Exploring the VOLCANIC FIELDS of SUNSET CRATER | Cinder Hills OHV, Flagstaff, AZ

Camped near Sunset Crater National Monument, we took the opportunity to explore the surrounding volcanic fields called Cinder Hills in our 4Runner - 4x4 required.
The stunning OHV area is 13,500 sq. miles of pure exploration! With endless craters to climb, we only explored a small portion of the area and had a great time. We even make it to the top of Double Crater!

Hi guys! I have a 5th GEN that I just got , Trd off-road premium, but it’s all stock with street tires, 265s. Is the Cinders like driving on deep sand or can I explore the area with stock tires and not sink and get stuck? Thanks! Great video! 👍🏻🌵🛞🛞🛞🛞

Hey, congratulations on your new 4runner! I think you’d be fine with street tires, maybe just air down a bit for a smoother ride and more traction. We run 265 all terrains and had no problem cruising all around. Thanks for watching!

We weren’t in a national park 😎 Sunset Crater is a very small national park within the surrounding lava fields but good looking out.
