wow this reeeaaally helped me out, I was struggling with my corsa to swap the engineblock, thx for the effort u put in your video's m8! u're awesome :D
I love the way you present your videos and the way you go step by step. Most videos skip a lot of things where you cover everything. Thanks and well done.
I have watched part 1 and 2 over the years more than a few times just for fun and for the fact its well explained and helpful. Now the time has come for me to swap my 1.2 engine on my project corsa and i can watch this video again and write out the tools and procedures. Cheers for the information and great content.
I don't have a Corsa and have never owned one, but these videos are still interesting and some of the things you do are still fairly universal across different cars. Keep up this content.
Change the oil. Clean the spark plugs. Check the water in the refrigerator, change the wheels. This is the basis that all of us who drive need to know. This man explains well the more complex actions.
Having spent 7hrs changing a Land Rover transfer box, it was great to sit down with a cuppa and some chocolate to watch someone else do a bit👍 Cheers for sharing! I enjoyed that😄
Just recently rebuilt a z20let engine and got a old corsa c sitting in the drive so this has been a great help for me when i go to remove the 1.2 ,thanks!
I'm in the process of changing an Opel Corsa C z14xe engine myself. Only the cables are opposite because I live in the Netherlands. Thanks to this video I hope that I will succeed.
These 2 videos are truly awesome. I'm sure I speak for many when I say that I applaud you on a job well done and the filming and explanation of what you are doing throughout is amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed watching them. Cheers. 👍👍👍
This is an informative video. When I did the engine change on the Corsa, I tried leaving the gearbox in situ and it is nigh on impossible. I barely got the engine out but I couldn't get it back in with the gearbox in situ. You need to take the engine and gearbox out together. I also had to contend with the aircon which had to be left in situ. Venting the refrigerant was a big no-no and on top of that there would've been the cost of a recharge. I just unbolted the compressor from the engine and the aircon still works to this very day. I've still got the old engine and I might do a post mortem video to see what went wrong with it. I subscribe to Martin's channels as well.
Thank you so much dude i have got a Holden Barina XC 1.4 L (Australian Model ) 2005 3 door model and this teardown is just so appreciative, I can't be more thankful for this great piece of knowledge. honestly, didn't even knew where to jack up the car, that kinda dummy.
Having just taken out corsa B 1.4 8v and done total rebuild on it , and got it running. got todo the same on my corsa b 1.6 16v sport . it’s interesting to see how corsa C are put together I prefer the corsa B it’s still easer dropping engine out bottom. Your video showed some interesting stuff 👍
if you are scrapping the car its a good idea to just cut the wires on the connectors to prevent water ingress and damaged pins, then remove the connector when you are ready to reinstall.
How easy it all seems when you do it. How to put everything back in its place without any problems.:It is difficult for us. Who have been driving for decades. We love cars and motorcycles. And we do jobs unrelated to car mechanics, electricity. To us, your advice is precious. Let's know a little more than the basics
Hi. Thank you for all the videos. I just found a corsa 1995 1.2 swing. With 26,000 miles one owner immaculate condition. What are your thoughts on this model? Anything to look out for? One owner from new.
Random comment here, but I was watching some videos on 'Solar Panel' installations, that hefty battery wire could possibly resell if you tried on eBay along with them connections.
Ive been having a lot of retrorestore come up in my recommendations because he fixes many of the sane Vauxhalls. Here in Australia we have the EXACT same stuff as Holdens but NO diesels (our diesel is too low grade), FAR more automatics and often bigger engines and can't get some of the smaller British market engines. You can pretty much FORGET 3 cylinder engines here except 1 type of kia (not many sold) and 1 type of suzuki.
Hi James there one tone straps mate u can tell by the stitching that goes down the strap 1 line of stitching is 1 tone two lines 2 ton and so on good vid m8 keep it up
Actually as someone with a crane license they're all colored to be a certain weight rating, green and purple are common ones I remember but theres a few other colors. I think green are 2 ton. As you noose them or lift on an angle of you use a lifting bar, they technically drop in rating. Few people know that but it's what they teach. The blue tags that he didn't even notice have the ratings written on them.
Hi James dont suppose you can do a 2019 tool box/ cart tour. Really interested in seeing what you keep in your tool cart and what tools you use on daily basis. If you dont mind 👍
Think I would have put the engine hoist/straps in place before getting underneath to remove the rear mount. Worn or sheared side mounts could cause it to fall. Other than that, good video, nice to see someone going to the effort of a bolt by bolt removal 👍
@@jwgti2314 I sure as hell wouldn't get under it whilst it was swinging about on 2 mounts without additional support from above. Pretty sure any reputable garage would do the the same. Then again, I'm a belt and braces guy, not a seat of the pants type. Must be my Millitary R.E.M.E training.
Wouldn't it be better to change the HG with the engine all connected up so you can start it after you're done and check it's timed spot on and that a new HG holds the coolant away from the oil (otherwise it could be a cracked or block) ?
It seems there are 2 types for the Corsa C up to 16999999 and after. After this it seems you need to remove the gaiter and release the shaft from the cup. How to get the cup off, not sure - probably released inside somehow but I never needed to and engine removal probably doesn't need it.
I can remember when you only scrapped a car because of creeping terminal rust and damage.Manufacturers were worried that if they made their cars too rust proof, nobody would buy new ones..but they need not have worried, nature always moves the goalposts when it wants it's stuff back.
Any one else think that impact gun was a ferrex gun? Same as the drill and impact drivers from aldi they look very much alike. Even down to the battery release.
Hi James been waiting on Instagram for approval for a while. Hopefully I have the right account. Another top video. If I were you I'd weigh it in after you get it out and be done with it.
I usually work in an alley behind my workshop. Too much stuff to move to bring a car in for anything small. Usually within half an hour the neighbours let their dogs out to incessently bark at me They only let them out for long periods when I'm working out back. I don't really understand either,I don't use the impact too much or make excessive noise or anything. Some people are just shitty I guess
I watch Martin aswell as hubnut, nitrosilvia, mustie1 along with a few others. The wife isn't too impressed but it's better than the soaps she's into. I should be out doing the exhaust on the cinquecento but it's started to rain again, nothing new there. Corsas don't have a front axle, but you know that.
The wife isn't too impressed who you watch. But you're not watching porn and if you criticized what she watched, she'd be unhappy for a month. They're great at telling everyone else what to do but heaven forbid anyone tries it on them.
Hi James, would you consider uploading to another platform than RUclips? I am going to come off there but will miss your creative content and 'nitrosilva' too. I'm going to LBRY & Bit Chute. If you went to Patreon I would gladly pay for your videos.
Better than them ringing the council. I knew an old guy who was a mechanic and had a heap of old gear about a kilometer back from the road UNABLE TO SEE from the road, nearly half of it was my uncles stuff that was dumped there 12 years before. The ONLY way you could see it was by plane. This is on a 300 acre farm. Literally the WEEK AFTER he died the wife and son get a cleanup order from the council. So a lot of my uncles stuff got scrapped too including massive cement mixers.
wow this reeeaaally helped me out, I was struggling with my corsa to swap the engineblock, thx for the effort u put in your video's m8!

I think I speak for the whole savage garage squad when I say..."thank you and just what we need". Keep these coming
I love the way you present your videos and the way you go step by step. Most videos skip a lot of things where you cover everything. Thanks and well done.
Haha, Nice one James, thanks for the shout out bud. You are doing a great job. Like the tool cart too.

Made my day coming home to a 40 min savage garage video. Keep up the good work, love these videos 👍

Have no intention of removing an engine from a corsa, but the level of detail made it so interesting.
Your videos are brilliant James you put a lot of effort into them to make great content, Keep them coming :-)
Thank you so much for these two videos! Because of your excellent describing and filming, i was able to remove the engine myself.
These 2 videos are truly awesome. I'm sure I speak for many when I say that I applaud you on a job well done and the filming and explanation of what you are doing throughout is amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed watching them. Cheers. 👍👍👍

I wanted to see a video like this for years :D Thanks Very Much :)
This has been a brilliant mini series mate quality on point 👌
Literally just sat down with a pizza. Perfect timing
if you are scrapping the car its a good idea to just cut the wires on the connectors to prevent water ingress and damaged pins, then remove the connector when you are ready to reinstall.
18:40 "Ugh a bee!" lmao cracked me up
Always getting better! Great job James
Already waiting for the head gasket and timing belt videos! Thanks for the interesting content
Have you thought about head mouting a go pro? Might make filming a little more fluid for you? Thanks for all the great vids!
Matthew Lester would be cool but you wouldn’t be able to see as well and the general quality wouldn’t be as good
@@44ro.n I know what you mean, its almost like Google Glass would work, so he could fiddle and film without slowing down
What a great video mate. You really do put time and effort in to your vids. Well done 👍
nice one mate,i need to change water pump ,do you know whats the torque setting for the engine mounting braket
? thank you

Great video as usual dude
Nice work James 👍👍👍
another great video James I really enjoyed watching it and look forward to the next one
I gotta say i do like your uploads. proper good job.
Hi.
Thank you for all the videos. I just found a corsa 1995 1.2 swing. With 26,000 miles one owner immaculate condition.
What are your thoughts on this model? Anything to look out for? One owner from new.
Taking drive shaft out only requires u to undo the bottom ball joint from the hub. No need to undo track rod ends or remove hub from shock.
Make sure you put the nut back on the track rod end saves your threads if you miss the arm.
Random comment here, but I was watching some videos on 'Solar Panel' installations, that hefty battery wire could possibly resell if you tried on eBay along with them connections.
Camera work was very good

I can just see your Mum saying 'when are you actually going to move out?' :) Great video. Keep up the good work.
Lives with his wife, and this is at their house......
The retaining clip on the drive shafts is called a CIRCLIP. Drive shafts are not axles. Love your vids mate.
If you kept the engine how did you get rid of the car seeing as you can't reattach the front Wheels?
When you do a timing kit. Can you show how to take of the serpentine belt also😀.
32:46: Gearlinkage mount clip removal.
32:37: O2 sensor disconnect.
please i want to ask you one question
i have corsa A with carburetor and i want to swap the vectra 2.0 engine does it fit to my car or no
Thanks for giving keeping me entertained keep up the good work
Great video mate. Just goes to show that it's not that difficult. 😎👍
I'm thinking about putting 1.8 or 2.0 in my corsa c
Wicked content keep them coming 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
great vid very helpful thanks!
Hi James dont suppose you can do a 2019 tool box/ cart tour. Really interested in seeing what you keep in your tool cart and what tools you use on daily basis. If you dont mind 👍
hi mate james has got a 2018 toolbox+shed tour its a great video he will show you exactly what hes got 👍
Think I would have put the engine hoist/straps in place before getting underneath to remove the rear mount. Worn or sheared side mounts could cause it to fall. Other than that, good video, nice to see someone going to the effort of a bolt by bolt removal 👍

Hi James, loving these in depth videos. Do you think that the sequence of steps would apply to most small cars?
Haha, Martyn from Retrorestore...GREAT BLOKE...
Wouldn't it be better to change the HG with the engine all connected up so you can start it after you're done and check it's timed spot on and that a new HG holds the coolant away from the oil (otherwise it could be a cracked or block) ?
whats the big black thing in you ear at start of vid?
An earphone ?
How come you didnt use the sealey e ratchet
Simply not enough power for a lot of these bigger bolts. Those things are not exactly impact guns....
Why not use your new Sealey impact and see how good it is?
Where’s the videos?
how much would the rear passanger door cost? Also how much for the mass airflow senser?
There are only two rear doors.
Very informative and interesting good video 👍
Much for the alloys off it needing new wheels with decent tyres for my corsa c sxi+
Those straps are 2 ton each it goes by the strips on the strap keep an eye on the date of manufacturing 👍🏻
There doesn't seem to be room to pry on the near side one since its recessed.
It seems there are 2 types for the Corsa C up to 16999999 and after. After this it seems you need to remove the gaiter and release the shaft from the cup. How to get the cup off, not sure - probably released inside somehow but I never needed to and engine removal probably doesn't need it.
hi james you selling the alloys are the tyres ok if so how much
cheers
Hey ... ordered a jumper of yours on 6th June and sent couple of emails no reply do you know when I'll get the jumper please thanks
Great video as always. I don't suppose you are going to dismantle the engine to find out why it failed? Cheers.

Perfect 👍🏼 Enough said ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
First Class " J ".
Baz.
Good work
Very good, very good, very good ,,😄👍
nice work.
Good job mate.
Great video . How about a full nut & bolt strip down should make plenty of cash back in spare parts
I want to put a corsa Vxr engine in my corsa c
Nice job mate :)
Any one else think that impact gun was a ferrex gun? Same as the drill and impact drivers from aldi they look very much alike. Even down to the battery release.
The amount of copycat stuff out there is incredible.
Do you still have the Mini Cooper
Probably
Trash Noob his mrs drives it
How do you know
Because when he first got the mini he said the mrs will be driving it’s her car
Oh ok
James, Do you have an eBay shop. For any parts from the corsa?
I watched that guy as well
Hi James been waiting on Instagram for approval for a while. Hopefully I have the right account. Another top video. If I were you I'd weigh it in after you get it out and be done with it.
Better have curiouse neigbours then complaining ones😂
I’ve got both!

39:05 RWD corsa
I think that is how the fuel pipe is designed to unclip 👍
Sounds like your working in a birds nest..the cherping is strong in this one...😂😭

Use a chest or head mounted go pro it’s a lot easier to film and work
Took out my 1.8T gearbox and engine yesterday.... NEVER AGAIN!
Maybe you found rust underneath the corsa
watcha puttin in there??? @The Savage Garage
George Donaldson EI7KO I think he said he’s gonna make it a parts car so he can sell parts from it.
Whats that black thing in your ear? lol
Yesss 🙂
It’s not an axle it’s a drive shaft
Hi James, would you consider uploading to another platform than RUclips? I am going to come off there but will miss your creative content and 'nitrosilva' too. I'm going to LBRY & Bit Chute. If you went to Patreon I would gladly pay for your videos.
Never try and support an SR20 on one of those trolleys lol
Put C20LET or Z20LET engine instead of 1.2 :D
NaniQV hes getting rid of the car
Sorry 2 tones lol just noticed 2 lines
I hate when my neighbours ask me what im doing whilst working on a car.
