Born too late to explore the globe, born too early to explore the stars. But thankfully born just in time to explore this magnificent genre of music.
You're just too late to "discover" the globe, but you can (and should) still explore it. Everyone should leave their country of origin at least once in their lives.
🥲
@@Fruitboots25100% agree. I’ve been to Eastern Europe twice (from America) and would highly recommend visiting and getting to know it.
You can still find places in Western, developed countries that haven't been tarnished.
The vast majority of the ocean floor has not been explored. You can still do that
Blessed are we, who receive this bounty of SoulSearchAndDestroy on this frigid Friday in February.
Blessed is HaShem, who blessed humanity with the ability to create such wonderful music.
Malaysia no cold only hot all year
Have a great night buds 🙂
Guess my soul was okay.
Edit: I'm retarded
@@Malkiel1968 you mean Jesus Christ
hearing resonance unexpectedly is one of the greatest feelings
It's not unexpected anymore. Thanks for that.
@@foxtrotosc4r yeah, thanks for the advice buddy. I've been listening to vaporwave since before it was called vaporwave
Any mix that starts with The Midnight is a certified banger.
And thats a GUARANTEE ✨️👈😎
Just like Terrifier 2.
hard disagree
The dial-up beginning is pure magic.
Burned into your brain if you're of the generation.
@@shiftgood Yes.
The sounds of your dad's *H O M E O F F I C E*
My gosh... the dial-up sounds... Windows 95 Startup... Opus No. 1 remix... this is transporting be back to the 90's like never before. You've really outdone yourself this time, Miss Ivysaur. Bravo!
The old Mac System7 startup sound is in B:/ Start Up too. Hitting the feels for everyone.
Welcome....
Opus Number 1 - I hear this music on hold all the time. It sounds much better here
(7:22) Aaaah.... the default, CISCO Voice Router hold music. Classic. NPR about 10 years ago did a piece on that song. Supposedly, it was written by the kid of an executive in the early days of Cisco. He was 16, was tooling around on a new keyboard had had received and then for the next 20 years, this song became the sound millions of people heard every time they went on hold.
Thanks for sharing. This track has always fascinated me ever since I first heard it on hold to a supermarket payroll department in around 2010. It popped up in random places ever since.
And not a bad 80s banger for a kid messing around
used to love being put on hold when this banger got put on, such a chill tune during stressful days
Wondering if this was the same or a remix. The ones I have herd seem to use some but not all this track.
Holy, that Cisco hold music remix is an absolute banger
I'm so happy I lived my childhood in the 90s
I was born in the early 80s so I got to be a kid in the 80s and a teenager in the 90s, it was awesome!
53:23 Resonance - Home that heavy classic synth sound intro then when the deep beat kicks in oh yeah! this will all ways be magic.... my ears just melt as I'm transported to a different world.
Apparently the dude was young when he wrote it too, and it's become an instant classic.
I can feel this in my chest, pulsating every atom, it's so expansive😃🌿
Glad to see someone is keeping Retro Wave alive.
WELCOME
YOU’VE GOT MAIL
Best for last. 😎👍Faces - Bart Graft is 🔥
Holy shit, I never knew Opus No 1's name. But I instantly recognized it from all the times I've been out on hold lmao. It actually sounds good when it isn't playing over a phone line 😂
Great curation as usual, SS&D!
I did a double take at Opus Number 1 - Eyeliner. I know that hold music! 😂
The mixture of jungle-esque tunes with the electronic tunes of the internet makes this collection wonderfully capture the days of Web 1.0 when the internet was still mysterious and adventurous.
AOHell, AoICE, spamming chat rooms, finding cheat codes for video games on the bulletin boards. A/S/L? Those of us lucky enough witnessed the dawning of the internet and what made it so special. There was once a time where talking to people online was a new and exciting thing.
Brings me back to a time when having a phone number was needed for an internet connection. I still have several 2.5" floppies with AOL on them.
I'm glad we're all still here. I missed you guys! 💖
Your videos have a way of blending up my memories and serving them to me as a smoothie.
^this. Is a perfect description of how these tracks and moving clip makes me feel about the mixes.
It’s like replaying nostalgia for me that I have forgotten. I can recall sneaking out to the parents office room to boot up AOL and hope they didn’t wake up from the dial tone.
The bright side of these dark times we live in is the n o s t a l g i a
LOL i'm cryin, Eyeliner made a fleshed out version of the LADWP hold music w/ Opus Number 1 🤣
SS&D delivers vapor to it's hungry customers once again.
Happy Friday everyone!
The year is 1995, you're taking a relaxing evening drive around San Fernando Valley and listening to (Wav - Body) on the radio in a brand new 1995 Chrysler LeBaron GTC convertible.
well, just in time to get to work.
This is a solid mix. The midnight never misses, eyeliner is classic, and George Clanton is always on repeat
Just in time for my school assignment, thanks a lot
AOL disks are fantastic. I thought it was a scam, like, how can they be sending me free disks in the mail? To everyone?
One day, I was at my grandparents place. I wanted to listen to some cool sounds but didn't have internet, then I grabbed the AOL disk from the mail, peeled it from the envelope and loaded it into the computer. The instructions were easy and I was online in minutes!
Free internet, free Email. Two thumbs up.
Eventually, the internet time ran up, but you can get more time with another disk, they sent them out almost weekly.
I would tell you to get AOL today, but the free internet stopped working with new disks. Probably by this time, there were more free users on than the servers could handle.
If I was able, I'd send everyone in the world a free copy of AOL on disk, just because I think it's appropriate. Even if the servers can't handle it.
Yes! Welcome back!🎉🎉
Damn that first track is incredible.
Our generation has experienced so SO MANY beautiful and amazing things.... Sadly; newer kids don't understand this... 80s/90s will forever be the best times ever!!! 😍
Windows96 is my go to nowadays
26.35 Waaaaaaaaaagggghhh!!!!! 80's AF💥👄

Opus Number 1.... AAHHHH, this is almost torcher, heard this so many times while on hold.
You guys. The future the 1990's imagined is now. The World Wide Web Exists and we're on it!
7:34 hang on, I know that beat. No way. It can’t be…
7:58 OH MY GOD IT’S THE HOLD MUSIC WE HAVE A SYNTH WAVE COVER OF THE HOLD MUSIC
Opus No.1 baby! Best hold music ever! 😁
@@Nakihashi Yeah memories, it was cool back then & cool now remixed 😊😊
@@Nakihashi thanks to this remix (and your comment) I finally know what this was called!! I used to spend so much time on hold in my first job but I never minded when I got to listen to this even for the 268th time that quarter lol it was always fresh
It's 2013. I'm ringing HMRC to request a refund on 3 years of overpaid taxes. Opus No. 1 plays over the poor quality office telephone handset. It's going to be a long lunch hour.
My Lord you're right...not bad tbh
there are probably a dozen channels on youtube that serve up these mixes, yours is the only one i actively seek out.
Opus Number 1 is done in a beautiful new sound font but still is like PTSD for call center workers lol
This hits right in the F E E L S
Oof not the dial-up sounds 😂 the title was not joking about this being America Online. Great mix!
As always, knocking it out of the park with this one!
Soul Search Returning with an absolute banger mix of soulful music.
Whoah. Opus no. 1 is the tone for when you get put on hold where I work and every time I get put on hold I vibe out. Really was not expecting that. Lol
pleasant music
Nice!
YES!!! Can’t wait to listen to this when I get home!!!
Thank you SS&D, you’re the best!!! These make my week!!
Dang what a way to start off a mix. Definitely one of The Midnight’s best tracks and one of my faves by them too. Another certified classic in the books SS&D. Well done as always.
Perfect mix for our friday, thanks
The psychic damage I am currently experiencing while listening to Opus 1 - Eyeliner and realizing that was the hold music my old job used, but better.
I am fighting for my LIFE over here I THOUGHT I WAS FREE.
I’m definitely going to have this on while I do school work tonight and tomorrow.
Music to reminisce about the pre-dead internet times
Y'know, it wasn't always like this
Pre-1945 America is to Pre-2007 Internet, as Post-War America is to Post-Facebook Internet
@@JohnVance I remember the good old times of msn and early Facebook
@@Jophilli for me personally the real turning point on the internet was in 2014/15
YES 💚
I've never heard more than 20 seconds of Opus Number 1, but I've heard that 20 seconds at least 30,000 times.
Another solid mix. Thank you!
Great mix, you always impress me.
I miss vaporwave like this
Jesus, this playlist excites my imagination for reading manga
I always say that this mix is my favorite one you have put out, but this is mix is going to be hard to beat. Thank you for your tie and energy in putting these together. I never wanted this playlist to end.
Bruh… Opus Number 1 I’ve heard so many time on hold with the doctors office lol
That was so chill I'm ready for bed.cheers 🍻
Hey man, thanks.
sweet mix!!
*_A M E R I C A O N L I N E_*
ohh es sonido de las teclas y el arranque de los coolers me encanta, muchas gracias por este exelente material de audio.
Oh yes just what I needed in life thank you for this jewel of a mix
Cisco music instantly traumatized me, but it paid off.
That is one of the coolest intro mixes I've heard incorporated into a song. Great work. Felt like I stuck an AOL cd in and was about to play some Ocean Explorer on my old Compaq
Amazing as usual.
I just can't get enough of this mix at the moment, on repeat, such mini masterpieces!😃🌿 this mix is the only thing going right in my life right now😆
7:25 I did NOT expect to hear a remix of my local Hospital/GP/Housing Association hold music in here. I've spent hours on hold to this music in my life but I can't lie, I've done a little dance to it plenty of times.
Fantastic Mix!
This is so cool!
Excellent mix
Another solid mix from SSAD 😉 another satisfying day of synth 💗 DOWNLOAD COMPLETE
Love your mixes - great! One constructive note - volume seems to be differing greatly between tracks, like Eyeliner into FM Skyline.
Great mix but unfortunately the third song gave me PTSD for all those times I've been put on hold.
Love this.
Awesome video broski! 👊😎
Great collection of songs! My only complaint is the sound level was kinda all over the place. I had to raise the volume and lower it, over and over.
In the first 30 seconds I aged 50 years.
Thanks for the tunes, but my goodness, a little warning for the existential crisis next time XD
неплохо
🙏🙏🙏💞💞💞
@8:16 omg, this track is used as hold music, that's where I first heard it!!
You know the mix is good when the first track has a dial up tone.
Track 3 is the hold music used by the IT Dept of the NHS Trust I work for. It's the backing track for a password reset.
Anyone got an extra ❤ laying around? Mine just drove off into the 🌅
❤️
I do too
Work jams!
2023.. damn
Ha, I swear that I heard "Opus Number 1" during a call waiting period when I called Kaiser Permanente's customer service.
This gives me "ER" theme song vibes. But vibes nonetheless
Or like an 80s non-Brat Pack John Hughes movie.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Getting PTSD from being on hold with TD Visa for 1 hour with this on loop at 00:07:57
Take me to whatever universe this originated from please.
