Artist here. My stuff is rather big and I actually have to bring walls, so I’m always looking for ways to save space for table stuff (especially since I drive a Prius). Space bags are absolutely the way to go with pillows/plushies/blankets. Amazon has ones with hand pumps, or bring a 9yr old who likes to roll around on the bags too!
These are amazing ideas! For me I organize my stickers in an index card holder that has built in tabs. It’s very compact and easy to grab and go when people purchase one! 💖
Thanks so much! I just did my first convention and thought I was so smart just throwing everything in a suitcase. We got rained out and I learned QUICKLY that keeping things orderly without any order is not possible. Will be implementing some this for sure!
I’ve got my first conventions ever coming up this summer, and this was something I’ve been thinking about *a lot*. So the timing of this video was perrrrrfect. 😱
Oh I’m so glad!! I hope you can get a lot of tips from it! I plan to do some more videos in the future about how I make my display boards and stuff, but I do have more tips on my Tiktok~
I think you should use vacuum bags for stuffed stuff! There are lots of types which you can use without a vacuum. Thanks sm for this video, it was super helpful and gave me lots of ideas! 🥰
I use the plastic box that has more plastic boxes inside of it, like you have, right now for stickers but I recently saw an artist store stickers in one of those budgeting binders that people use for cash stuffing and I think that’s a great way to downsize for flying!
super helpful resource ! I've been doing alleys for about 3 years now and started researching how to set one up in 2017. I wish I had this video when I started ! It's been so interesting to see how tips and tricks videos have grown for artist alley. I remember there used to be very few Good videos on artist alley prep. So I kinda just stopped looking for youtube videos on artist alleys. Now I can find answers to any niche questions easily. I found this video while searching how to store vinyl stickers. While I wouldn't really consider that too niche, back then I know there wasn't many answers for that. Let alone the videos that even go into storage. Thank you !
Could you also make a vid on expectations you had for your first artist table, and how it went? Oh man, i want to also learn more about selling at conventions and how much you should bring and prep before i start applying to cons.
I don’t know that I could recall what I expected out of my first show since it’s been so long, but I would love to do a series of tips for beginners with info like that!
My top advice would be to pack as light as possible. I placed all my tiny inventory/display pieces. A great advice I was given was to cut up the fabric for your display. If you've bought 3m of fabric as a table cloth and only need 1.5 m then just cut it right off and you'll save weight/space. Also for grid walls I'd recommend only bringing the ammount you need and not any excess walls if they're not needed for your display. Try out the display beforehand to see what you need and not need. This step saved me a lot of space
Soooo helpful! I'm preparing for my first con and there's just so much to think about 👀 Could I ask where you got the postcard display? I've been looking for one like that!
I plan to make a tutorial video about this, but basically I create the file in InDesign and send it to my local printer! They print it on business card thick cardstock!

I actually use vacuum bags for them now!
I saw someone storing and displaying stickers and stuff inside a fabric shoe holder with pockets. Easy to put up and take down and fold to store.
Oh I’ve seen that solution before too! I’ve never personally tried it, but it looks effective~

I have a question! Where did you buy your wire grids?
I have my first convention this June and this is SO HELPFUL omg !!! :)
AH I’m so glad!! Feel free to ask me any questions you might have for other con-related things, I’ll do my best to answer! 💖

Where do you get the cardstock paper boards? When I Google it I can't find anything
I was going to suggest watching my latest video about display boards, but I just saw your comment on it!
I'm going to have my first art booth ever today! I had to fly to the convention. Luckily packing went well enough, not quite as expected though
Good luck to you!! I hope it’s a really successful one~ Do you have any tips for packing inventory or display for flying?

I’m so glad it was helpful to you! The wooden postcard display is from cleardisplays.com, they have tons of different display options!
@@LeSpiritDesigns thank you so much!
How did you make the display boards for your stickers and charms?
I plan to make a tutorial video about this, but basically I create the file in InDesign and send it to my local printer! They print it on business card thick cardstock!
can I ask what kind of tripod you have there? I've been looking for that exact one.
It’s this one! Julius Studio Backdrop Stand - amzn.to/3IuDrwQ
Thank you so much I appreciate it!
