Snowblind is still worth playing. The level progression feels very natural there are save points like an RPG instead of levels. And the save points always have goodies like ammo and med kits
I played this a few weeks ago, really enjoyed it. You can see little hints of when it was supposed to be a deus ex game, having multiple options to most objectives. It definitely has its jank though, crashed a lot too. It is a lot more fun if you use the shield ability a lot more than you seem to do in this video :P
Played the crap out of snowblind on the PS2 and I loved it as a kid. If I played it now I probably won't like it but it was my favorite game at one point.
Did you also have/play: Warhammer 40k Fire Warrior, Cold Winter, and Urban Chaos Riot Response? I think 2 of those games were PS2 exclusives alongside Killzone 1.
I remember Mandaloregaming covering this game. Considering the low price it often goes for now, I think it's worth a play through at least once. Maybe a sequel to this would've improved things. I dunno. Maybe check out: Warhammer 40k Fire Warrior and Haze. Two FPS games that tried to "kill" Halo.
@@echodelta2172 Sad thing is the XBox version of Fire Warrior was legitimately better than the PC version. First time I've been impressed with how much better something was on console at basic functionality. Didn't make it a good game, though. Not even close. I'd like to see Mace Griffin: Bounty Hunter though. The OG 'Halo Killer' lol.
Idk, fire warrior tried to "kill halo"? Wasn't it a shitty licensed game which only purpose was to announce new (at that moment) faction of weaboo bluefaces robots coming to the tabletop game? Whole game is basically one giant commercial for Tau minis, nothing more.
Dude, yours is my favorite channel right now. You make lots of references to CoD and Ace Combat, my 2 favorite videogame franchises and understanding them all makes me so happy
It’s funny, because your hypothetical scenario is effectively my experience with this game. My father got it for me one Christmas for the OG Xbox. It was hard as hell, but I loved this game. Played it all the way through.
I always like to think this is one of the many 'wars' that happen in deus ex, I played it as a kid and it was hard but interesting. Might pick it up again someday.
Ironically Project Snowblind was the very first PS2 game I ever played, and I remember really enjoying it. If I ever saw a copy again I would definitely rebuy it just to add to my collection but it wasn't a terrible game. And the thing about the PS2 era is the fact that there was a ton of mediocre games amongst the really great games and in this era the time of crunch was great. So while we might have loved a lot of the classics, almost every game of the PS2 and original Xbox had massive amounts of Jank in the games. However what everyone loves about these games was that they felt like video games, something that a lot of video games fail at these days. Sometimes you don't want 200 hour long games with pages and pages of script with endless cutscenes😅
What N64 PS1 era game has a night time snow level where you have to save the President or something? I always thought that was Snowblind but apparently I've never played Snowblind. And now I've gotten old and have dementia or something.
I played this as a kid before I even knew what Deus Ex was. Can confirm that dumbass younger me though that the hints of exploration and open-endedness were the best thing ever. I've played the real Deus Ex since then though, thankfully.
I have really good memories about this game, it's not the best, I actually prefered Socom, CoD 2, Killzone and Battlefield 2 modern combat but even though I'm looking at it right now, knowing it's not as good as I remember I can't change my mind. Maybe the only thing that I'm not going to do is to play it again, I just usually play Black or Ace Combat even this days and that's it. thanks for the video, it unlocked a lot of good memories.
Day 559 of trying to get Oboe to do a Skyrim Sigurd RP Been meaning to play this one ever since I beat DXMD, I know it’s been changed beyond recognition but I need me some more of that sweet sweet DX experience which has been shelved in favor of crappy marvel games
Grew up playing this game it was the first video game I ever played on a PS2 does anybody also know that this also had a multiplayer mode that was reminiscent to war zone
Oboe if you haven't played it, you should play Time splitters future perfect. I would enjoy watching that you play it if you felt like making a video of it.
the game has soft lock aim assist... even on PC, with a mouse. Its VERY annoying and I couldnt find an option to turn it off. So trust me, they weren't cheating, and probably didn't even want it.
Project Snowblind is a good first person shooter game, but it's not a Deus Ex game (despite the publisher's claims), since it's totally linear, the story is OK but not even remotely as good as in a Deus Ex game, you get no choice as to what augmentations you get (nor even the order in which you acquire them), there are no really memorable characters, etc. The worst thing about this game it that, for some inexplicable reason, there is no skill setting. This game leaves me with so many questions, but the biggest one I have is if the dead speak.
"I even bought flowers. Dangit!" Sent me.
I will say, cyberpunk slang for "getting your optics hacked and reset" being "snowblind" would work, will keep that in mind lol
I wonder if it would be possible to reconstruct whatever was deus ex with this before it was mangled beyond recognition
everything is possible. just would take a shit load of time lol
Snowblind is still worth playing. The level progression feels very natural there are save points like an RPG instead of levels. And the save points always have goodies like ammo and med kits
How about appreciating it for what it is? A fun futuristic shooter? Why does everything have to be overrated Deus Ex lol
@@INFILTR8US to be fair they nailed Deus Ex out of the park lol. Human Revolution is better than Cyberpunk
Doubt it game is trash
This guy really play Snowblind without knowing the alternative fire mode for each weapon
And yes the ending is possible to beat
Or without knowing how to zoom in aim

I had the game as a kid and I love it too. Really shows the power of the late PS2 library, and the safe rooms make the levels flow together so nicely

@Sparks you ever play Blue Shift or Opposing Force the HL1 side games?
Same dude. It definitely didn't age super well but I knew it like the back of my hand. I could stealth run the entire game
Same
The video is great and having an Ace Combat Zero reference is the cherry on top!
The film grain was supposed to simulate the snow blinding you
One of my mom's coworkers gave me this game when I was a kid. I never knew it was connected to Deus Ex, I loved that game
I remember Mandaloregaming covering this game. Considering the low price it often goes for now, I think it's worth a play through at least once.

What do you call a frown turned upside down?
...A frown that's lying to itself.
(I just felt like being dumb with non-humor)
1:52 Did you really slip an Ace Combat Zero reference in here?
I love you
Nice try with the A-01 lotr joke, but Eowyn is theodens niece, not daughter. Disliked, unsubscribed, removed from favorites

Oh my god this is the game I played as a kid and turned off because I got to a part where it made me go alone and I got too spooked
The part that had the invisible enemies in the tunnels😂
Thank you oboe i have been looking for this game for almost 10 years
I played this when it was new and I honestly thought it was pretty damn well made even if a bit generic
Two Oboe posts at the same time? The end is near
I got this game for christmas in 2004. Best gAme EvEr
Never made a "The dead speak" reference, this channel is going downhill...
I forgot this was planned as a Deus Ex spinoff. I thought it was a Red Alert spinoff.

Try the mad Max video game. One of the most underrated games out there.
Needing to take a break because of a sewer level and bullshit enemies is major Civvie11 energy.

As I didn't have any expectations I had a shittons of fun playing this.
If Deus Ex Invisible War had an affair with Red Faction 2...

I played this game while the Multiplayer was alive. Agent was the most used class.
To bad I don't see Multiplayer.
Wish this game had been pc only back in the day so it wouldn't have been downgraded to play on consoles
He quoted Ace Combat Zero, amazing
I actually loved this game when I was younger. Wish I still had the disk.
