Have the Cherry MX blue switches changed over the last 10 years? I have a CM Storm XT keyboard with Cherry MX blue switches that has a beautiful clicky sound. But I noticed that the new Corsair k70 with Cherry MX blue switches have a metallic sound and they sound nothing like my CM Storm XT keyboard does. Also, the Outemu blue switches also have a metallic sound. Have blue switches become metallic across the board?

Are you sure your switches aren't Outemu Blues? Outemus are cheaper and are found on such keyboards. They tend to echo and feel more plasticy than proper Cherry MX blues.
