    When I first discovered your channel. It was the black Corsa you had originally that you made a how to on HIDs and debadge using toffee wheel! I owned a 1.0l Corsa then, I now own a 2.5l V6 Alfa Romeo 156. Times have changed and I still love watching the corsa content! James you're a top lad! 🙌

    I drive a little newer model.These Corsa that I drive.But they are the same classic economical opel-corsa c 1,3 confore ,,, petrol/: In the 12 years I've been driving it. She never betrayed me on the road. I changed her technical things. Oil, filters, oil and gasoline pumps. Great city car. Cheap to maintain. Thank you for all the useful tips in the clips you make.

    Corsa's suffer with condensation so if it hasn't been started for a long while then it will be like that. Will need a flush and fresh oil

    You want to check the timing cover gasket behind the water pump first as there prone to failure, dumps coolant straight into the oil!!!

    Hey James, funny how things work out, but thought I would share, but I know this car is probably scrap now, but if the reason was, even after replacing the the rear main seal was still leaking after replacement, there is also a 3rd place it leaks from, which again is an engine out job. But it can leak from the gear box side on the 'alloy cradle' aka crank base plate (which holds crank. So if you to do the engine in order of layers working down it goes cylinder head } head gasket }engine block } sealant } CRANK BASE PLATE } sealant } lastly sump. It leaks exactly on that corner which would have been easy to see once the gearbox is seperated. You may have known this but I literally found this out a few days ago from a guy who restorers Vauxhall Corsa C and D for a retirement living. Just thought I would share if it was.something that had your head scratching. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

    Pretty sure this generation of the Corsa used to get condensation in the engine when they done short journeys or weren't started for a while. Makes the oil look like it's mixing with water. A long journey usually sorted it out

    Do the vid about changing the timing chain and head gasket, but use the existing parts for demo purposes. If you use new parts it will cost twice as much as that engine is worth. They are two a penny at the scrappy, £50 a pop.Break the car yourself and sell the parts onn, then weigh the shell in.

    Don't know how you're allowed 5 cars on your drive. I have so much as two and it's constant ear ache about scrap cars making the house look run down.
    Also rear main seals are a pain in the ass, especially if you're leaving the car to sit. They need to be lubed up to death and put together and started up pronto. You do it with normal engine oil and then leave it without starting it for months, the seal runs dry and leaks. I use silicone grease and completely pack the seal in it, and then just change the engine oil after 50-100 miles.

    @Mark... 5 лет назад +1

    Looking back at your older video of this corsa where you done the rear main seal, when you have the sump off applying sealant the oil that’s in the sump looks very similar to how this oil is now which is a slight milkyness too it. Iam guessing you just reused the old oil? Iam guessing head gasket.
    Are you going to refit the engine once the work is done so that you can run it and make sure all is well before selling it?
