    What makes shooting them even worse is that, Walker initially refused to comply. He was an armed and highly trained soldier, their superior in almost everyway. Spec Ops The Line proves that you can make the US military the enemies in a game without making them out to be bad guys. You just have to write it the correct way. I know this video is a few years old now, but I love this game and its story so much. I'd like to present a thought I had earlier, as my mind went to thinking about the lore. In the white phosphorus scene, as Walker is standing there trying to keep himself together after seeing the horror his actions caused, Adam's and Lugo are screaming at each other about what they'd done, and it hit me.
    Adams and Lugo are literally the Angel and Devil on Walker's shoulders. Adam's playing the devil, saying they had to do it, they didn't have a choice, justifying the actions, while Lugo was the Angel, trying to stop them from using it at first, then saying they shouldn't have done it, they killed because of Walker and being the sane voice (despite screaming about turning into killers).

    Honestly, i believe he kills himself either way. The massive amount of trauma and defeat he endured would be too much. The "altered reality" he sees in the end is made to ease the players mind if they chose not to kill walker. Rescue came in later -after no radio contact with Delta- to find the entire 33rd and Delta massacred. This game represents the Tragic Hero story to a T. I wish Adams could still be alive somewhere but even that would be too optimistic.

    People don't talk enough about why Walker is wearing Konrad's suit at the end. It's because he ended up being responsible for everything he blamed Konrad for. It also adds to the mystery of whether or not he's dead because, not only did he blame everything on a dead man, but he also ends up wearing that dead man's shirt, because he himself is dead.

      I know I'm way behind on this by like 9 years lol, but on the higher difficulties, here's what you do:
      Take out the first guy, then immediately go for the cover behind him. From there keep behind cover and dodge the grenades as best you can until you've picked off the first group one by one. Don't rush it until you're sure all the troops are down. After that first part it's pretty easy as long as you keep behind cover.

    • @drazach_7819
      @drazach_7819 Год назад

      @@josephpercy8772 What I did was kill the 3 guys on the left, then knock the guy in front of you to the ground, kill the guy behind him that took cover and lastly kill the one that comes running from the left side.
      You actually should take you're time, cuz when you do it to fast and run to the first humvee that comes after backup is called there's like some weird scripted death. Basically a soldier appears somewhere on the right side shoots with his m4a1 on the ground and you just die without even getting hit.

    Maybe the last one has a deeper meaning, Walker has conquered the hell he's put in and now it becomes his hell hence why he said "Gentleman, Welcome to Dubai", The Gentleman are the Angels trying to punish him and Dubai is his hell, now his own Domain.

    I'm not sure if I get the third ending but, my interpretation is that walker is rejecting his own humanity and has decided to just kill as many people as possible before he dies. Basically wanting humanity itself extinct.

    when i made the first bad decision (trying to save gould), i looked up each choice to take the entirely rotten path... the white phosphorus part is the real game changer, if that can be avoided, the game would have a much brighter path, haven't played through a second time yet, actually i'm coming up to the friendly/unfriendly fire choice, not sure which is going to be the "worse path". they both seem pretty evil to me.

  • @Segeric
    @Segeric 11 лет назад +13

    My first playthrough, I did everything a man driven to insanity by committing atrocities such as Walker might do. Towards the beginning I was a little stand-off-ish, but after the White Phosphorus part, I figured that Walker and his team (or at least Walker) isn't going to make it out of Dubai. From then on out I just shot everything that moved, including the soldiers that try to help you. Some people say that ending isn't what Walker would do given the story, but you can only push a man so far.

  • @Danae_O
    @Danae_O 11 дней назад

    I like the detail that, after a whole game where he yells and curses the more desperate and violent he becomes, now even when he's shooting down soldiers he's completely silent until that last line. Regardless of if it was intentional or not, it comes across as if all the actual fight left in him ended at the tower.

    That´s a theory, but it´s a very plausible one...doesn´t make it any more right or wrong then the other theories tho, because up untill he wakes up after the chrash, he could also be knocked out and just relive his mission in his mind, then wakes up and tries to continue it, setting of the last parts of the game.
