Ash looks like Ryo, the mom looks like someone Ryo would go for, and he buggered off without raising Ash, so either Ash's mom didn't tell him (because he's Ryo and she didn't want him around) or Ryo has terrible commitment issues. (This theory is my Goku vs Superman).
