Nice that you like it here, just a little information: USA has 2.59 doctors per 1,000 inhabitants, Germany 4.33. For hospital beds: US 2.8 Germany 8.22. We go to the ER less because we just go to our family doctor, unless it's really an emergency, then it's better to call the ambulance too (doesn't bankrupt you here). Your time is coming to an end? What a pity.
The "free" parking means there are available spots to park. So you know already before driving into these car parks that there will be some open spot. It does not mean that the parking spot will be free of charge though, but I can see how one could think that at first. In general, Germany (and Europe) is trying to become more independent of cars, so they make it extra expensive to park your car in city centers, so you are incentivized to use public transportation instead. That's why it's very rare to find parking spots which are free of charge.
If you live in larger cities, break-ins do happen. Thieves specifically look for Americans since they are believed to be rich. Your experience is not the same as mine at other locations. Graf is one of the best spots to be stationed in Germany, if not the best. German doctors often know English, local hospitals are decent, especially for private patients.
I live in The Netherlands, or Holland for Americans. It’s next to Germany. Germany is truly a magnicifcent country. Especially the South, like Bodensee.
