    I’ve gone through honestly like 40 videos on how to publish my comic. This is the only one that actually helped and didn’t spend the whole time basically just trying to sell me their own comic.

      Your welcome. Thanks, There are a lot of folks out there putting out garbage on KDP in order to make a quick buck ( to be fair some of them just don't know the difference between good and bad design) but I think we can create more quality products using KDP.

    .. Just wondering Scott..., How do you sell digital versions on your website..?!?

    • @ScottSerkland
      @ScottSerkland  3 года назад +3

      It depends on your web hosting. I use Squarespace which allows you to upload digital goods to your store. Although the file space is limited, if I have a product that is too big to upload I upload a PDF with a link to where the customer can download the files from Google Drive. Another option a lot of artists use is providing a link to a gumroad shop. It’s and extra step but it might be a less expensive option.

    • @ScottSerkland
      @ScottSerkland  2 года назад

      I'm not totally sure to be honest, the problem with free art for KDP is that so many others are already using the same art. Because I crate my own artwork I don't really know where to look, I would probably google free clip art, I imagine there are sites out there with libraries of resources.

    • @ScottSerkland

      That is correct, at least for Amazon KDP. Amazon did buy comixology so comics are on their radar, maybe they might roll out an option for printing single issue comics in the future.

      There isn't really an easy way to do it in Bookbolt. It's good for creating the puzzles but I found I had to do a lot of work in other programs to get the pages as custom as I would like. I think I have to download all the pages and organize them in Adobe Acrobat.

    Dear, Scott, how profitable is publishing comics in amazon kdp? Is there any metrics?

    • @ScottSerkland
      @ScottSerkland  2 года назад +2

      It’s difficult for me to say. The books I sell on KDP are how to workbooks for creating comics. They sell well but I also do a lot of promotions myself. I don’t only rely on keywords and descriptions. My comics are only 22 pages so too short for KDP. When the story is done I will collect them all in a single volume and publish them on KDP. I think with comics you need to promote them yourself. Unless you have a unique niche that people are searching for like and instructional comic on how to do something specific.

    Hello, thanks for the video. I read the comments to see about printing comic books. Fortunately, mine is 28 pages plus covers, but for the life of me I can not figure out the custom trim size to set on KDP. Do you have any idea what you would put here if you were printing your comics? Obviously standard is 6.625x10.25, but the the comic is all butchered when I check the preview. I suspect it has something to do with the spine margin? Any idea? I have searched far and wide and I find it hard to believe I am the only person struggling with this..

    • @ScottSerkland
      @ScottSerkland  11 месяцев назад

      You're welcome, I wish I could help because my comics are single issues and I have yet to collect them into a trade I haven't tackled how to set up a custom comic size for KDP yet. I do know that KDP is super finicky when it comes to set up and everything is checked by AI. Unfortunately, there is no human who looks at the file and understands printing and why you would want to print something a certain way. It's all a bunch of trial and error and thring to figure out how to work within their parameters, it sucks!

    Is there anny option to publish manga (reading direction form right to left)?

    • @ScottSerkland
      @ScottSerkland  Год назад

      I’m not 100% sure. Theoretically yes you would have to design your book that way. The problem is Amazon are sticklers when it comes to thing they think are printed wrong and they might see that as an error and reject it. And unfortunately the approval process is all automated. I don’t think human eyes ever look at it. And there is no costumer service you can talk to when uploading and approving a book.
