If you are in a group and one guy triggers a lire trap, DO NOT HEAL OR ATTACK THE MOBS. Let the guy die and rez him, the mobs will only be aggroed on the guy who stepped on the trap. Then pull them one by one.
I just PotD to level up a DK since reaching Hevensward for first time and this timing is amazing. My friends and I were confused because it feels like you don't get much XP for jobs but we only got to level 20 and decided to stop to learn more.
So if I wanted to level my samurai(50) machinist(30) & red mage (50) I would first have to get to that sweet spot (floor 51-60) & re run the floor with the class I want to level?
I'm on free trial and my biggest consideration to purchase the game is that I find it hard to find group for potd well basically any duty as for me the wait time can be more than 30 minutes. Main job can do msq but for alt is miserable.
So if you are going for that sweet title, what job would you recommend trying to do it on? I would imagine maybe PLD? RDM? I know all jobs can do POTD, but which one in your opinion might have the best chance of doing it and not dying? I love that the game has rare skill achievements like this, gives us something to dream about.
I'd 100% second what Todd said about Maygi's guide. They wrote literally the book (google doc) on POTD and it is like... unbeatable. It is THE reference.

Do I really need to have +99 gear to make it to floor 200 on a matched party? And how long would you expect it to take to get to +99 gear spamming floor 51? Appreciate the help!
I think more than good it's just practice, I'd totally still try it if you want! =] You do NOT really need +99 to make it to 200. you're going to also get a truckload of upgrades as you advance forward so that will help. But really it's just pushing as far as you can. As for how long it'd take for 51-60 spam to hit 99 I think they changed the success of upgrade chance since I last was really leveling the weapons and spamming 51-60 (was a long while ago now)... before I would have said VERY long time cause it was a low chance of success. I think it's higher now. But generally speaking rule of thumb is higher up you go the higher the chance of success on upgrade. What the exact quantitative values of that are are beyond me at this point tho sadly >

For leveling the best spot is to go to floor 60 and then restart with a matched party (unless you can get a party finder group together and then go 4 player fixed party) and spam 51-60! Just restarting from 51-60 nonstop. =]

mere moments ago I completed HoH fl100. I chose the ring. Thats as close as I'll get to fl200 of potd. I feel so good but so exhausted bc fl80 up any kinda aoe or charge attack kills anyone even tanks (usually)
When I play with other players, the leader always takes the treasure. When I try to go the 30th floor, it says I'm not strong enough. Should I do this solo? Also, been waiting for over 3 hours for someone to join me. Just like EXTREME , no one wants to fight.

Soloed all the way to floor 183 and rage quited. Perhaps ill become a Necromancer some other time

According to Maygi's guide, RDM, MCH if you're really good at it.

HoH is very rewarding! Maybe not AS MUCH but certainly very very very good! But it's hard to compete with The Necromancer title from POTD... XD

People use ~Party~ Finder to do these kinda of content, that's why you can't find people via Duty Finder

he states pretty clearly you cannot start POTD until you are level 17 and have progressed you MSQ.
