- A viewer asked about the JBL IRX108BR's DSP settings and I made a video to hear the difference. With the exception of "Speech", the others are very similar. The owner's manual states that "Flat" is for monitor use, "Music" is for use on a speaker stand (or FOH), "Vocal" provides a LPF at 100Hz, and "Speech" is for speaking. I don't hear a very drastic LPF - I'm wondering if the manual mis-spoke and "Speech" has the LPF at 100Hz. The bass boost does provide a nice little bump in the low frequencies. I believe these little speakers have exceptional low end for a 17lb speaker of their size. Nice power too!

it's louder than the eon one compact ? more bass ? because it is the same speaker size.
a test of 12 " model would be interesting
It is and has more bass... It had better bass than QSC K8.2 also.
I bought ir recently and When activ bass Boost i can't found any diference. Thats normal??? Is My speaker working good??? Helpl!! Music and flat so similar sound Quality too.
There isn't a huge difference between the settings... But you should hear a slight low end boost when bass boost is enabled.
Also... Flat, Music and Vocal are very close... I can't tell much of a difference. Speech drops the low end out completely. I use Flat with bass boost most of the time.
@@bestproaudio4255 thanks for your answer
Wow you were right about subtle DSP difference. The DSP has more of a crossover effect to it than a digital signal processor... So, irx more bass, k8.2 higher output?
Exactly... The K8.2's DSP is also much better. You can also custom EQ the speaker via the DSP. I've tried beefing up the lows to match the low / high frequency balance of the IRX108 or even a Bose S1 - no dice. The K8.2's would be awesome for a full band needing to push a vocalist over the drums, etc... Lots of output - But I actually prefer the sound of the IRX for music playback.
@@bestproaudio4255 do you have a pair of cp8s?
@@DJBpartyTV I don't... but I've heard good things about them. Check out ruclips.net/video/0g4m47BzROE/видео.html - good video discussing these speakers.
@@bestproaudio4255 I have 2 but haven't had a chance to use them yet. I'll check out the link.
@@bestproaudio4255 hey, how about IRX108 Versus Eon615 for playback? When should you pair a irx108 with a subwoofer?
How would a pair of these sound with the JBL irx 15 s sub?
I think they would sound awesome! I really do like the IRX108BT's. Lightweight, but still powerful. Combine them with the IRX sub and I bet it will sound great!!
Are these louder like QSC K8.2 or CP8.
They are between the S1 Pro's and QSC K8.2....
