I have this CPU. I put it into an Asus Tuff Gaming H670 MB, added a Samsung 980 2 TB NVME.2 SSD, and an Asus 3080 12 GB OC video card. I put in some Corsair Vengence RGB Pro SL 3200 and the performance is not bad for what it is. Would I like a 13900 or a 14900? Sure, but the price would have been astronomical, and the 12700 is a good all-rounder, not stellar, but good enough.
@MasterofRB2 200 used Amaz I'll be installing it in 2 days when I get my cooler. It doesn't make any sense to upgrade the 29 unless you need the extra power or want to keep the chip for longer.
@@cmoneytheman I'm considering buying the 29 used on Amazon or eBay as well then selling my 34 on the Bay to get some money back, I'd really like the extra power but I'd need to upgrade my cooler as well so I'm just gonna wait a while for the used market price to go down a bit and save up.
@MasterofRB2 Well, as long as you don't get the 13/14 permanent crashes chip, that's a good idea. I was going to wait for the 15th, but then I checked the board prices, and I was like, No go. It doesn't really make any sense to spend on a chip with the same cores/threads as a 12700 that won't show a big difference.
yeah this is truly mind boggling. I really don't understand. In the US it's pretty common for the 13700k to go on sale for $350 which is almost what the 12700 goes for while the 12700k tends to go for $250. @@gex581990 Exactly. I'm hoping I can go with the 13th gen i7 myself, but with the z790 chipset and DDR5 memory, the graphics card is likely the RTX 3060, not the TI as it has 8G on it, not the 12G of the standard version, yes the overclocked version is a bit less, but not if it's already overclocked (stability is in question when done). I’m considering buying the 12700 to replace my 12400 for the extra 2 physical course and decent performance increase. just get i7-12700 with a good cooling and unlocked motherboard like asrock, and set the PL1 to 125W and set the PL2 to 189W this will make the performance just as like i7-12700KF it's much better than i5-13500.

the i7-12700k for €372.95 and the i5-13600k for €359.
