🔵 After he said to her "I never died before", the implication of what he meant must have really upset the robot profoundly, (just after 15:50),... after he left it sounded like she got digital-indigestion!
This was good. It is memorable. So few things in life are memorable. But this was thoughtful, and intelligent, and clever. Discussion of morality and philosophy, so interesting. And brilliantly acted, especially the character of Luna. The interrogation of the AI worked surprisingly well as a plot. This short will stay with me.
@@SkymaxVisuals I think what struck me most was the depth of compassion, of humanity, shown by the non-human towards her soon-to-be killer. Ironic though it was, it paled in comparison to the absolute lack of compassion, or any feeelings at all, really, he might have felt for her. His parting words to her about whether her death would be painful, showed a callous indifference to her or any fear she might have been experiencing. Rathe than offering a simple "no" to her question, he said, "I don't know." The only feeling shown at the end was his smile when he looked at her parting gift, a plant. Yes indeed. I admit it has been done before, however, I wrote and directed this film when I was nineteen years old and am very proud of it to this day.
Nice film. You got a sub here. Liked the story, and the acting was good. I guess maybe we need to define life a little better to any future a.i. that we create. Good premise for a sci-fi tv series.
When we get to that point we definitely need to implement that into their coding! I’m glad you enjoyed the film and thank you for the subscribe. The story certainly could be developed into a series...
Did anyone else get an I.Robot feel from his story... Sorry to say but it kinda felt that way... I'll watch again... I'm sure Asimov had more in his repertoire than just the three laws knowing that a robotic future is detrimental...
Good film though the pace was a little slow. The dialog in the beginning seemed to meander before getting to the point. Unless that is the technique for interrogating an android.😊
Thomas Collins I think it’s because Ray (the Detective) doesn’t like A.I and takes a while to get stuck in, nonetheless thank you for the feedback and taking the time to watch it. 😃
I'm sorry I seem to miss this one: nice production and all, but the story line is a little puzzling to me. But then, I don't have live plants in the loft.
Hi Russ, thanks for the comment! There are certainly a lot of elements in the story that’s for sure, however the plant is left partly to the interpretation of the viewer and how it affected the relationship between Orion (the older gentlemen) and Luna (the A.I). If you want specifics feel free to send us a message as we don’t want to post spoilers in the comments 😉 Have a great day and make sure you share the film! 🎬
We’ll I’m confused! A although not crazy about the prospect of AI being that girl, he was mad she killed, he decided she should be deactivated, yet he told her about his wife, he accepted her plant. Now why would he accept a gift from an AI he despises for not being human. I would’ve thought he’d reveal nothing about his wife as AI don’t feel anything, let alone accept a gift from one. So is his hatred for AI real or for show.
Well. She right. An thief or serial killer go into your house try to kill your family and can you standing there and say i cannot take life. Or an manipulator control entire your life all the time and you say you cannot take life. It is self defense. Our self defense laws system is so weak actually, have hundred of bug. The AI engineer guy is idiot, the first investigation question is some how i feel it stupid. Everything have cause and consequences
You certainly are correct Kira, there are flaws in the instructions and laws created by man. The detective could have narrowed it down a lot sooner too, yet his emotions and hatred towards A.I is yet another obstacle in helping him conclude the investigation. Humans are imperfect and those consequences are a result of those causes.
The plant is a gift as in the world of the film, greenery is a lot scarcer due to mankind’s destruction. So it’s the equivalent of receiving something like a piece of jewellery. Hope this answers your question 😊
"Ray" opening up to a 'droid is just ridiculous... His A.I. "hatred" mirrors Detective Spooner's in "I, Robot", when the robot decided to save him instead of the little girl Sarah... "Will it hurt?" - Sonny to Dr. Calvin, "I, Robot" So many rip-offs of "I, Robot". Did someone see the movie, and decide to cherry-pick things from it?
Detective "Ray Light"? You gotta' be kidding me... There's a difference between an android and "regular" A.I. A.I. is not necessarily ambulatory, so, "Killed by A.I." is not technically correct...
"I DID NOT MURDER HIM!" - "Sonny", "I, Robot"... ;-P "My logic is irrefutable..." - VIKI, "I, Robot"... To save humanity, some humans must be sacrificed... nice rip-off...

Hello Lorraine. I don't think that shot was intended to objectify, strange that you noticed that actually. I think it was just a coincidence. Thanks for watching 2:49 of our film nonetheless!
ha. I had to rewatch it about 5 times to catch it. what an odd coincidence to center the shot right there... Like no one caught that? no one said, "Hey, maybe we should shoot a face profile or something else?"
@@p0rnany0ne I don't think I worded my reply very well. Lorraine thought the position of the shot was to objectify Luna, but it's purpose was to not show her face until Ray (the detective) sat down. It was to build suspense and a little anticipation. It wasn't intended to highlight females in that kind of light. It's a shame that people see our movie as purposely sexualising women. The actress who played Luna (Anna Gamburg) certainly did not feel that way during the shoot or the result of the film.
GREAT, yet another one of the only three legal scifi themes = HAL attacks. There are massive tons of great science fiction out there. Why can't vid makers read some?
I like to think that this film is more than just 'HAL attacks'. The main theme was that Luna had a choice and acted on her own accord. I agree that there are many great stories out there and I wrote this script as it came to me and it felt right. There are also many elements when it comes to film production and sometimes it's difficult to include them all in order to create a coherent piece for the audience. So it's a shame you saw this film as a 'HAL attacks', however, thank you for taking the time to watch it and all opinions are as valuable as each other. Filmmaking is a skilful and lengthy process, only one can improve on. Have a fantastic day!
This was more of a "HAL protecc". She was just protecting remaining plantlife. It's an understandable reason, and not some rogue murderous robot. If plant life on the earth was endangered and this guy is burning more of it, many humans might have done the same exact thing.
Yes I agree. It is focusing more on the choice and the outcomes of an artificial intelligence’s decisions rather than their pure desire to kill, but I suppose everyone interprets the story differently.
The detective was weird and his interrogation skills were dreadful. Couldn't feel any empathy for him. The storyline asks important questions of the whole AI technology thing. So it served it's purpose well but to be honest I didn't like the film.

Did anyone else get an I.Robot feel from his story... Sorry to say but it kinda felt that way... I'll watch again... I'm sure Asimov had more in his repertoire than just the three laws knowing that a robotic future is detrimental...
A lot of people keep referencing I Robot. It is similar, however it’s ironic as we didn’t use it as inspiration for the film.
@@SkymaxVisuals Excellent point!! Instead of waking up from the dream he has to descend into the nightmare. No one wants an invention to turn on him.
It’s people like you who inspire filmmakers good Sir! 😁
Even if Musk of everything else is gone, it’s encouraging to know that a 2018 Tesla will still be around in ‘58.
😂😂
pgf. Right to the sentences of the verdict. ?
Un plug them all I say! Is this really the future that should be? Count me fucking OUT!
I’m sure they would be too happy 😉

He developed over the course of the conversation. Whether their relationship was meaningful or not is up for the viewer to decide
@@SkymaxVisuals ahhh! I see now. Thanks for explaining.
@@lisanidog8178 My pleasure! Thanks so much for watching

Make incredible short film
Wow! Thank you for the kind words 😃 what was your favourite moment?
Well.
How is a plant a gift?
The plant is a gift as in the world of the film, greenery is a lot scarcer due to mankind’s destruction. So it’s the equivalent of receiving something like a piece of jewellery. Hope this answers your question 😊
Have you never gifted someone with a plant?
😎
😊
Being a 70+ year old tree hugger, I may have stabbed him too 😮
"Ray" opening up to a 'droid is just ridiculous...
His A.I. "hatred" mirrors Detective Spooner's in "I, Robot", when the robot decided to save him instead of the little girl Sarah...
"Will it hurt?" - Sonny to Dr. Calvin, "I, Robot"
So many rip-offs of "I, Robot". Did someone see the movie, and decide to cherry-pick things from it?
Hi Igor, thanks for watching. The film might not be for everyone, thanks for your comment nonetheless. Have a good day!
Detective "Ray Light"? You gotta' be kidding me...
There's a difference between an android and "regular" A.I. A.I. is not necessarily ambulatory, so, "Killed by A.I." is not technically correct...
Thanks Igor for the correction, looking forward to your Sci-Finshort film correcting all of our foolish mistakes :)
I didn't like the story. It was very good, however. I am a cheerful pessimist. This was gloomy pessimism but it deserves a "like."
Ive Chang Fair enough! We respect your comment. Thanks so much for watching 😊
@@SkymaxVisuals Hey guys i thought it was really well done like a piece of shit 👌
"I DID NOT MURDER HIM!" - "Sonny", "I, Robot"... ;-P
"My logic is irrefutable..." - VIKI, "I, Robot"... To save humanity, some humans must be sacrificed... nice rip-off...
Funnily enough despite the parallels I, Robot wasn’t a major influence. I’m a huge fan of Blade Runner though and dystopia/ Sci-Fi in general

2:49 Seriously? Objectifying right from the start. At least I didn't waste any more time than this.
Fair enough Anne. Might not be for everyone. I was 19 when I wrote and directed the film and the cast and crew all worked extremely hard on a voluntary basis. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to leave a comment. Have a wonderful day/ night :)
@@SkymaxVisuals Not all films can be one's cup of tea. But it did ask important questions as I said and that means a lot. I wish I could produce a piece of art like this to get a message across. I try to write short stories but I guess they are not everyone's cup of tea either. May you keep going from strength to strength in your field.
@@Failte630 Same to you Anne. Keep writing those short stories and publish them online and get feedback. I would love to read them :)
Agreed it shows the system coming to terms -maybe- with the implementation of technology- Frankenstein in effect…for 19 years old it’s very good indeed
I am confused. This whole movie was in english voice? Unless none english speaking people can only read english that actually hearing it?
Sorry, what do you mean?
strong looking... and compelling beginning, ultimately a bit silly.
Thanks for taking the time to watch it.
The humans acted as robotic as the AI.
Beep-boop-bop. We are all robots 🤖
Very similar plot to i,robot
Funnily enough, we didn't think of iRobot during production. Blade Runner was our biggest inspiration. Hope you enjoyed it!
guess this doesn't need captioning, another silent movie for the deaf...thumbs down
Apologies for the lack of captions. We have now added them.
Nothing original here at all....but well made for a student piece of work nonetheless.
It’s a shame you didn’t find it original, but maybe you still enjoyed it. We respect everyone has different opinions and thank you for taking the time to watch it.
