man, thank you very much I have 3 days working on this problem on the driver's side the window did not work the mirrors did not work the door lock check the relay fuses and many other things and I see this video just touch that cable that you show in the video and everything worked correctly again, thank you very much for sharing these tips

Your video on the window problem help me to fix my problem with the drivers door. Verified that the left door module was ok by using a known good module after checking the fuses, and voltages called for, Found them to be good. Went to door and checked wiring and found the ground wire connector off and badly bent.
Replaces connector and connected to ground lug and every door function worked. Checked passenger door ground connection on its way to causing a problem. Repaired grond and all is well.

My window/lock/mirror switch quit on my 04 CE coupe and I read a lot of things on the internet and thought I needed a new control module but being cheap (economical) I kept looking at the internet until I found this and lo and behold it worked and that was my problem. And it was free, who doesn't love free. Thanks
Nothing wrong with frugal & the stealership probably would have just unplug/plugged it and for good measure charged you for a module they never put in, no offense to legit dealer service depts, there are some. :)
This video is a classic example of what I've learned over many years of troubleshooting: The root cause of a problem is usually simpler than we first imagine. Good work, Froggy!

@@1947froggy I replaced both door control modules as advised by an auto electric shop. Neither worked and then I found this post. Eureka, it worked, My man. Now I only have to get the online parts houses to accept these modules back. Thanks man.
After checking and swapping control modules from passenger to driver I confirmed that the control module and fuses worked. Jiggled the wires as you suggested and it started working again. Thanks again for posting.

As I understand it the blue box is for speakers and the black is for power to door.. i've cleaned the black box but still no power.. i'm going to try to clean blue box maybe that will work..
Thanks, a bunch, it worked. I knew that it had to be something along these lines because my power door lock also worked intermittently and stopped working simultaneously. The window goes up and down briskly, so it was not the power window motor brushes going bad.

My 2001 Corvette has been idle for well over a year as I was facing electrical gremlins related to a bad IPC. That was solved with a replacement unit. When everything was finally back together, the car was detailed. Yesterday took the car for a spin (finally) and the passenger window, door lock and mirror did not operate. Ran the codes and saw no communication on that door. Opened the door, and felt the connector through the rubber sheath and wiggled it. That was enough for the circuit to work again. I attribute this to one thing. Me--detailing the boot too vigorously. Be wary of this when cleaning the door jambs, hinges etc. It doesn't take much. Thanks froggy for the tip.
I would not blame yourself, almost all of those "disconnects" happen with zero detailing to the boot. :) Enjoy your awesome car! Froggy
@@1947froggy When I first attempted to raise the passenger window and nothing happened, I momentarily thought that window sure is clean. :) Then realized it wasn't up. Turned down the radio and no movement. Then I thought, hmm, did the regulator go? Then of course, checked the door lock and then the mirror and I knew it wasn't the regulator--which usually needs to be replaced at some point. Not this time. :)

I went thru three (3) modules before I checked the door plug.
Always try the easy stuff first.
Yea, mine not in the accordion boot , I have to take my door panel off ......that I can NEVER get back on correctly.

I’m working on this prob on the driver side door.. trying to find someone pulling the wires out, not sure if they’re long enough to get the connector out to inspect. I’ve fixed this prob on the passenger side long ago and the wires on that door maybe are longer, I don’t remember it being a problem to get the connector out.

@@papagigo1 I actually still have not fixed it.. I haven't really tried in a long time..
the problem is I can't reach the connector.. on the passenger door I just pulled on the wire and it came right out, drivers door seems to be wired different and I don't want to pull too hard to break it..
I will probably try again in a few days or so.. If I make any progress i'll post here..

Could this be the reason my car is doing the “reduced power”? Whenever it does it, my window coincidentally isn’t working

Did you get a reduced engine light and also abs light with no gauges working? I had this happen to my passenger side door, and all the lights on the dash. I wiggles the rubber and it went away???
I do not recall that I had those lights, also mine was the pass side. It does not seem likely wires for engine & abs go thru a door conn.
@@1947froggy as much as I have been reading, there is another connector in the same area, it's a 6 wire connector and one of those wires is a serial bus wire. It also has loose pins like u showed in the blue connector, however I believe the other connector is black.
Same thing happened to me and I touched the rubber and power came back. Did the problem come back for you ?

Hi good morning froggy Love your show So glad you have it. I have a C5 ZO6 both doors windows making noise on the going up halfway with the windows Both switches passenger and drivers side make that noise when the window is going up and down . The problem started the same day same time . Love your information or input Thank you. what could it be
I was soo hoping for this to be my fix. My issue is instead on the drivers door. I did exactly what you did pulled it out from the wire brace and then wiggled it to see if the door would come back to life. No luck. Then I pulled out the male and female connectors from each other cleaned them and then connected them back but still no luck. I have also changed out the DCM on the driver side but still nothing. I’m stumped!
I would keep checking wire connections and look for wire shorts, post what u find.

There’s a blue connector and a black connector in that area. I’ve seen other videos showing the black plug as the problem for the DCM. Can you clarify this for me. Thanks Froggy
Mine was blue/green ish. Just service them both if you are not sure. :)

@@juanchavez5747 cleaning the connector helped and it’s the black one not the blue one. But there are 2 grounds near those harnesses that look like all the other ground boxes on the car , not much room but I cleaned the ground box and the surface and I haven’t had a problem in about 6 months now
I have a 04' c-5 with a door ajar issue. also sometimes the headlights will come on by themselves and i have to kill the car and restart to turn them off. any clue what this is?

@@roymorris710 Look at that conn. Roy . Take apart, clean good as shown, reassemble.
I literally touched the rubber to expose the wires and I got every service light in the book service shocks reduced engine power service active handling
That sounds unusual, body control module and engine control module being different, but who knows. I'd clean & carefully inspect for bent/spread connections & plug it back in & see.

Any ideas of my problem : sometime my fob don’t unlock or lock the car and conséquence when I open it manually I can go down or raise my windows (both side)
The lock/unlock button on driver and passenger door panel work
But windows don’t work even on door and passenger button
When it happen My fob only open the trunk and turn off/on alarm when I press lock unlock button
Any ideas ?
That's a lot, but it sounds like the fob is a problem, try a different (spare) or new fob.
Thank you for answer this week I will try with a friend with its fob.
Today I resolder antenna of receiver ! Now I can turn off alarm easily and far of the car !! But nothing better concerning initial issue
Another info I check code and I have no communication with RDCM LDCM SCM
This time just before the issue I clean the interior fully maybe I have a problem with connector under one seat... ? I will also try that. Do you think can be the cause of this no communication with these 3 modules
