V Rising is damn near perfect. My only real complaint is that there's no option to craft items at workbenches from nearby chests.
Same here, thats the ONE thing i can think could be added and i feel like theres an extremely high likelyhood itll be added in the future considering the specific type chests already exist they just have to link them to the crafting system.
that would make shit so much easier since i got chests throughout my castle
They should add that as a midway boss reward, somewhat similar to how Enshrouded handled it. Don't give it right away, so the player appreciates it when they do get it. Dark Souls 1 did this with fast travel. It's a clever way to give players what they want and expect, but also make them appreciate it when they do finally unlock it.
My main complaint is that the early game area is too bland compared to the mechanical swamp area, I was starting to get bored of early game area and when I got to the swamp area I was like WTF why did they hide the cool stuff for later
V-rising was pretty great at launch so it's cool to see that it's continued to be added to.
Thanks for covering it man
Absolutely! Thank you so much for watching. It's gotten even better since launch. So many QOL improvements
V Rising was great even at its initial EA launch. Progress over EA was slow but as the saying goes, good things come to those who wait. 1.0 has been a joy to play. Got 65 hours of fun out of EA and clocked up a further 50 since. Really glad to see all the positive press about it too. :)
It deserves it and not to mention the price and all the content you get. Compare it to a $70 triple A games and this game is a GEM
@@Onyx1776Yeah 100% 😊
Yeah dude same. I clocked so many hours in EA, then launch happened and I doubled that time so fast hahahah
@@italianspartacus haha so easily done! It's one of those "I'll just do this last thing before I log" games. Then the sun comes up and you realise you've been up all night and have to make excuses for the day.
Another thing that has drawn me to V Rising is how clean and polished many aspects of it feel. The art is always spectacular and I've found myself zooming in to admire the details of the wallpaper or work station or a frozen fish container. The animation also feels smooth and clothing flows in satisfying ways, especially things like long hair or capes.
Lastly, it can be hard to define that quality in a game where it just "feels good" to play, but I believe there has been a lot of effort put into V Rising to capture that. And sometimes those types of games will become favorites over similar titles simply because you associate them as a pleasant experience.
10000% dude couldn't agree more
I called my character Laszlo, and I only have three serv- Uh... housemates who are called Guillermo, Nadja, and Nandor. 12/10, gold star!!!
Top tier naming system!👀😂
Thanks for the review. I just bought it and will start playing it later this week. Looking forward to it!
Easily in my top 5 games of all time. It's so antithetical to AAA games nowadays. Insanely customizable, potentially very difficult, high skill ceiling, super polished systems, most of the 57 bosses are well crafted, pretty good overall weapon and spell balance, relatively low cost, and virtually bug free. It's not perfect, but it's close. In the 500 hours I've played, I've gone thru the game with every weapon type, and can say that full ranged builds make the game quite a bit easier since the combat is mostly geared for mid to close range, but complete balance across range and melee is probably impossible. A few of the boss fights are lackluster, but they do ramp up in difficulty quite well, culminating with Adam and Dracula. The quest objectives (top left) do an excellent job guiding the player, a lot in the early game, and minimally after the mid point. Most of the systems are polished and the design of resource usage is unmatched. This game does an amazing job of making nearly every single item in the game useful all the way to the end. The one drawback is this makes the decision of what to throw on the ground when your inventory is full more difficult. There were a few sticking points in the initial and Gloomrot releases that have been smoothed over, like grinding for research unlocks, and limited storage containers. If you like build/craft/survive games and you haven't played this yet, you're missing out.
I'll tell you one thing. I was on the fence about this game...and this review 100% sold me.
I just bought it a couple days ago, it's soooo good!!
Enjoy bro!
Love this game! Just launched a review of V Rising myself! Keep up the great content!
What’s your channel name? Will Check out the review! I’m considering getting this on PS5. Was a Diablo fan but 4 ruined it with the terrible end game and season stuff. How’s the weapons, armors and abilities?
Been playing since EA came out and I come back every year and put in like 100-200hours for like a month straight and everytime it's amazing. It stratches my Survival game itch everytime and I've gotten soo much value out of this and I can't recommend it enough!
This game is one of the most badass games to release ever. The best dollar value game I have played in quite a long time. I had it in my library from early access and didn't think much of it. I saw a random youtube video that it fully launched and went to try it. Im so glad I did! I think the progression being tied to v blood hunts and crafting was a great idea. It makes me explore more of the world. Love the amount of stuff to craft! Almsot through act 2 and i have a good amount to play with already. They have so many more v blood hunts ahead as well! Its crazy how we have been getting bangers from these smaller companies and just shit from the big ones. I hope they add some more stuff. I'll definitely buy and play more. They deserve it more than most game companies out there easily.
I'm waiting to be able to offer feedback on my experience. So we'll see when I can get there dude.
I'm thinking of a magic leaning run for myself though. That's my kind of thing.
This is the first survival game I’ve ever played and I absolutely love it!!
Hell yeah!!
@@italianspartacus 🧛🙌🏻💪🏼
@@aggymattdefinitely a good game to start off in survival tbh out of all of them. I love rust but if you started on that or ark you would probably hate survival games tbh. This game has aspect from all of them that fit so good together
has to be game of the year because i dont finish games but this one made me have beef with dracula
@@Onyx1776 I’ll be honest I tried ark quite a few years ago but I didn’t gel with it and didn’t understand it at all. What really enjoying about V Rising is I can play at my own pace because of how versatile the servers allow you to be and I always feel like I’m accomplishing something. I love it ha ha
Yep, I agree with all of your points. There's something special about this game. I don't think it's going to win many big flashy awards, but not every game bloody needs to. It's kept me coming back to it all throughout its early access and now after release. You spend a lot of time in it ("Wait, what? How is it 2am already?!"), but you don't regret any of that time spent or resent the devs for wasting your time on purpose (Ain't no 'time saver' MTX here). Overall a great little game. They knew what they wanted to do, they did it, and they did it well.
The only thing I really wish they'd change (Apart from some QoL things, of which a LOT has already been done) is adding an optional server setting for private PvE servers that eliminates the castle boundary system, allowing you to build with freedom like you could when the early access started. The changes they made limiting that build area were 100% necessary for multiplayer (To prevent griefing and such), but when I want to kick back for a bit and build my castle on my chill solo server, there are things you just can't do anymore, and I miss being able to. But that's really my only nitpick.
Oh man hahahah that'd be so fun you can PROBABLY do it by editing an ini file if it's not outright in the options? The server customization is pretty strong!
The customization IS strong (And I absolutely love that), but I scoured it and couldn't see that option. You might have a point about the ini file though, I hadn't considered that at all! Good shout, pal, cheers for that. Time to do some investigation!
So apparently there's something called "Creative Mode" which turns off a lot of the restrictions by default. Here's a video on it :) ruclips.net/video/vuDxvLWbdag/видео.html&ab_channel=FireSpark81
Excellent review! Thanks Spartacus.
My pleasure bro!
One thing I dont think you mentioned is how during the day since you are a vampire you have to stick to the shadows or you will burn up. Also have to be careful during boss fights if it changes from night to day , it adds another layer of challenge
Short answer... Yes... very much so yes
Party in Wayne!
The video helped! Thanks, I'm buying it
@ItalianSpartacus how does this work jumping from a private solo character into a multiplayer session with friends? will the progression carry in some way or will it be square one again?
No :( they exist on there own unfortunately
This game is absolutely brilliant and the new stuff in 1.0 compared to early access in terms of additional content, new UI etc. is amazing.
The only downside so far is that no matter what graphical settings I use the game will randomly tank, chugging at 20 fps or so. Relogging in the exact same location seems to magically fix this - I am running on an official EU PVE server so not sure if that might be the issue but my ping is consistently low.
Did not have this issue in early access and my PC exceeds necessary requirements.
Hopefully this will be resolved soon. Will also try hosting my own game and see.
Other than this issue this is one of favourite games.
Hmmm... Have you tried shutting off AMD FSR in the graphics settings? It should help with FPS, but I found it actually made the game run better for me
i am playing on an rx5700xt and on average of 60 fps, make sure u have updated ur windows and drivers?
@@italianspartacus I shall try that - tried running it in borderless window and it seemed more consistent but still tanked during play, so I'll try this on the morrow. Appreciated.
@@AntwKats Yep, they are up to date but I'm running Windows 11 which is ridiculously problematic, so I wouldn't be surprised. Also going to run a private game on my own PC tomorrow and see if I encounter the same problems - might also be server lag. Was on with my mate this evening and his FPS tanked at the same time as mine, so it's worth a try.
@@demonfandango Are u running dual or more screens by chance? And is it installed on ssd? I think ur problem has nothign to do with graphics .Also check ur Cpu usage/temp just in case . gl
I love this game. I've played it every time a new update comes out since it first was in early access. My only gripe is that there isn't enough in the end game to keep me playing once i've beat all the bosses. At least PVE wise, I think this will eventually not be an issue as they add more content though .Something like PVE raids that you can defend and get resources with on top of the current pvp raids would bring more excitement. Overall the game is amazing and I can't wait to see what they have in store as there is SOOOO much potential.
Can i progress using weapons that are dropped or do i need to heavily invest in crafting? Seems like it can get complicated
Im happy this is coming to console 😅 tired of waiting to even hear something about a next-gen tag for Conan, if it even exists for the future, only a handful of decent survival Conan-like on console.
Your humour is brilliant, and yes V Rising is beautiful, special, and everything I want in a survival. I don't know much about the lore of the game, but I feel so immersed in a top-down, They did an amazing job with this game, and it was already special during early access. Great upload man!
Excellent video! I played the hell out of Valheim and this game has sucked me in in a very similar way. I love the progression system and it's a lot of fun thinking about what boss I need to kill next in order to become more powerful. Don't know if I'll try the PvP as that's never really been my thing. But I'm 20 hours in and the PvE so far has been fantastic
Pvp is soo good bro. Definitely try it out but learn the games first in pve. I’m learning the game through pvp just no base raid (cause I’m new as well) but I’m having a blast
It's a fuckin blast either way :)
I played the early access for about 60-70 hours and loved it, but got busy playing other games, I believe this was around the time of the pandemic lockdown. Recently I was getting the urge to return, then when I heard the 1.0 launch had just happened I was more motivated to start up again, then once I saw the Castlevania pack I was sold, and I’ve been playing nonstop for like a week
HAHAHAHA same dude
@@italianspartacus the time flies by man, I’ll say “30 more minutes” then it’s 4 am
Picked V Rising for the first time with its full release and I'm blown away. The combat, castle building, survival elements, everything is just top notch and it looks and feels amazing!
Can’t wait to dive in on ps5 on the 11th June or pre order for 5 days early access which costs less ,it’s a no brainier imo
Gameplay feel smooth. Bosses are challenging and unique. Many skill to pick and play. Progress Required farming, Graphic and Art design is flawless. Castle and garden building can be very beautiful and very boring. so Vrising is WORTH you could spend like 50+hours chilling progressing building killing and still have so much endgame content.
Do our stuff carry between server (pvp, pve) ?
Valheim storage, here's a chest you can keep 10 things in.
Now make a thousand
Just picked it up and I am loving it, only have 30 mins in it
One of these days, i would like to see you do a video series on Star Citizen
Is it live service like other games with subscriptions for more quality of life and stuff like that?
Nope! You buy it! It's a complete game. I'm not sure what their road map looks like
Would you suggest pvp for a casual group? I want the added tension of pvp and to see how our castle fairs in a raid. Im just concerned we'd get dumpstered by people abusing mechanics/glitches who have much more knowledge of the game.
There are so many things i love about this game, but the best is the boss fights. Actually have alot of mechanics to dodge and get around. Other games bosses have like 2 abilities these bosses have quite a few, and that is what drew me in. And the building...OMG i suck at building, but this game makes building so easy that even my castle is coming along nicely, and i can build with ease. I have been in a slump for games, and this game has definitely filled the hole. There's just so much to do, lol. I start something, and then the next thing I know, i am 5 hours in, and like, holy cow, i gotta get off and go to bed, lol
I literally love this game i barely got the legion go handheld and I play this game all day
ive seen it recommanded to me and im about to try cuz it looks so great. and now after seeing u talk about it im stoked to try it out
Fuck yeah dude!
I've been playing for a while. While the story is still fairly bare bones, I do find myself playing longer than I expected every time I boot it up. The castle building is great, coming from someone who just builds a functional pyramid in Conan.
They updated it to show that you already know a specific recipe? Fantastic! That bothered me for a good long while. Wasted so many copper coins trying to unlock different armor/weapons just to find out I already had it. Now, if only they could make the bloodrose potion one of the first things that unlocks... Literally had to wait for RNG to unlock it and it was the next to last thing to unlock in t1 production.
7 days in a row, cant stop playing this, simply a good game
Will this game get more content/dlc over time?
No roadmap yet but I'm hoping so!
Loving this game but MAN I am not good with MNK and the controller camera in combat is giving me fits. This game may the one where I tough out keyboard. I find it hysterical that I can type really, really fast but, as soon as I take my fingers off the "home keys" I forget where everything is...lol.
Hmmm I wish I had an easy solution for you man. I remember switching from the arrow keys to WASD around the early 00s. It felt so alien but now I can't imagine doing it any other way!
7:42 10/10 recovery
How does he have white wolf?? Is that dlc?
Looks fun
It's a great time!
How to play if I m solo and i m not smart so I will not be griefed and destroyed?
I think that the game is really good, I like direction some survival games are going with melding them other genres. My only disappointment with V Rising is the wonky controls on controller. I'm not too sure how the PS5 crowd is gonna feel about it. Once you get used to it, it's fine, but if you jump from game to game, I find it a nuisance to get used to the controls again.
Personnally I put V Rising on the same rating as I put Valheim. Valheim offers a lot of replayability due to having a procedural generative map and the overall gameplay is pretty nice. However it lacks a tons of quality of life for better or worse. V Rising offers less replayability because it is a fixed map however you have a good number of skill, weapons and way to approach the game that you can always find some way to replay the game and the world is full of life. But as a vampire survival game, I think this game is very good.
i wish this game had a toggle cam so it worked like 3p shooter because carpo
There's a mod for that actually! Allows first person as well!
101% YES on Brutal PVE!
Gotta say, your shitty jokes were on point in this one!
I’m waiting for PS5 launch and am beyond excited for V Rising.
It's taking forever to launch!!
thanks
You're welcome!
Great review! I' enjoy the game alot too! But when will you come back to Total War Warhammer? We miss you!
No time soon brother :(
@@italianspartacuswhy? I enjoyed your videos there too…
I've put over 3000 hours into the trilogy and I've sucked all of the fun out of them. Making content at this point would not be genuine as I'd be faking it due to my exhaustion. I have to come back to the game naturally or else I'd just be making videos to make them. If they do another elf DLC, I know that'll hype me up, but right now, I need to take a good break. I have a plan to release some total war adjacent content though :) it'll be history n Lore related using total war games
@@italianspartacus that is totally fair and reasonable. I fully understand, thanks for clarifying.
This game is so fun!
Its my GOTY.
One of the few games I really love playing and my wife hates because of that 😅
Why not get her hooked on it as well haha
HAHAHAH
I realy wish they did crafting from Containers..
This games amazing if u've got time. Lost all my stuff from being gone a while and heart going to decay 😂 gonna try again soonish
Come. Join our server!!
@@italianspartacus lmao i dod last wek thats where it happened! 🤣🤣
HAHAHA NOOOO!!
Wait so if you don’t log in for long enough you lose your stuff? How long does it take? Is it from getting raided when offline or some mechanic like that? I have like 1-2 days a month to play games max
@@shadeitplease7383 you can play solo or w/ friends and be fine. Pretty sure some servers have the "decay" off. It has a decay system for you "castle heart" that makes u vunerable for pvp. Pretty u can turn it off but not positive
Why no disc version ? Hate that
I love the game, apart from Adam the 1st born lol
My recommendation don't look at guides you'll learn what works and what doesnt.
Agreed!
It’s Diablo with base building.
If you want to play PvP - no.
PvP is all about whoever grinds/gets to end soonest. Gear = win.
Imagine if in Rust you'd get an AK and nothing below AK can kill you now regardless of how skilled the opponent is with the gun below the AK. yea. that's V rising's PvP in a nutshell
This is just not true. If you are skilled you can fight people at a higher tier.
@@algorithmgeneratedanimegir1286
This is only partially true, there is insane difference between someone at 90gs and 84gs.
At the same time there is little difference between someone at 20gs and 30gs. Similar to further levels when you're in iron wep stage, like lvl 40 vs lvl 50 is still balanced.
Once you get to the end there are these things to consider suddenly:
Passives/legendary weps with bonus abilities/tier4 spell jewels/ full dracula armor and its set bonuses.
You are suddenly expected to enter mortium zone with 4 different thing disadvantage lmao. And guaranteed unless you like I said nolife grinded, will be behind and be often ganked by the lvl 90's soulshard holders patrolling the area.
I mean, the game is really good, but if this is the best the survival genre has to offer, that's gotta be a giant pile of shit of a genre then.
That's a harsh stance. It's a different game like others in the genre, it's also still a relatively new one
So basically Diablo 4 but better and finished
Its an unpolished diamond but needs quiet a bit of work still... For me the game is very frustrating even at tuned down difficulty.. Feels like a walking simulator every time you die having to walk back 5 mins+.. With so few and limied teleporting available.
Skill issue
So few teleporting?? I did the most I have walked to my body is like 1 or 2 minutes unless daytime. That's what I actually love about the game. Other games are way worst.
@@smokingcactusworse
Thanks for this thorough look at this game. It convinced me not to get it. I know lots of folks love this depth and detail, but it is way too much of a job in my book. It does look fun for the combat - I wish that was all that it was.
D vibes for sure
