it's head.
Imo the mw19 ranking is bs I rarely saw campers because everyone was slide cancelling their asses off and the campaign is levels above most of the games on this list, the spec ops was insanely difficult at launch but was made so much better later on, idk how people can complain about maps when no matter what you do people will camp but they’ll be more critical about the newer games. Plus the nostalgia is insane the older games aren’t these godsends like people are trying to make them out to be they aren’t bad by any means but compared to the newer games they beat them in most categories people just have followed the popular opinion.

Black Ops 2 was so good that I even played it over AW when it first came out two years later.
Games with a trilogy are supposed or least expected to one up the one previously but the community has spoken everything mid 2015 advanced movemened and so on just what it is and the Goats will always be the older titles.
